Der renommierte Neoklassik- Komponist und Pianist Dirk Maassen kündigt die Veröffentlichung seines neuesten Albums "Inception" an. "Inception" stellt eine deutliche Abkehr von Maassens früheren Werken dar, indem es das Thema der rohen, organischen Schöpfung aufgreift. Das Album "Inception" ist eine Erzählung über das Erfinden von Geschichten und das Einfangen von Momenten der Schöpfung in ihrer reinsten Form. Carla Boregas is a Brazilian musician, composer and sound artist. By merging synthetic and acoustic instrumentation and techniques, Boregas builds up sonic scenarios driven by an invisible force, where the sensation of presence and discovery lies between density and delicacy. Her work spans composition, improvisation, performance, sound installation and radio art, and aims to transport the listener to different subjective perspectives of time and space, to invoke memories and to reflect about the nature-human relationship.

Carla Boregas writes: "Using a Tascam Portastudio 4-track cassette recorder, I invited three musicians to improvise alone with the sound recording of the sea that I did in Massaguaçu, the place where I used to live in Brasil. The recorder that I used had a defect in one of its tracks, therefore I could only invite two musicians – Vinicius Cajado (double bass) and Réka Csiszér (cello), plus the sea in another track. While listening to the tracks together, I felt a deep sense of absence ("ausência" in Portuguese). Perhaps due to their sonorous answers surrounded by the tape hiss? Because that's one of the symbolic meanings of the ocean? Maybe "saudades do mar, de estar ao seu outro lado"? Who knows – listening can be something very mysterious. Afterwards I played with and interweaved them all: the sonorous sea, Vinicius Cajado, Réka Csiszér and the absence - "Absência Tape" is the final result." – Carla Boregas, Berlin, 8 August 2024.

Sexe Fort is the seventh studio album by Patricia Kaas. With this album, the singer has maintained her status as one of the most important chansonniers of her generation. The album is notable for its many collaborations with important French singers and songwriters such as Jean-Jacques Goldman, Stephan Eicher, Pascal Obispo, Patrick Fiori, Louis Bertignac and Renaud. The album was a huge success in Belgium, France and Switzerland and had "Où Sont Les Hommes" as a popular single. This is the first time the album has been released as an LP. Sexe Fort is a limited edition of 1000 numbered copies on white coloured vinyl.

The EP highlights Chontanes dedication to capturing a wide spectrum of moods and textures within a single record. The title track, Manx sets the stage with a dark, hypnotic presence. Die Ostfriesen von der Insel Spiekeroog versinken zum Glück nicht in einem Meer aus abgestandener Nostalgie. Obwohl "God of the Godless" mit der brachialen Kraft tosender Winterstürme und dem oft rauen Charme des Nordseewetters daherkommt, haben die Norddeutschen auch die cineastischen Aspekte ihres Sounds verfeinert, die sie auf dem Vorgängeralbum "Beyond Acheron" (2023) fest etabliert hatten. Auf einem soliden Fundament aus Brutal Death zimmern TEMPLE OF DREAD mit Hilfe von dunklen und schweren Stützbalken, Querstreben aus überraschender Melancholie und sogar einigen 12-Zoll Black Metal Nägeln ihre wuchtigen Songstrukturen. Als Zierelement dient erneut ein Gastbeitrag des INSIDIOUS DISEASE, ASINHELL und ehemaligen MORGOTH Sängers Marc Grewe. Die wuchtige Produktion von "God of the Godless" stammt wie gewohnt von Schlagzeuger Jörg Uken. In dessen renommierter Death Metal Klangschmiede, dem Soundlodge Tonstudio, wurden auch schon zahlreiche Langspieler solcher Szenegrößen wie unter anderen DEW-SCENTED, GOD DETHRONED, OBSCENITY, SUICIDAL ANGELS und WARPATH in Form gehämmert. TEMPLE OF DREAD wurden von Markus Bünnemeyer im Jahr 2017 auf Spiekeroog gegründet, als der Gitarrist den Entschluss fasste, seinen Mordshunger auf mehr Death Metal der alten Schule selbst zu stillen. Ein Jahr später stießen Sänger Jens Finger und Jörg Uken dazu, mit denen Bünnemeyer bereits bei SLAUGHTERDAY aktiv war. Dieses Dreiergespann besteht seitdem unverändert fort. Schon das erste Album "Blood Craving Mantras" (2019) schlug in Death Metal Kreisen hart ein. Die Arbeitstiere ließen in kurzer Folge zwei weitere Erfolgsalben, "World Sacrifice" (2020) und das von der Kritik in höchsten Tönen gefeierte "Hades Unleashed" (2021), auf die Welt los. Während sich das Trio für "Beyond Acheron" (2023) etwas mehr Zeit nahm, sind TEMPLE OF DREAD wieder auf der Überholspur unterwegs. Noch besser: Die Ostfriesen begeistern endlich auch mit Live-Auftritten. Mit "God of the Godless" legen TEMPLE OF DREAD die Messlatte für intelligente Death Metal Brutalität wieder um einige Zentimeter höher auf!

