Typischerweise verfolgen Gizzard-Alben ein einziges Thema oder einen Stil - zum Beispiel die Öko-Metal-Barrage von ”Infest The Rat’s Nest”, der New-AgeTrance-Pop von ”Butterfly 3000” oder die endlosen Garagen-Prog-Verrenkungen von ”Nonagon Infinity” -

Das karriereübergreifende Best-Of Album „Exorcising Ghosts“ von Japan wird am 7. Oktober wiederveröffentlicht.

Das Album wurde gemeinsam mit David Sylvian zusammengestellt und produziert und wurde von Miles Showell in den Abbey Road Studios in halber Geschwindigkeit neu gemastert. Auf dem Album sind unter anderem die Songs “A Foreign Place”, “Life Without Buildings” und der erweiterte 12“-Mix der 1981er Single ”The Art Of Parties” enthalten.

"Born in Crystal Palace in 1995, Max moved to Brighton aged five and following his parents’ separation much of his youth was spent travelling between his parent’s homes on the coast and his nan in South East London.
A constant in his world of uncertainty was music. In part, this was thanks to his music obsessive father, who would expose him to an abundance of genres whenever he visited. Max soon developed an insatiable musical appetite of his own. The urgent poetry of Gil Scott-Heron resonated, as did Nick Drake’s intricate folk and the Beatles’ pristine pop. Bill Withers, Graham Coxon, Donny Hathaway and Jimi Hendrix also hit home. James are proud to announce the release of their new album All The Colours Of You. Their 16th studio album will be released on 4th June with the title track available today (1st March) across all DSPs. All The Colours Of You follows the release of LIVE In Extraordinary Times, a live recorded version of their last studio album Living In Extraordinary Times, which peaked at #1 in the midweeks.

The album will be their first on a new record label, Virgin Music Label & Artists Services (formerly known as Caroline International), and at their new publishing home Kobalt Music, both of which they recently signed to, reinforcing the endless and restless ambition they have as they approach their fourth decade as a band.

Recorded in part before the Covid pandemic struck, the album was produced by the Grammy award-winning Jacknife Lee (Taylor Swift, U2, REM’s, Snow Patrol, The Killers).
