UK Dub pioneers Alpha & Omega (Greensleeves / A&O Records) represent the foundation of soundsystem culture and bass music migration from Jamaica, via the UK, to the world. Formed in the 1980’s and with over 30 studio albums to their name. Finally, for the first time in three decades Steppas Records has launched the A&O full LP reissue series. The latest in the series is 'Overstanding' a timeless and much sought after album originally released in 1992 currently only available at sky high prices if at all! Lovingly re-mastered and presented in the original sleeve featuring the iconic A&O artwork. Overstanding is another genre-defining album and a true piece of musical history.

A1- brian wilson rides again----- this tribute to a master reflects a studio awareness theory in the breakdown of a minimal “good vibration” . a bass line scales down leading waves of synth and effect to crash upon an ambling kick shifting steady through a western soundscape.

A2-too jada ta’ trotta---the trash can of audio is thrown down the stairs with this haughty mover rocking a rolling crash through digi-glitch symposium.

B1-bumper car cocktail party--- a patchwork rhythms stutter and form together in a ruff and tumble jaunt soothed by a sexy sax that brings the assembly into line.

B2----pong-----crisp hi-hats rotate next to a steady clap complimenting a ponging in various forms under a cloud of dramatic synth calming the animal spirit.

The mind behind Fundamental Records and Electro Records release his first EP after the his last Electric Eclectics and CPU releases. Pure analog machinery, triggered sequencers by old drum machines. Talking about the foundation of Jamaican music, the Alpha Boys School in Kingston can be considered as one of the places where it all began! Back in the day, under the direction of Sister Mary Ignatius, the school was the place where young boys from the poor neighborhoods in Kingston could embrace an instrument (mostly brass and drums). Then history tells us that some of these kids became among the most influential musicians in the history of Jamaican Jazz, Ska, and Reggae. Joe Harriott, Dizzy Reece, Tommy McCook, Don Drummond, Cedric Brooks, Rico Rodriguez, Johnny Osbourne, Leroy Smart and Yellowman are just some of the fruits of such a great community art project. Now this compilation contains some rare gems produced between 1959 and 1962 by Jamaican Jazz heavyweights such as Tommy Mc Cook, Don Drummond, Ernest Rangling, Lennie Hiibert, Cecil Lloyd and others. This is highly swinging music inspired by the Black American tradition with a unique and inevitable Caribbean flavour. Don't miss it!!!

* First appearing on A&O’s album `King and Queen’ in 1991, `Pure and Clean’ became an instant classic, with Jah Shaka cutting the track and running it on dub. Fast forward to 2013, Partial Records release it on 45 for the first time backed with one of the Shaka-championed dub cuts,
it remains the best fastest selling 7” on Partial.
* So, all good things come to those who wait. Partial have repressed it with 300 only copies available, with a tasty hand stamped outer sleeve.

Shadrach, Meshach And Abednego is a remarkable return to the mystical UK dub sound introduced by A&O in the 1980s. A powerful album in both word and sound featuring some of the greatest conscious reggae vocalists of our time; Danny Red, Joseph Lalibela, Wellette Seyon, Ras Tinny and Nai-Jah.

We proudly present to you on our 10th 7inch release, and for the first time ever on vinyl, the suitably named tune "Alchemy" by UK dub legends Alpha & Omega. This track first appeared on their album "Serious Joke" from 2002 (on CD).

The A side contains the original version included on the album, remastered for vinyl of course, while the B side contains a new dub version by Ojah.

Limited edition of 600 copies, hand-stamped and hand-numbered, served in a thick custom reversed kraftliner sleeve with inner black disco sleeves.

At the end of 2019, label boss Juan Pablo Pfirter was talking about a busy year ahead for MindTrip and we know exactly what he had in mind. Fresh and new collaborative projects will debut on the label in 2020, starting with his powerful shared EP with Oliver Rosemann who is no stranger to our family.

Together they go as dark as they feel across 4 impressive cuts on their Alpha release, blending peak time intensity with Industrial grooves and dark side body music their own way.

Alpha becomes the first of a multiple collaborative concepts that will expand further over the year.
