DJ Hell ist der Pate des Electroclash und Gründer des einflussreichen Labels International Gigolo Records. "New Juke Swing" marks SHONIIA's debut in the Juke/Footwork genre, where he fully embraces the rhythmic freedom that defines the style. Centered around sampling, the release weaves together a rich palette of New Jack Swing, R&B, and soul samples, layered over rapid, broken Chicago rhythms built primarily on the genre's staple drum machines - the RolandR70 and 808 - and spiced with looping vocal phrases.

The album doesn't reject the genre's rules - it plays with them. Following the success of the first season’s release, the official soundtrack to Vikings Season 2 returns to vinyl with another immersive chapter in the saga. Composed by Emmy Award-winner Trevor Morris (The Tudors, The Borgias, Dragon Age: Inquisition), this score continues to build the series' signature atmosphere. From pulse-pounding battle themes to introspective, ambient textures, the music reflects the growing scale and complexity of Ragnar's world as alliances shift and empires collide. For this second season of Vikings, Trevor Morris collaborated with Einar Selvik from the band Wardruna. The soundtrack features original music by Einar as well as co-compositions together with Trevor. Vikings (Music From Season Two) is available as a limited edition of 750 numbered copies on red coloured vinyl. This 2LP package includes a 4-page booklet with pictures and liner notes by Trevor Morris.

If much of the mindset and mantra behind Above & Beyond over the last quarter of a century has been born from the idea of connection, then their fifth artist album ‘Bigger Than All Of Us’ is best summed up in one word: reconnection. It’s been seven years since Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki and Tony McGuinness released their fourth electronic album, Common Ground. A #3 on the Billboard charts – an achievement that speaks to the British band’s huge, arena-to-amphitheatre scale profile in America, a level of success replicated in pretty much every other corner of the world.

The time since has seen a series of projects come to life both collectively and individually: 2019’s ambient, yoga-and-meditation-friendly album Flow State, streamed over 400 million times worldwide; a series of club ready instrumentals under the Tranquility Base moniker; radio records ‘See The End’, ‘Over Now’ and ‘Crazy Love’. In the meantime, the band embarked on personal projects outside of the Above & Beyond framework. Grant collaborated with long time friend Daren Tate on 2022’s self-titled synthwave JODA album. In 2023 Siljamäki, reprised his P.O.S. alias, releasing dance floor focussed album Deeper Tales. Last year, McGuinness dug in his own crates for Salt, an album based on a studio-freshened selection of emotional singer-songwriter compositions originally written as the ’90s rave and Britpop fever-dreams faded. A worldwide touring schedule, their weekly Group Therapy radio show, and overseeing a family of iconic dance labels, Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep and, most recently, Anjunachill – it’s never quiet in the world of Above & Beyond.

Based in the North of England, Ancient Infinity Orchestra is a joyous large ensemble that has communal music-making at the heart of everything they do. A truly unique voice, Giggs’ combination of slow flow, dark lyrics, a well-documented past and explosive street sales saw him hailed as one of the most exciting voices in British rap. One of the first compilations to truly pull tracks from throughout G.G.'s controversial career is 2004's Expose Yourself: The Singles Collection 1977-1991. A few selections have been impossible to find for years, such as the early G.G. single "Love Tunnel" b/w "Devil's Triangle," which makes its first appearance in years here. Elsewhere, you'll find tracks that have appeared elsewhere -- "Snakeman's Dance," "When I Die," "Gypsy Motherfucker," etc. -- but are among G.G.'s best. Turning a gimlet eye to the American Primitive guitar style, Sir Rick applies his own bloodthirsty interpretive methods on a self-described "excursion into the dark woods," to locate - and play along with - the Primitive"s moonshine-fed inner savage.

Sam Prekop"s work over the last 30 years, whether created primarily on his guitar or on his modular synth, is consistent in its powerful melodicism, delicate arrangements and subtle evolution. Prekop"s singular blend of melody, impressionistic lyricism and quietly intricate rhythms are the core of the singular sound of The Sea and Cake. Since 2010"s Old Punch Card, Prekop"s exploration of modular synthesis and electronic atmospheres, has come into its own. Highly skilled at manipulating the sonic interplay, Prekop has established a sytle all his own, his pieces are complex expressing real movement. Harmonies bloom with granular detail and contrary to their machine sources are able to convey emotion. Open Close is an album that captures the flow and energy of a live performance through the lens of a deft craftsman, an equilibrium of intuitive composition and the excitement of possibility.