Death metal can hardly get more dedicated and passionate about the old school Floridian sound than
TEMPLE OF DREAD on their fifth album "God of the Godless". Luckily, the East Frisians from German
island Spiekeroog are not mired in a swamp of stale nostalgia. Although "God of the Godless" comes
with the brutal power of harsh winter storms and the gritty texture of the often fierce North Sea
weather, the East Frisians have also refined the cinematic aspects of their sound that they had firmly
established on the predecessor "Beyond Acheron" (2023).

Those in the know are well aware of Bobby Marin's work, and the fact that he was behind the scenes for some of the best boogaloo and salsa of the '60s and '70s. Yet, until now, no one has explicitly put Bobby's name in the headline and given him his due on the cover of a properly credited Latin soul compilation. This compilation comprises twenty four essential boogaloo, Latin funk, rock and afro disco gems, each one bearing the mark of quality: "A Bobby Marin Production", including songs by Ricardo Marrero, the Ghetto Brothers, Ocho, Louie Ramírez_ A freshly curated overview of his fascinatingly complex back catalog in these genres. Since the late 1980s there have been numerous Latin soul and boogaloo compilations, and certainly much has been written about the history of the music too and an an excellent documentary (We Like It Like That, by Mathew Ramírez Warren) have brought the music to a broader audience. Generally, when discussing the "first wave" of Latin soul and boogaloo, it's the bands and their leaders, the singers and the songs that get all the recognition. But what of the producers, composers, and arrangers behind the music? Over the years, one of the best old-school New York Latin music producers, Bobby Marin, has occasionally been given some well-deserved credit and popped up sporadically in articles or liner notes (Wax Poetics, Fania, Gladys Palmera). However, to the casual public, he is not a household name, even among some fans of boogaloo. There are even some contemporary Latin soul compilations that contain mostly material licensed, produced and / or written by Bobby (or his brother, Richard), and a tip of the hat must go to Bobby's friend Dean Rudland for all his work in this area, as well as to Rocafort Records for digging up the long-lost Nitty Gritty Sextet album. Yet, until now, no one has explicitly put Bobby's name in the headline and given him his due on the cover of a properly credited Latin soul compilation. This collection aims to change that and give the man his Latin soul "props" for the first time on a freshly curated overview of his fascinatingly complex back catalog in this genre.

Hier also nochmal "Die Braut haut ins Auge" - digital gibt"s ja zum Glück endlich alles, wirklich alles was diese 5 Braut-Frauen je veröffentlicht haben. Zur großen Freude der Band, der Trikonts und der vielen Braut-Fans da draußen und 35 Jahre nach Bandgründung. Was noch fehlt? Eben! Deshalb! Songs quer durchs Braut-Universum auf Vinyl - von jedem Album ein paar Perlen. Euphorische Girlpower-Pop-Energie. Fotos und Songtexte gibt"s noch obendrauf. Wie schön ist das denn... Und da ist nochmal ganz klar, wem die größte Liebe der Braut gehört: dem Popsong. Jeder der drei-bis-fünf-Minuten-Songs ist eine Welt für sich, blickt vom Makro- in den Mikro - Kosmos ("ÜberAll"), durchs Schlüsselloch ("Wenn Du gehst") oder in die Sterne ("Mann mit Hang zur Depression"); bei der Braut hängt der Himmel eben immer voller Rhythmusgitarren. Und warum machen die Trikonts das? Für die Millionen, die sie damit verdienen werden, eh klar. Aber auch und vor allem, weil die ursprüngliche Plattenfirma alle Tonträger eingestampft hatte... und natürlich, damit man sich nicht nur an die Band mit diesem seltsamen Namen erinnert, sondern vor allem an ihre mitreißenden Hop"n Roll-Pop-Cow-Songs. Wenn diese Band kein Role-Model für feministische Power, für ihre Entschlossenheit und ihren Humor ist, wer dann?

