Italian musician, composer, producer and DJ Sergio Sturari aka Serge Funk is one of the most successful disco-house/funky-house artists of recent years, with his productions often sat atop the Traxsource and Beatport charts. This latest release on Groove Culture’s 7 inch sub-label showcases two of his most accomplished creations.

Serge's most famous track, ‘You and I’ takes the A side. An infectious guitar groove provides the hook for this uplifting vocal-led disco house anthem that has already racked up more than 1 million plays on Spotify.

Flip it over to find ‘Yeah Yeah’ – an unmistakable funk jam with a punchy house beat to keep the bodies moving. Flavourful horns dance around slap bass, spiritual organs and juicy guitar riffs tied together with those energetic funk vocals.

Universe City's 1976 12 inch promo release, featuring 'Can You Get Down' and 'Serious', gained cult status in the disco scene. Produced and arranged by John Davis, the limited release and the subsequent demand over several decades, fuelled in part by regular plays from tastemakers like Sean P and Dave Lee, highlight the enduring popularity and influence of this particular record within the disco community. John Davis, a highly influential figure in the disco music scene, particularly during the 1970s. As a composer, arranger, and producer, Davis played a crucial role in shaping the sound of disco and funk music that can be heard throughout this release. Presented here officially for the first time since it’s limited promo release 48 years ago, this exclusive RSD release, lovingly remastered will be an essential purchase for any disco lover! SPEICHER 105 presents a different side of ANNA - her remarkable production skills continue to shine as she looks more inward with REMEMBRANCE. This depth charged masterpiece needed to be concocted into a duel; a broken beat main mix and a four to the floor rendition of which you can choose your own adventure with. After 2021’s critically acclaimed album “Afraid To Leave”, Berlin based post-punkers Bleib Modern invited artist friends to take an outside perspective on their tracks, resulting in the “2 Afraid 2 Leave” compilation, featuring remixes and reworks from several esteemed names within the darkwave, post-punk and EBM music scenes.

From club bangers like IV Horsemen’s version of “Bitter Smile” and M!R!M’s dreamy lo-fi bedroom synthpop sound on “Into The Night” to Danish deviant pop artist Dune Messiah’s crooner “Loony Voices”. The album also boasts contributions from luminaries like The KVB, The Underground Youth, Blind Delon, Shad Shadows and various Bleib Modern band member side projects.

“2 Afraid 2 Leave” offers listeners a chance to experience Bleib Modern’s music from an altered vantage point, a welcome interlude as the band forges ahead with new creations.

Time has come for Futurepast to release a long format album: Alarm Phase Red - catalogue number FPLP01 - will be the first full-length work from Futurepast founder Davy Vandegaer, appearing here under a new name: Brainwashed Today.

Rooted in a conceptual approach of electronic music, this double LP ranges from industrial ambient to experimental techno. Like an antidote to a twisted reality of controlled screens and mental isolation, Alarm Phase Red uses the raw language of electricity
to reach the core of the machine and sabotage it, reverse its effects by mirroring them. Fighting fire with fire, deflecting the pressure and strain of a world driven by fear and anger, the music of Brainwashed Today acts like a cathartic escape from technological enslavement.

With the purchase of the vinyl comes a batch of three digital bonus tracks pursuing further the sound research of the album.

For their next release, Futuribile looks to the work of Salerno star Carlo Fontana, presenting a set of hard-to-find & unreleased treasures titled ‘La Musica Del Sud.’

Carefully remastered at the West Hill Studio, the collection of tracks — which features contributing arrangements from Tullio De Piscopo — forms a moody pop funk paradise, with jazz horns and soul brass layered together, and amorous vocals crooning, supported by lush harmonizations and greasy gliding bass. Disco beats and exotic drums dance, prismatic pads and soft synths seek the stars, piano and guitar sing a spaced out blues, and amidst the moving grooves and deep swinging jams, moments of beautiful balladry emerge to touch the spirit.

Carlo Fontana's work is further testimony to a courtly and sophisticated musical aesthetic in vogue in Naples (and surrounding areas) between the 70s and 80s which had as its main proponents and protagonists exceptional musicians such as Joe Amoruso, Tony Esposito, Pino Daniele, Elio D'Anna, Enzo Cervo and many others.

Fresh from their celebrated UK tour, featuring a stand-out performance at London Jazz Festival, Ishmael Ensemble return with ‘Reasons’ the lead single from their forthcoming EP ‘New Era’, a collaborative project with lyricist and MC Rider Shafique.

Ishmael Ensemble’s Pete Cunningham says: “I first came across Rider Shafique about 6 years ago after I heard his piece “I-Dentity” via Bristol’s Young Echo collective & was immediately struck by his powerful way with words. A true master of his craft.This record was an opportunity to lean into the more bass-heavy side of my music taste. I’ve always been a massive fan of dub in all its forms & producers like King Tubby, Adrian Sherwood & Pinch have been a constant source of inspiration over the years. This sound palette coupled with a voice like Rider’s is something I’ve always wanted to make so I’m super happy with what we’ve produced here.

Visages present 'Lead To Gold' their debut long-player collection on the label after a string of successful releases. These 8 tracks showcase their continued versatility as producers alternating between 140 and 174 BPM. As certified members of the 1985 Music family, we also see label owner Alix Perez join the fold with 'Black Katanta' and fellow affiliate Monty on 'Ace Of Spaces'. The French foursome continue to make moves across underground dance and this LP is no doubt set to progress them.
