Der Soundtrack zum packenden Dokumentarfilm ”Billie” (Kinostart 24.12) , der mit seltenem Archivmaterial und Interviews das dramatische Leben von Billie Holiday nacherzählt.
”Billie” entstand unter der Regie von James Erskine, auf dessen Konto unter anderem die Emmy-nominierte BBC-Dokumentation ”The Human Face” geht. ”Billie” erkundet Leben und die Karriere der legendären Sängerin auf der Basis von rarem Filmmaterial (zum Teil erstmals koloriert) und Interviews mit Künstlerkollegen wie Charles Mingus, Tony Bennett und Count Basie, sowie mit Holiday’s Stiefeltern, Lebenspartnern, Schulfreunden, Gefängniskameraden, Anwälten und sogar den FBI-Agenten, die sie einmal verhaftet haben.
”Billie” kommt in Deutschland am 24. Dezember ins Kino, bereits am 13. November erscheint das Soundtrack-Album, das die wichtigsten und schönsten Songs aus dem Werk Billie Holidays versammelt.

All Eyez on Me is the fourth studio album by 2Pac and the last to be released during his lifetime. Released on 13th February, 1996, by Death Row and Interscope Records, the album features guest appearances from Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Redman, Method Man, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger, E-40, K-Ci & JoJo, and the Outlawz, among others.

The album features productions by Shakur alongside a variety of producers including DJ Quik, Johnny “J”, Dr. Dre, DJ Bobcat, Dat Nigga Daz, DJ Pooh, DeVante Swing, among others.

The album includes the number-one singles “How Do U Want It” (featuring K-Ci and JoJo) and “California Love” (with Dr. Dre, featuring Roger Troutman) and the hip-hop ballad “I Ain’t Mad at Cha”, along with the Snoop Dogg collaboration “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” as a promotional single. It featured four singles in all, the most of any of Shakur’s albums. Moreover, All Eyez on Me made history as the first ever double-full-length hip-hop solo studio album released for mass consumption globally.

All Eyez on Me was the second album by 2Pac to chart at number one on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, selling 566,000 copies in the first week.

Upon release, All Eyez on Me received instant critical acclaim, and it has been ranked by critics as one of the greatest hip hop albums, as well as one of the greatest albums of all time. In 2020 the album was ranked 436th on Rolling Stone‘s updated list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory (commonly shortened to Makaveli) is the fifth studio album by Tupac Shakur, his first posthumous record and the last released with his creative input. Recorded in seven days in August 1996, it was released on 5th November, 1996, almost two months after his death, under the stage name of Makaveli, through Death Row Records, Makaveli Records and Interscope Records.

The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory debuted at number one. It is his only album released under the new alternative stage name and features guest appearances from his rap group Outlawz and rapper Bad Azz, as well as R&B singers Aaron Hall, Danny Boy, K-Ci and JoJo, Val Young and Tyrone Wrice, along with uncredited vocal contributions from reggae musician Prince Ital Joe.

Originally intended as an underground release and preceded by the release of “Toss It Up” as the lead single, the album peaked at number one. “To Live & Die in L.A.” and “Hail Mary” were released later as singles and both garnered praise as standout tracks from the album. All singles charted within the top twenty of the UK Singles chart.

Am 28. Oktober veröffentlicht Paul Weller eine weitere Song-Collection auf dem Album „Will Of The People“.

Bereits im Jahr 2003 veröffentlichte er ”Fly On The Wall”, auf dem alle Paul Weller Solo-Singles, bis
zurück ins Jahr 1991, auf einer Collection gebündelt wurden. Das kommende ”Will Of The People”
macht da weiter, wo ”Fly On The Wall” aufgehört hat und versammelt in ähnlicher Manier die Songs und
Raritäten zwischen 2002 und 2021. Diese Sammlung gibt Fans die Möglichkeit, all die schwer erhältlichen
Solotracks, die zuvor teilweise noch nie auf einem Album erschienen sind, zu hören. Zusätzlich enthält das
Album Anmerkungen von Autor und Rundfunksprecher John Wilson

‘Blemish’ was David Sylvian’s first solo album to be released on his own Samadhisound label following his departure from Virgin Records in 2003. This is the first official release on 180gram vinyl. Working primarily as a solo artist, Sylvian created an impromptu suite of songs for guitar, electronics and voice. The compositions were crafted from improvisational sessions by Sylvian and the acclaimed free-jazz guitarist, Derek Bailey on 3 tracks. “A Fire In A Forest” features the haunting electronic arrangements by Austrian guitarist / producer Christian Fennesz.

Mit FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE veröffentlicht Brian Eno, bekannt als Pionier der räumlichen Musik, Experimente und Audioinstallationen, sein erstes Studioalbum seit sechs Jahren. Regimental Sgt Zippo is the legendary ‘album that never was’ for Elton John. Signed to DJM as an artist in early 1968, he cut 12 tracks at DJM studios in London’s New Oxford Street, for a debut album. It is unclear as to why the album was never released, but a running order was allotted. As part of the excavation of material for the Jewel Box, the original running order was located: after the success of its limited release in mono for Record Store Day in 2021, we are now offering an industry-wide release in stereo, mixed at Abbey Road with the customary care of Elton’s catalogue team. In addition to the previous release, this new LP edition comes with a printed inner bag with full lyrics. The CD edition contains both stereo and mono mixes.

In May 1980 Flesh and Blood gave Roxy Music their second No’1 UK Album and peaked at No’35 in the US Billboard chart. The album was preceded by the single “Over You”, a No. 5 UK hit that also provided the band with a rare US chart entry at No’ 80. Two more hit singles followed: “Oh Yeah” (UK No’5) and “Same Old Scene” (UK No’12). Flesh and Blood also included two cover versions: The Byrds’ “Eight Miles High” and Wilson Pickett’s “In the Midnight Hour”.
