Born out of a chaotic Saturday night in Hastings. A raucous double bill between Leeds Jazz troupe and Kent post punks resulting in feedback, mosh pits and a breakneck rendition of The Stooges TV Eye. A plan was hatched right there to record an album together.

Soulbound with their new album "Addicted To Hell" from 2020 stand for urban, end-time Industrial Metal. They don't renounce their roots from Alternative Metal and keep their trademark despite all harshness: catchy melodies with dystopian and socially critical lyrics. Stomping beats combine heavy guitars and aggressive synths to an apocalyptic mix of Gothic, Metal and Industrial which in this form is still unparalleled. Here comes the album for the first time as a limited edition vinyl neon orange/black dust gatefold.

William Onyeabor was born outside Enugu, a small, rural town in Eastern Nigeria, he created his own genre of African electronic funk in the late 70s and early 80s, making music completely unique for his time. Today, he is reaching cult status among a growing list of admirers, including everyone from Damon Albarn and Hot Chip to Carl Craig and Madlib, with some likening him to the Kraftwerk of West Africa, or a precursor to LCD Soundsystem.

Among the crate-digging few that knew of him, he is considered a complete myth. While he has never performed live and almost never given interviews, his fantastical biography is scattered and has to this day not been verified. And, though he is still alive, he refuses to speak about anything regarding the past.

According to various rumors, he left home following the Biafran War and went to study cinematography in the Soviet Union, returning in the mid-70s to start his own film company and record label, Wilfilms. He then self-released eight remarkable records from 1978-1985. He wrote and produced everything on his own, and possibly played every instrument himself. Then, at some point of his life, he became born again and denounced his earlier music, deciding it is something he would never speak about.

The Japanese singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist also announced his return to AnimagiC 2026. The convention will be held from July 31st - August 2nd in Mannheim, Germany. Black Screen Records will also return and bring the Knightclub vinyl to the event. Since expanding his activities overseas in 2023, he has performed electrifying live shows in new territories, including North America, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and Latin America. At Brazil's largest anime convention, Anime Friends Sao Paulo 2024, he captivated a staggering audience of 10,000, their voices rising in fervent chants of his name, as he closed out the event as the final act of the night.

On May 15, HULKOFF returns with his fifth studio album; Jotunheim - a towering new chapter that bends space and time, and throws you back to the very darkest void where the nordic sagas began - Etunaheimar. The first spiritual landscape known in the blood-memory of Fennoscandia, today referred to as Jotunheim - the realm of Giants. Founded by the former frontman of Raubtier, HULKOFF has dominated Swedish charts with multiple #1 releases, including Pansarfolk (2020), Ragnarök (2021), and Hersir (2023). As with some of the previous releases, HULKOFF once again drops a double album. With 20 tracks split across two discs -one in Swedish, one in English- the album invites the world into the frostbitten heart of the North, expanding the saga without loosing its roots. With Jotunheim, HULKOFF delivers what has become his hallmark: iron-hard riffs over folky melodies and thunderous drums. Often described as "Music for the Viking hearted", Jotunheim once again presents the established HULKOFF sound - Metal refined and enhanced by the primal organic sound from Talharpa and violin - wood, horsehair and steel. A symbiosis that is adding an earthy, ritualistic texture to the otherwise dark and heavy sonic landscape.

Mit seinem zweiten Soloalbum geht er jedoch über einzelne Themen hinaus und richtet seinen Blick auf das Leben als Ganzes: das Leben nach der Musik. Ein kleines Studio, hoch oben auf einer Klippe am Fuße des Olymp. Vollkommene Einsamkeit. Nur in der Ferne gibt es einen schwachen Hinweis auf Leben. Klingt so absolute Stille? ,Dolphin Palace" ist der Name des Ortes, an dem ,Life After Music" entstanden ist. Das Ergebnis ist ,Life After Music", ein Doppelalbum, unterteilt in vier thematische Seiten, das am 15. Mai 2026 über Ghost Palace Records erscheinen wird.

