After last years Hyperdub debut with the popular 'Set The Tone' EP, Ossie's been busy building a name for himself, as a DJ and a producer with both Ossie and Black Orange Juice releases. He comes back to Hyperdub here with the 'Ignore EP', sporting two catchy, housey, broken beat bombs. 'Ignore' features the vocals of Tilz, singing about the game of winding up the opposite sex, over bouncy, broken drums, neat stabs, and a bendy acidic bassline, with wave-like chords building up and down as if in reflection of the cat and mouse antics of the lyrics. 'Find It' on the B-side makes good with layering some roughly cut up female vocal samples, Todd Edwards-style, but twisted and dubbed into strange shapes, incorporating sloppy, dusty drums and a bassline that sounds like Wiley's early eski beat melodies, keeping the track rolling along and sounding mischievous and chunky. This release continues Ossie's building reputation as a house producer with a very British sound.

Arriving at their fourth release, Emotional Rescue's knowledge of forgotten musical gems and their commitment to give them the chance of wider appreciation they fully deserve cannot be in question! After digging out that Bob Chance classic, the focus switches to something of an equally balearic nature with the release of Jaki Whitren & John Cartwright's lost folk rock album International Times. Originally released as a private press on the obscure French label Living Records back in 1983, this eight track album is filled with dusty soul nuggets which are given extra life by the silky vocal stylings of Whitren - formerly a backing singer for Alan Parson. Opening track "Stay Cool" sounds quite ahead of it's time, whilst there are some true dancefloor gems for the more adventurous DJs out there, such as the title track and the laid back bump of "Go With The Flow."

Der Titel des siebten Studioalbums der kalifornischen Punkrocker bezieht sich auf Mike Ness" doppelte musikalische Heimat. Der Songwriter und Sänger von Social Distortion huldigt auf "Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes" sowohl dem düsteren Amerika eines Hank Williams wie auch dem bluesigen Herumstolzieren der Rolling Stones etwa während der "Exile-On-Mainstreet"-Ära. Altbekannte Einflüsse, die hier jedoch in den Vordergrund treten: "Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes" ist das rockigste und gleichzeitig beseelteste Album der Gruppe, die weltweit über vier Millionen Alben verkaufte. Dennoch finden Fans den typischen Punkrock-Roar in jedem Stück wieder: vom Opener "California (Hustle and Flow)" bis zum düster-rockenden Hank-Williams-Cover "Alone and Forsaken". Aber auch Springsteen- und Tom-Petty-Fans dürften diesen Sound mögen. "Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes" ist das erste Album der Band nach "Sex, Love And Rock "n" Roll" aus dem Jahr 2004. Known in many circles for his wonderful dubstep excursions comes San Francisco native 'DJG' with his excellent take on Drum & Bass. This is his first release when it comes to D&B and we are very proud to be releasing these amazing tunes! Welcome aboard!

A. HYDRATE A deep menacing vibe kicks things off a a steady kick while claps and thick snare are sprinkled throughout leading up to a thunderous reese that will challenge any system. Muffled horns and vocals keep things interesting leading up to a subterranean breakout takes things into dubby territory! A truly wonderful piece of original music!

AA. HYDRATE ( CONSEQUENCE REMIX ) Known for his work with the Autonomic crew, Consequence seemed the perfect match to recreate an already wonderful tune and does a great job with this remix. A hazy intro with dusty crackles leads into the tune's signature kick with claps. Dubby stabs with a drawn out horn take things deeper before the bass punches through.

Consequence has taken his signature minimal sound and added upon the original for a truly deep, original recreation. These are the kind of remixes we like! Dub Dub Dub!!!

“Trash Can Lamb” is a new solo album from Akron, OH-based multi instrumentalist Keith Freund. For the better part of twenty years, Freund has been producing intimate, shape-shifting music on his own and as part of collaborative projects such as Trouble Books, Lemon Quartet, and Aqueduct Ensemble. Here, he concocts a heady, homespun broth of analog synthesis, bit-reduced sampling, piano, standup bass, saxophone, and location recordings, arriving at a loose and evocative set of songs. Throughout the album, we hear 8-bit experimental delays mangling airy acoustic materials, denaturalizing them into primitive loop structures while retaining their golden-hued, melodic cores. The sputters, hisses, and croaks of handmade electronics nuzzle up to wistful piano and saxophone ruminations; the pure pandemonium of chaotic triangle wave patching and filtered noise settles into the serenity of a backyard dusk full of spring peepers (or maybe they’re crickets…). It’s in the space between the ragtag and rough-hewn and the romantic and yearning that Freund situates these compositions; it’s a peek inside a workshop that sits atop the trees, branches scraping on the windows, bluejays who just won’t knock it off, a table fan spinning slower and slower, its cheap blades covered in dust.
