What began as a solo project by guitarist/vocalist Tyler Zanon in 2013 under the name Bedroom Talk eventually blossomed into a full-blown band by 2017, with the Vancouver-based Youth Fountain (then a duo) proudly announcing their presence with the debut single “ Grinding Teeth ” and a pair of Pure Noise Records releases that expertly toed the line between pop-punk fervor and more reflective emo moments. Alternative Press hailed the band’s 2019 debut full-length, Letters To Our Former Selves , as one of the year’s very best, dubbing it the “ perfect blend of emo-tinged punk to soundtrack reflecting on every single life decision you’ve ever made ,” while North American tours with the likes of Free Throw, Can’tSwim, and Chris Farren cemented Youth Fountain’s sweat-soaked sound as something best experienced live – all while dodging a few stray elbows and overzealous crowd-surfers. Now once again, Zanon finds himself as a solo artist following the departure of co-vocalist Cody Muraro in mid-2020 – but this time, he’s exactly where he wants to be. Youth Fountain’s new release, Letters To Our Former Selves – Acoustic EP, re-introduces Zanon’s project to the world, reimagining fan favorite aterial from the 2019 LP of the same name.

Massachusetts's finest indie punk outfit, Born Without Bones, have returned to announce their upcoming new album, Dancer, due out November 4th from Pure Noise Records. Since their formation, Born Without Bones have put together an impressive catalog that ranges from heart-on-sleeve punk, to biting alternative rock, to sweeping indie, and more. Now on Dancer the band sound undeniably like themselves, bridging all of their different influences into their own distinctly hook sound. State Champs 4th studio album Kings of the New Age releases on May 13th, 2022. The album has guest features from Ben Barlow (Neck Deep), Chrissy Costanza (Against the Current) and Mitchell Tenpenny.

Mint Green is releasing their debut album on Pure Noise Records. “All Girls Go To Heaven” plays with the idea of paradise and perfection, but not in a traditional sense. Rather, it’s about discovering what “paradise” or “heaven” means to the individual. How freedom and peace can be found through introspection. The journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. How someones idea of safety and wellness can be totally different from your own. In a more literal sense, “All Girls Go To Heaven” means that anyone can achieve this so-called “sacred” destination by simply believing that they belong there. Or rather, creating their own definition of what “heaven” is. No Bragging Rights are releasing a brand new self titled album. As a band we still felt we had more to say. Life took us all in different directions which made writing difficult. Anthony (Tron) joining the band was the spark and the resource we needed to start writing. Daniel would drive 2hrs to Tron’s studio in Tacoma to write and send the demo’d ideas. I was in my last year of undergrad so I would write lyrics/melodies over my Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. We hit the studio in January which was the first time Martin had seen Daniel or Tron since our last show in 2016. We feel that we were able to bring new elements to our sound without sacrificing our identity as a band.

CREATIVE CONTEXT ON SINGLE 1 - “Misery’s A Muse"
"I had a demo of a song Billy put together that he had no home for but decided to share with
me to get my thoughts on it. I happened to be in the studio with another band and took
advantage of some of the time I had blocked out to track vocals to this song idea for kicks.
What's interesting is the demo vocals is what made the cut on what would ultimately
become "Misery's A Muse". At this time there was no band, expectation or particular sound
we were going for. It's a snapshot of us accidentally becoming a band so we could have an
excuse to write more songs. It feels good to finally have an opportunity to share some of
these early workings, and lay the ground work for what we are doing next“ – Rick

CREATIVE CONTEXT ON SINGLE 2 - “Wedlock Waltz"
"Once the tone was set with the first demo, we pushed ourselves to make the most blistering
track we could with "Wedlock Waltz". I remember throwing three mics on my drums and
grinding a series of blast beats in odd meters to start the song. Brian (Sullivan) and I would
sit in my basement studio and pass the guitar back and forth until the we found the riff. We
wanted to keep it high energy and dissonant. Looking back I feel like this is the song that
really paved the way for where we were heading creatively." – Billy

The Rain Just Follows Me, The Album: is the sound of an outbound train falling off the tracks. The train is lost and exhausted. The train is simply expected to execute a series of itineraries that are never ending. The train just doesn’t want to leave the station anymore. The train is me. There are times that it feels like a total nightmare, yet there are times where the melody soars into something so melancholy and beautiful, but most importantly...it never lets up. Just like the never ending itinerary, RAIN was written and recorded under extreme exhaustion and stress. The exact way that most people live their lives. Tired, strained, and searching for a moment where you can just hit pause...but you can’t, because here comes the next song.

Ultimately, Can't Swim feel that Change of Plans is "the most Can't Swim record yet." LoPorto says, "All of our endeavours as a band have led us to make what I think is the most honest and transparent album in our discography. We spent way less time recording what we thought we should be writing and put down whatever came naturally. The recording process was certainly the easiest to date as well — we knew what we wanted going into it. I'm constantly writing songs and some of the tracks on Change of Plans have been in the demo stage for almost four years now so it feels great to finally have them all together on one release." Change of Plans was produced, mixed, and mastered by Will Putney (A Day to Remember, Every Time I Die, Body Count, Knocked Loose) of Graphic Nature Audio and is the culmination of everything Can't Swim have been building and exploring over the last six years, combining their signature visceral lyricism and cathartic rock sound with influences ranging from the worlds of folk to EDM. One could say it's a little bit of everything all rolled into one, and in a way, that's true. When life is more unpredictable than ever, Can't Swim are striking the perfect balance of hope and realism by writing songs that embrace the chaos of life. They want to find and harness a vibe that makes living a bit easier for everyone, and with each release, they're getting closer to that goal.
