Ludwig Hart, who over two albums has established himself as our foremost innovator of classic American road rock aesthetics, has throughout 2024 released songs with a sound that is even bigger than on the artist's breakthrough album, 2021's "Paloma". The song "Less I Try" has been in constant radio rotation in Sweden, Germany and the UK, and Hart has had time to appear on national TV, embark on a major tour with two successful gigs at The Great Escape in Brighton and spend a summer playing the biggest Swedish festival stages. On his third album "Stay Young" - released on September 27 via Argle Bargle Studios - Hart showcases an increasing freedom to genre and style. From reflective, stripped-down tracks like "Ghost of You" and the title track, we're taken through the reverb-drenched garage boogie of "Run Run" to the big chorus wind-in-the-hair rock of single favorites like "Less I Try" and "Journey." On previous albums, Hart has been praised for his lyrics - personal stories about people around him growing up and their life situations. On ”Stay Young” - on the contrary - he turns inward and faces his own fears and demons. "It's been scary but necessary. The album is about my fears of getting older, fears of ending up like my dad. It's about how much I've tried to suppress things I've been through, and how they've probably shaped me into who I am. I live with ghosts that never seem to want to let go, I have my own devil on my shoulder that constantly makes itself known. I am periodically terrified of ending up in total fucking darkness. This record has helped me try to understand why."

For fans of The Stray Cats, Brian Setzer, Swing and Big Band! The Brian Setzer Orchestra (sometimes known by its initials BSO) is a swing and jump blues band formed in 1992 by Stray Cats frontman Brian Setzer. In 1994 they released their debut album which was followed up in 1996 with Guitar Slinger. In 1998, for their breakout album The Dirty Boogie, the group covered Louis Prima's "Jump, Jive an' Wail", which originally appeared on Prima's 1957 album The Wildest!. The BSO's follow up single, appearing on the album Vavoom!, was "Gettin' in the Mood." Now get Guitar Slinger from the Brian Setzer Orchestra for the first time on vinyl since 1996. Remastered on 180g vinyl in an amazing limited- edition color. There are only 700 of the Silver Melt. Guitar Slinger is the second release from the Brian Setzer Orchestra and where the band really started to come together. The album leads off with "The House Is Rockin'" and features the Brian Setzer/Joe Strummer (The Clash) penned tracks "Ghost Radio" and "Sammy Davis City". There are 12 tracks in all, and it clocks in at just over 43 minutes. This is the first in a series of three reissues coming from Deko Entertainment with The Dirty Boogie scheduled to also hit by the end of 2024, with Vavoom! to follow in early 2025.

Having spent their formative years in São Paulo Brazil, as a teenager, Lau Ro found themself uprooted from their home. Moving with their family to Europe in search of a better quality of life, their story was like that of many immigrants in the same position. Lau Ro's parents found work in factories and cleaning jobs, for the first few years in the North of Italy and then in Brighton on England's Southern coast. "We never managed to visit back home, so my connection to Brazil became largely made up of childhood memories and my fascination with all the 60s and 70s music I could find from there."

In Brighton, the young non-binary singer and composer would immerse themself amongst the city's vanguard of free-thinking artists and musicians. Lau Ro formed Wax Machine whose prefigurative, psychedelic community provided a glimmer of countercultural hope amid a backdrop of national political decline. From 2020-23, Wax Machine birthed three cult-favourite albums in as many years; indebted in part to their British psychedelic forebears from progressive folk, rock and jazz yore. But the kernel of Lau's Brazilian sound was already beginning to blossom across Wax Machine's releases. Now, taking root deeper still, Lau Ro steps forward with their debut album: Cabana.

Named after the small wood cabin at the bottom of their garden where the album was recorded, Cabana is a deeply personal record of memory, self-discovery and imagination. Melancholy and hope combine across ten tracks of dreamy bossa, ambient folk, fuzzy tropicalia and majestic MPB. The music is swathed in masterful string arrangements and trippy electronics in equal part, while Lau Ro's delicate, yet quietly confident voice takes acerbic aim (in both English and Portuguese) at polluted city life, while dreaming of a utopia, rich with nature and wildlife.

Like the musical equivalent of semantic drift, Lau Ro's displacement led to the creation of another Brazil. A mythic place in Lau's soul, as they put it, "where the sunshine and joy of my childhood remained untapped." Lau continues: "It's music that might sound as if it came out of a parallel universe Brazil, rather than its modern day landscape. I am nowadays rediscovering Brazil, going back as often as I can and trying to stay connected to these different parts of the world and myself."

