070 Shake kehrt am 15.11. mit ihrem neuen Alternative-Album „Petrichor“ zurück. Der Titel bezieht sich
auf den charakteristischen Duft des Sommerregens, den die 27-jährige Künstlerin mit ihrer Heimatstadt
New Jersey verbindet. Mit ihrer rauchigen Stimme und düsteren, persönlichen Texten hat sie sich als
einzigartige Künstlerin in der Musikszene etabiliert.
Die geborene Danielle Balbuena ist nicht nur Solo-Künstlerin, sondern auch Mitglied des Musikkollektivs 070, von dem sie ihren Künstlernamen übernommen hat. 2016 erlangte sie mit dem viralen Hit „Trust
Nobody“ erste Aufmerksamkeit und arbeitete seither mit namhaften Künstlern wie Kanye West und Lil
Yachty zusammen. Nach ihrem Debütalbum „Modus Vivendi“ im Jahr 2020, das auf zahlreichen BestOf-Listen landete, und dem darauffolgenden Album „You Can’t Kill Me“ von 2022, hebt sie sich nun mit

On February 7, 2025, Signature Sounds will re-issue Crooked Still's acclaimed album, Shaken By A Low Sound on remastered, deluxe colored vinyl. Two tracks, “Little Sadie” and “Ecstasy” were prominently featured on the Playstation video game, The Last of Us which became the Emmy-nominated show (2023) on HBO. Originally released digitally and on CD in 2006, Shaken By A Low Sound cemented Crooked Still's reputation as one of the premiere alternative bluegrass groups of the mid-aughts, shattering preconceptions of how traditional music was played. Stil war gestern, Transformation und Genrevielfalt sind heute! Mit seiner bestens eingespielten Formation Shake Stew, die sich aus zwei Bässen, zwei Schlagzeugern und einem edlen Bläsertrio zusammensetzt, bietet der österreichische Kontrabassist Lukas Kranzelbinder ein intergalaktisches Roadmovie für die Ohren und "good vibrations" für die Seele. Auf dem Debütalbum "The Golden Fang" wehen schamanische Klangschlieren und böllern kolossale Beat-Architekturen, während energietrunkene Bläserstimmen Schlangenlinien fahren. Stimmungen werden smart einer langsamen Metamorphose unterzogen, Soli elegant in ein atmosphärisch dichtes Klangbild eingehüllt. Das gemahnt mal an eine Marching Band, dann wieder an freitonale Feste, wobei zwischendurch auch orientalische Skalenexkurse und bluesige Andeutungen farblich aufblitzen. Christine and the Queens return with new album PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE, released on 9 June via Because Music on 3xLP, 3xCD, single LP and single CD.

The record’s first single, ‘To be honest’ is an ethereal, synth-driven first glimpse into the French phenomenon’s most personal and ambitious album to date. PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE is written, performed and produced by Christine and the Queens, with co-production by Mike Dean (Lana Del Rey, Beyonce) and guest appearances from 070 Shake and Madonna.

Delroy Wilson’s rich vocal tones always added magic to any song put his way. The ‘Cool Operator’ as he was affectionately named, after he worked on a tune with the legendary Jamican producer Bunny Lee.

A match made in heaven that you will hear on the album where he was put against some of the finest rhythms made in what would be a high point in Reggae’s history.

Delroy Wilson (b.1948 Kingston, Jamaica) began his musical career at the school which was Coxonne Dodd’s Studio One label. His first release at the tender age of 13 was the Lee Perry produced ‘Joe Liges’. This Ska enhanced tune gave the young singer his first hit
and the follow up single ‘Spit in the Sky’ that also flew out the record store doors.

After a brief stop in 1969, Delroy began working for producer Sonia Pottinger’s Tip Top label which gave him more hits including ‘It Hurts’ and ‘Put Yourself in My Place’.

The 1970’s saw Delroy Wilson’s arrival at Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee’s door and what would turn into a winning formula, scoringhit after hit.
It is from this great period in Delroy’s career that we have compiled this selection of killer tracks, cut with drum and bass rhythm kings themselves Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare.