Entstanden aus einem Live-Auftritt, offenbart ,unfamiliar music (paris)" das Wesen der Obsessionen und des Klanguniversums von Giuseppe Ielasi - einem Musiker, dessen Zurückhaltung nur von seinem Talent und seiner grenzenlosen Hingabe an das musikalische Schaffen seit fast 30 Jahren übertroffen wird. unfamiliar music (paris) ist ein bemerkenswerter Ausdruck von Ielasis Herangehensweise, einer Herangehensweise, in der Feinfühligkeit, manchmal Nostalgie und Emotionen es verstehen, mit Zurückhaltung ein Klanguniversum zu durchdringen, das um Polyphonie und Reminiszenz herum aufgebaut ist, um Texturen und Motive, die sich mit Anmut und Inspiration verflechten, verbinden und gegenseitig antreiben. ,Sparkling or Silent" des Duos Crys Cole und Oren Ambarchi ist ein eigenständiger Moment in ihren jeweiligen künstlerischen Ansätzen, ein Schritt zur Seite, der einen Fixpunkt um eine elektroakustische Methode markiert, die zwar in beiden Werken stets latent vorhanden war, sich hier jedoch als zentrale Kompositionsmodalität durchsetzt. Im Gegenteil, er wird als Kompositionswerkzeug betrachtet, offen für alle klanglichen Möglichkeiten, ein Werkzeug, das es dem Künstler ermöglicht, innerhalb des Klangs selbst einen verwobenen Raum zu entwerfen, in dem Erinnerungen, Eindrücke und Empfindungen eine Erzählung am Rande der Vorstellungskraft und der gemeinsam erlebten Momente weben - eine Erzählung, in die eine komplexe und sensible Klangschicht eingebettet ist, die die Grenzen zwischen künstlerischem Projekt, intimer Reise und geteilten Träumen verschwimmen lässt.

In ,Library Copy Do Not Remove" präsentiert JJ Weihl von Discovery Zone eine digitale Verzauberung der Realität, in der er das Materielle und das Immaterielle miteinander verwebt, um zu zeigen, dass es sich dabei tatsächlich um zwei Aspekte ein und desselben handelt. In Weihls Welt sind Natur und Technologie keine Feinde, sondern erschaffen sich gegenseitig in einem unendlichen Tanz aus Bedeutung und Reflexion. Ursprünglich als Raumsound für das Zeiss-Groß-Planetarium in Berlin geschaffen, ist ,Library Copy Do Not Remove" eine Schöpfungsmythologie für das simulierte Universum. Dabei handelt es sich jedoch nicht um eine trockene, bostromische, maskuline Fantasie einer digitalen Realität, der die Geheimnisse der Natur fehlen. Stattdessen fordert Weihl den Zuhörer auf, im Rahmen einer Simulation Raum für die beeindruckende Realität der natürlichen Welt zu lassen. Wenn unsere Welt simuliert ist, dann muss die Simulation in der Lage sein, die Schönheit und Pracht der Natur zu erschaffen. Auf diese Weise betreibt Weihl eine ambient-artige Alchemie, die eine große Versöhnung von Natur und Technologie fordert, während sie uns auffordert, darüber nachzudenken, wie und wo die Erfahrung transzendenten menschlichen Bewusstseins zwischen ihnen existieren könnte. Die Songs auf ,Library Copy Do Not Remove" entstanden, während Weihl gleichzeitig ihr zweites Album ,Quantum Web" fertigstellte, und spiegeln einen weitreichenden, inspirierenden Zustand aus Aufregung und Angst wider, der mit der Aufgabe einherging, Musik für einen so einzigartigen Raum zu komponieren. Die Songs selbst wurden durch Ambisonics geformt, ein spezielles Format für räumliches Audio, das direktional ist, anstatt auf Kanälen zu basieren (wie Stereo), und wurden über ein Mosaik aus 49 Lautsprechern übertragen. Da es für Live-Auftritte geschrieben wurde, war ,Library Copy Do Not Remove" nie als Album im eigentlichen Sinne gedacht, sondern als dreidimensionales Ereignis. Auf diese Weise spiegelte die Klanginszenierung wider, wie wir Klang in unserem Alltag wahrnehmen: uns aus allen Richtungen umgebend. Für diese Albumveröffentlichung hat Weihl alle Songs gemeinsam mit ihrem langjährigen Produzenten E/T von Grund auf neu abgemischt und die Konstellation der Tracks für ein Stereoerlebnis neu konzipiert und überarbeitet. Inspiriert von den Werken von James Gleick, LD Deutsch, Johannes Kepler und Jorge Luis Borges, erforscht ,Library Copy Do Not Remove" die kreative Spannung zwischen Realität und Wahrnehmung, Information und Mythologie, Harmonie und Unordnung. Im gesamten Album fragt Weihl, wie wir als Menschen das Universum um uns herum und den zugrunde liegenden Code, der es belebt, verstehen lernen. Was dabei entsteht, ist ein klanglicher Mythos, der von spiralförmigen digitalen Universen erzählt, die ineinander verschachtelt sind und in denen jeder teilnehmende Akteur gleichzeitig sowohl Teil als auch das Ganze der Realität ist. Auf diese Weise ist ,Library Copy Do Not Remove" ein cyber-Ausdruck zeitloser Weisheit: Anstelle von ,wie oben, so unten" könnte Weihl vorschlagen: ,wie der Input, so der Output".

