Nach fünfzehn Jahren auf Welttournee mit La Femme kehrt Marlon Magnée nun als Solo-Künstler mit seinem Debütalbum Dark Star zurück, das ihn wieder mit seinen frühesten Leidenschaften verbindet. Die Platte spiegelt seinen Geschmack für ungewöhnliche Mischungen und eigenständige Stile wider: eine Kombination aus Rockabilly, Punk, Cold Wave und psychedelischem Psychobilly. Two vocal tracks and two instrumentals. The classic EP structure reflects the class act that is Fred Ventura and Paolo Gozzetti. Italoconnection are back at the Bordello weaving their synthesizer magic. And those analogue lines are what immediately wash over the listener in “Like A Star.” Crisp percussion and sailing melodies break to a glorious hook before Ventura’s unmistakable voice takes hold. Paying homage to Moroder’s “From Here To Eternity”, Italoconnection deliver a vocoder dipped love affair as smouldering vocals pitch ever higher. The instrumental strips back all lyrics, but allows the breathy keys to remain and keep that human touch amidst the addictive chords and rich textures. Bold machine brass introduces “Make It Real.” These blasts form the melodic backbone for this ballad to self-belief where Ventura’s impassioned words are impeccably coupled with Gozzetti’s sparkling synthwork. That synthwork comes to the fore in the finale. With lyrics pared back, the machines sing a different song as that energy packed melody is charged with even more intensity. A stunning 7" cut from the iconic 1995 debut album by Italian-Brazilian crossover unit Brazilian Love Affair, led by vocalist Dilene Ferraz.

Side A features "Natureza Humana," a Brazilian dancefloor take on Michael Jackson's mellow groove classic "Human Nature," a perennial favorite on mix CDs and club floors.

Side B delivers an uplifting samba-bossa cover of Earth, Wind & Fire's party anthem "Star."

Both tracks are essential Brazilian crossover gems from the golden era of '90s club culture.

Emerging through waves of reverberation and haze, ‘Deep Star’ unfolds as a submerged odyssey through Coma World’s distinct terrain of leftfield dub and psychedelia. The duo of Maxwell Hallett (Betamax) and Pete Bennie craft a sound that moves between meditative underwater drift and sharp, rhythmic pressure.

Each piece develops like a current, where bass resonance and percussive detail create an undertow of motion that guides the record’s flow. Beneath the murk, subtle shifts in tone and momentum reveal the album’s depth: flickers of tension and release that mirror the shifting light below the surface.

‘Deep Star’ captures Coma World at a point of lucid refinement, translating improvisation into form without losing its raw edge. Immersive and alive with motion, it’s a record that invites listening as descent—sound as gravity, pulling you deeper the longer you stay.

Composed by John Williams for George Lucas’s 2005 film "Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith," this soundtrack captures the tragic

A killer double-sided 7-inch single from DubXanne, led by the talented Guido Craveiro, transforming classic 80s hits into dub masterpieces!

This release features dub covers of two iconic tracks: The Buggles' 1979 global smash hit "Video Killed the Radio Star" and Kate Bush's 1985 hit "Running Up That Hill", both given a reggae twist.

This single is cut from DubXanne's 2023 album Popwave In Dub, a project helmed by Portuguese producer Guido Craveiro. The A-side offers a dub rendition of The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star", a song that became a worldwide sensation in 1979 and inspired countless covers. The B-side features a dub version of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill", a track that saw a resurgence in popularity thanks to Stranger Things Season 4. These familiar tunes are reimagined with brilliant reggae arrangements that breathe new life into the originals!

This is a harmonica-fuelled, hard hitting 8-track release.

I first heard about this incredible record from my friend and renowned collector Ian Wright back in the mid-2000s. Ian may well have been the first to feature it on a mixtape around that time.

He originally found his copy on eBay without a sound clip calling the seller to listen over the phone before taking a chance on it.

A true San Diego masterpiece, now highly sought after within the Modern Soul scene. Beyond that dedicated circle, it has remained largely unknown, due to its insane rarity.

Although Glen is sadly no longer with us, his legacy lives on through this stunning piece of music, which will finally get the attention it deserves on dancefloors all over the world.