Auf dem Album „The Women Of Def Jam“ sind unter anderem Teyana Taylor, Jhené Aiko, 070 Shake, Ashanti, Alessia Cara und auch Foxy Brown mit ihren größten Hits vertreten. Aber auch ein paar männliche Def Jam-Künstler haben es als Featuregäste auf das Album geschafft, darunter Jay-Z, Pusha T und Ludacris

Kaum eine andere Band hat die mitteleuropäische Jazzszene in den letzten Jahren derart auf den Kopf gestellt wie Shake Stew. Während die ZEIT sie als "Österreichs Jazzband der Stunde" bezeichnete und sie der NDR schon früh in den Status einer "Kultband" erhob, ist spätestens seit der Verleihung des Deutschen Jazzpreises 2021 in der Kategorie "Band des Jahres International" klar: Hier ist etwas ins Rollen gekommen, das es in dieser Form noch nicht gegeben hat. Und es macht keine Anstalten langsamer zu werden! Von Beginn an umgibt die vom Bassisten und Komponisten Lukas Kranzelbinder ins Leben gerufene Formation etwas Mystisches, das im Live-Konzert eine ungemein soghafte Wirkung entfacht, der sich die wenigsten entziehen können: "Die unausgesprochenen Zauberworte heißen Magie und Energie - Shake Stew bringt etwas Kultisches in den aktuellen Jazz, eine Bereicherung!" schreibt die Jury der deutschen Schallplattenkritik in ihrer Begründung für die Aufnahme in die Bestenliste 2020 und das britische Magazin MOJO wird sogar noch eine Spur körperlicher: "Able to blind you into a trance and make you dance to your knees, Shake Stew twists, blisters and burns like a fevered dream!"……..

Ubuntu Music is excited to announce the signing of Skeltr for the worldwide release of their album, ‘Dorje’. Skeltr began as a late night, post-gig session between Sam Healey (keys) and Craig Hanson (drums) in the dusty old cotton mills of Manchester. Forging a shared connection inspired by Post-bop and Modern groove, the pair developed a tightly knit, highly musical duo. Their first UK gig in 2017 at the Manchester Jazz Festival saw the duo sell all of their physical records of their debut release in one day. Within a few months of this auspicious start, the lads found themselves supporting L.A sensation KNOWER on UK tour, appearing on JazzFM, Worldwide FM, listed as ‘ones to watch’ in Jazzwise Magazine as well as performing across European jazz festivals, including Reykjavik Jazz Festival, InJazz, Rotterdam and the famous Osloscene Club in Norway. A tragic accident saw hard times fall upon the Duo as Sam suffered a serious hand injury. However, after operations and months of rehabilitation, Sam was able to return to his saxophone and continue playing music again. Having had chance to compose during rehab, the Duo immediately hit the studio and recorded their second album, named after Sam’s new-born son, Dorje. A nucleus of Saxophone and Drums set to scapes of synths, vocals and guest features, Skeltr's second album, 'Dorje', combines heartfelt statements of sensitive, illuminating, incensed improvisation which stem from ardent and fluent melodies. Craig ondrums is as much an expressive protagonist of the music as he is a foundation with deep roots, leading to intricate interplay between the Duo. Themes include understanding the nature of happiness, self-examination and acceptance in aquest to achieve a positive mental state. Ultimately, ‘Dorje’ seeks to provide the listener with a space in which to explore their own relativities with guidance, inspiration and accompaniment. Sam describes the project, saying, “What a wonderful experience it has been to create this album. We look forward to spreading the music far and wide with positive intentions. The sounds are crafted with a passionate energy in our hearts and I hope otherswill be able to feel and hear that.” Concerning Skeltr’s new relationship with Ubuntu Music, Healey continues, “It has been a three-year journey to bring this album to fruition and we’re so happy to have met Martin (Hummel) and Ubuntu Music as the album was coming to completion. This auspicious timing makes the new relationship all the more rewarding. The Ubuntu Music team’s knowledge, experience and phenomenal work ethic are vastly inspiring and will help Skeltr to reach a much wider audience across the world. We look forward to a close relationship with theLabel as we strive to bring great musical offerings to many people.” Martin Hummel, Director of Ubuntu Music, said, “These guys have breath-taking talent. Nach 6 jähriger Abstinez nach seinem letzten Projekt (Life Is Good), meldet sich Nas diesen Sommer
mit seinem neuen Album NASIR zurück. Das Album entstammt aus der Produzentenschmiede von
Kanye West und ist ein Produkt aus der vom Produzenten ins Leben gerufenen "Wyoming Sessions".
NASIR ist das vierte Werk aus den genannten Sessions und enthält ebenso wie die Vorgänger
("Daytona" Pusha T, "Ye" Kanye West, "KIDSSEEGHOSTS" Kanye West & Kid Cudi) sieben Titel. Das
Album ist mit hochkarätigen Gastauftritten von Puff Daddy, 070 Shake, Kanye West, Tony Williams und
The-Dream bestückt. Das Album ist bereits sein elftes Studioalbum und stieg auf Platz 5 der
Billboardcharts ein.