303 synthesiser leads, driven bouncy baselines, infectious chopped vocal samples from the nineties—Match Box sit somewhere between euphoric trance and high-energy progressive house, shaping the sound of the EP.
On B1, Olsvangèr takes Stone Again into dubby territory with his signature prog touch, full of intricate textures and depth.

Aspetuck has been steadily carving out a name for himself through releases on Never Late and Oslated, garnering a respected following for his DJ mixes and festival performances. Aspetuck’s latest record, Immersion, was sequenced and curated from dozens of ideas spanning a transformative few years in Griff’s life. The album is less a snapshot in time and more of a memory bank - flashes of fatherhood, loss, modular rabbit holes, late-night studio sessions, and long walks by the Hudson River with his daughter.
The emotional undertow of the album is immediate. Opener Hit Me With Your Pet Shark is one of the earliest compositions in the collection, created just months after the loss of Griff’s brother and during the sleepless swirl of new parenthood. Built around a single sound from Spectrasonics Omnisphere, found while rediscovering his brother’s studio gear, the track sets the tone: restrained yet searching, personal without becoming precious.
From there, The Printing Press captures the raw energy of a live jam in Griff’s upstate New York basement, running through a 1980s Tascam mixer like a lo-fi assembly line of synths, pads, and drum machines. REI, named after a spontaneous family mission to find a pink water bottle, encapsulates his knack for imprinting daily minutiae into sound. And title track Immersion- once known simply as Tuesday 303 Jam- emerges from a dinner break and a blender, distilling modular sketches and distorted drums into a powerful, slow-motion march.
Under, Under The Tree hits hardest. Built around a grainy iPhone voice memo of Griff’s daughter singing by the Hudson. And closing the album is Bobik, a collaborative studio session with Moon Patrol channeling the playful chaos of a close friendship and modular exploration. Named after a joke about their golden retriever and filled with alien textures from Griff’s beloved EMU XL7 gifted years ago by his late brother, it’s a fitting send-off to an album that straddles celebration and mourning with grace.
The artwork comes courtesy of Peter Skwiot Smith, whose textured analog/digital aesthetic resonated immediately with Griff’s original vision. Peter’s treatment draws on Griff’s personal photography and leans into motion, blur, and the layered nature of memory, echoing the album's sonic tone without overexplaining it.