Ihr kalter, 80er- beeinflusster Wave-/Post-Punk-Sound wurde schon beim 2017er-Debüt ,Egal" begeistert aufgenommen und mit ,Zwei" (2021) verfeinert. Und so gab es für das Trio nie einen Anlass für eine grundlegende Sound-Änderung, eine Umstellung der Herangehensweise oder ein Schielen auf Trends. Das genau beweist ,Grau", Kontrolle-Album #3. Denn wenn das dritte Album von KONTROLLE etwas unterstreicht, dann, dass die Band noch kompromissloser zu Werke geht. Ihre Hardcore- und Punkwurzeln sind hier deutlicher denn je zu erkennen. Die breite Soundwand, die das Trio um Gitarrist und Sample-Meister Carsten Wagner, Sänger und Bassist Daniel Brangs und Drummer Andrew Collar kreiert und erneut in der Tonmeisterei bei Role Wiegner in Oldenburg auf Band gebannt hat, bestätigt diese Vermutung. Aber da sind ja auch noch die prägenden, markanten dunklen Elemente, die als Gegenpol eine sphärische Dynamik schaffen, die zwischen hypnotisch und eruptiv pendelt. Und das funktioniert nicht nur vor der Bühne, sondern auch auf der Tanzfläche. Die deutschen Texte von Sänger Daniel behandeln aktuelle Themen und Sorgen in gewohnt KONTROLLE-typischen Passagen, die oft mit einem Augenzwinkern auch politisch Stellung beziehen. Bisweilen spielen sogar Alltags- und Haushaltsgegenstände nicht zu unterschätzende Rollen in der ,kontrollierten" Beschreibung der deutschen Realität. Die Covergestaltung lag erneut in der Hand von Schlagzeuger Andrew, der diesmal neue Wege beschritt: Hunderte selbst geschossene Fotos bildeten den Grundstock für eine Collage von original ca. 1,5 m x 2 m. Alle Bilder wurden in mühevoller Kleinarbeit ausgeschnitten und zusammengestellt. Das Gatefoldcover ist somit ein Kunstwerk für sich und eröffnet mit jedem Blick neue Details. Erscheinen wird die LP am 27.09.2024, wieder auf dem für handgemachte Releases geschätzten Kölner Label Holy Goat Records. Drei der größten Klassikstars der Welt, Benjamin Grosvenor, Sheku Kanneh-Mason und Nicola Benedetti,
tun sich zusammen, um Beethovens Tripelkonzert aufzunehmen. Sie sind alle Absolventen des BBC Young
Musician-Wettbewerbs und sehr gut befreundet, aber es ist das erste Mal, dass sie gemeinsam auf einem
Album erscheinen. Die Aufnahme entstand im Juni 2023 mit dem Philharmonia Orchestra und ihrem
Chefdirigenten Santtu-Matias Rouvali, nachdem die Künstler das Konzert zuvor auf einer Tournee im Vereinigten Königreich aufgeführt hatten.
Begleitet wird das Konzert von einer Auswahl von Beethovens selten aufgeführten Volksliedern mit dem
berühmten Bariton Gerald Finley.

Wie viele seiner Zeitgenossen, begann der Hardbopper Donald Byrd sich Ende der 1960er Jahre auf seinen
Alben mit dem neuen Genre der Fusion-Musik auseinanderzusetzen. “Kofi” entstand 1969 und 1970 bei
Sessions mit zwei unterschiedlich besetzten, aber gleichermaßen hochkarätigen Ensembles, mit denen sich
Byrd auf rundum überzeugende Weise auf das neue stilistische Terrain vortastete, ohne gleich ganz von
seinen Hardbop-Wurzeln zu lassen.

Christmas Interpretations ist das erste Weihnachtsalbum und insgesamt das zweite Studioalbum der amerikanischen R&B-Gruppe Boyz II Men. Es wurde am 5. Oktober 1993 von Motown veröffentlicht. Einige der
Titel sind Eigenkompositionen, die Boyz II Men zusammen mit ihrem Labelkollegen und langjährigen Freund Brian McKnight geschrieben haben; andere sind traditionelle Weihnachtslieder. Die Neuauflage des
legendären Albums ist als Vinyl ab dem 04. Oktober 2024 überall erhältlich.

Swedish duo LOW-RES are no strangers to grim, almost decadent darkness. Their explosive mix of krautrock, indie rock, and psychedelia has captivated audiences all around the world. Their third album ”Happiness” explores topics of abuse, destructive relationships, but to a slightly clearer and more pop soundscape. The two poles shapes a background for an captivating listening experience with out worldly melodies and choruses. Produced together with musician and producer Daniel ”Fagge” Fagerström (Viagra Boys, Kite). LOW-RES has previously been picked up by BBC Radio 6 and praised by the likes of Swedish magazine GAFFA who described their debut album as “oceans of creativity pumping out of the speakers”.

“NO MORE HOLLYWOOD ENDINGS” WILL BLOW YOU AWAY! The eleven featured songs were recorded by keyboardist Janne Björkroth, Viktor Gullichsen and guitarist Joona Björkroth at JKB Studio; the record was also produced and mixed by Janne. Janne stated about »No More Hollywood Endings«, "The heavy songs are heavier, pop-delights brighter, rock vibes stronger, and sounds richer than before. The emotional scale is wider, and everything is bigger." Last but not least, the cover artwork was created by Jan Yrlund (KORPIKLAANI, MANOWAR etc.), who already took care of the »Bringer Of Pain« design.