THE CHEFS tauchten zum ersten Mal auf der ,Vaultage 79" Compilation aus Brighton auf. "Throat" ist die Kollabo zweier beurlaubter Künstler: Nick Power (The Coral) und McKowski (The Lost Brothers), Soundtrackkomponist (Quantum Cowboys), Drehbuchautor (The Spin), Tourmusiker (Jolie Holland, Howe Gelb, M. Ward). Der Swamp-Aussenseiter "Throat" gibt der Geheimwelt aus Folk-Horror, VHS-Video-Grusel, Poesie, Naturwelt, Spukologie, Kriminalität, John-Laurie-Filmen, Teenager-Acid-Trips und abgedrehten Roadsongs eine Plattform. Alle Aufnahmen entstanden im ersten Take, Fehler blieben drin. Sourced from the original master tapes with full color artwork by Eric Adrian Lee. Includes insert with photographs from Kornelije Kovac private collection and liner notes by Zeljko Luketic. XIV Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo 1984 had immeasurable status in the history of Yugoslavia and is widely recognized by organizing committee to be the best in recent history of the Games. However, they were also the pop-culture melting pot of the times, with posters by Andy Warhol and famed local designers and the music by Kornelije Kovac, leading the selected best-of-the-best composers of the times. The recordings on this release share the same musical approach to melody and structure Kornelije Kovac (1942 - 2022) was using at the beginning and the mid of 1980s: while exploring the possibilities of synthesizer, fresh from his collaborations in London with famed composer Hans Zimmer, and almost a decade since he shared Eurovision Song Contest stage with ABBA in Brighton with his Korni Grupa, He also collaborated with Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake), Paul Jones (Manfred Mann) and Andy Pask (Landscape) among others. Kornelije Kovac always insisted on the freshness of the harmony layers combined with DJ friendly rhythm backing track. With the warm analogue feel that resonates in today's digital world this was chosen for a purpose to be an old-school 12'' maxi-single, as it was intended to be, cut loudly for the sakes of all lost and existing discotheques in Sarajevo and all over the world.

Brighton based three-piece Jopy, led by songwriter Jo Parnell, release their debut EP on Goo Records. Featuring six tracks including recent singles Head Hunters Pub & Grub and Graveyard Romance, the Planet Zombie EP showcases the band's B52s/Cramps influenced glam punk sound chocker with incendiary punk riffs and frantically infectious choruses.

Full of macabre joy, the EP sees Parnell celebrate her queerness through fantastical camp-horror fictions via Marc Bolan-esque vocals rolled into one blood-curdlingly gleeful package. Tracing these songs' deeply personal origins, Parnell says: “I want to write songs that people can relate to and feel seen by without having to relive the more difficult aspects of their journeys. This is why I chose to convey my experiences in the form of fun, campy horror stories.”

Blending death growls with ethereal soundscapes and elements of progressive rock, Crimson Veil have been stunning audiences with their unique take on metal. The group of multi-instrumentalists emerge as a new project from their previous band, Birdeatsbaby, who worked with the likes of Paul Reeve (Muse fame) and John Fryer (Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails…). Later joined by infamous Hana Piranha on violin, cello and harp and renowned drummer Anna Mylee, the band have forged a musical path that’s a unique combination of their past and current passions. For their world debut, the four-piece from the UK joined Lordi as part of their Unliving Pictour Show. Dressed as deities of light and darkness, the band transform the stage into a sinister scene of flowers, thorns and animal skulls. Described as “ritualistic, even shamanic” their live performances are a blend of fragile beauty and fierce energy that pulls the audience into an unearthly world of their design, the world of Crimson Veil.

Brighton (UK) punks THE BAR STOOL PREACHERS have announced their new EP 'Below The Static', which features reimagined versions of songs from the bands 2022 album 'Above The Static'. The EP is out 13th September 2024 via Pure Noise Records. Speaking about the new EP the band said, "For this release, we really wanted to highlight how good the songwriting was. We were stoked with how well the album went down but we really wanted to expose some of the more vulnerable elements and fuck with the format a bit. To hear such strong fxmale vocals, and having heavy guitar riffs on cellos/violins etc. really got us excited about these songs again. Some of the versions are stripped right back to just a voice and one instrument. It's the band like you've never heard it before, and really breathes a different life into the songs."

“I wanted to create an honest musical reflection of my past year. Condition is an attempt to balance my perfectionist approach and the imperfections in day-to-day life. The album was made in my bedroom with some help from close friends.”

All music throughout is written, performed, mixed and mastered by Natty, with the exception of Living Lonely & Living Lonely (Reprise) in which he brought in his good friend and long-time collaborator, Simon Jefferis.
