Private Funk-Shun were a band formed in 1984 originating from the Loughton and Tottenham areas of north east London & Essex, and featured the vocal talents of Maxeen Edman-Messam - who would later go on to find fame in the early 1990s as key street soul artist Maxeen.

Originally performing under the name of Slipstream, but changing to Private Funk-Shun in 1985 after finding out another group were operating under with the same name, they toured around London & South East bringing a dedicated brit-funk following with them. Despite writing approximately 20 original tracks in their time, this self-released two-track 7" from 1986 was their only official output and has since become a certified rare groove, fetching upwards of £250 on the secondhand market.

Killer funk compilation full of highlights from the music archives of Josef Weinberger Ltd. in London, pulled from the most famous library albums on labels like JW (Josef Weinberger/ Theme Music), IA (Impress) or PM (Programme Music). First selection of 16 lost tracks by Toni Campo, Midas Touch, Trevor Bastow, Sidney Dale or Vick Flick, oscillating between jazz-funk, soul music, proto techno and eastern-tinged disco, with open drum breaks, fat bass lines and plenty of horns/ wah wah/ organs/ vibes/ flutes/ electronic effects. Recorded from the master tapes, restored and mastered 2016 for 6-Page-Digipack-CD and limited vinyl LP, comparable to the best works of KPM, De Wolfe or Bosworth.

Anna funk damage is the grimiest side of Andrea Natale, a young producer from Livorno, Italy. EBM, post-punk, and electro fit perfectly in his mechanical rhythmics, highly pitched and bit wicked vocals transport you immediately in an immersive and mental soundscape. His projects have already been released on labels such as Mind Records, Tripalium Corp, Raw Culture and recently he has been featured on a compilation on Elena Colombi's Osare Editions. Both tracks were first released on the third & fourth volumes on Perfect Toy's Down In The Valley series. As lovers of the 7inch single format we thought it is a must to have these two songs available on a good old 45. Here you have it, complete with a sweet picture sleeve and limited to 300 copies.

Chrome features phat bassline, funky breakbeat and
otherworldly synths. The other Lucita track Last Lane Shu©e
gets busier with intricate rhythms and synth riffs that tell a
surreal story. On the §ipside, Anesthz starts with a rough
uptempo breakbeat and slowly introduces a super soulful
and funky bass pattern alongside some choice pads. The
second DJ Lifegoals track Parallax Vision introduces ultrafunky bassline and develops into a rich tapestry of sound.

Formed in 1968 by leader Clément Mélomé, T.P. Orchestre Poly-Rythmo became the leading group in Benin and the cornerstone of the Albarika Store label and legacy.

This collection brings together highlights from their extensive career, including tracks as ‘Gbeti Ma Djro’, ‘Segla’ and the collectable ‘It’s A Vanity’: wall-to-wall some of the finest Afro-Funk ever made.
