Die Musik der Band ist durch Dancefloor-Rhythmen und anzügliche Texte gekennzeichnet. Gleich die erste Single 'I’m Too Sexy' ging 1991 durch die Decke und verkaufte sich weltweit etwa drei Millionen Mal. In Großbritannien kletterte der Song bis auf # 2 der Charts, in den USA bis auf # 1. Damit schrieben Right Said Fred Musikgeschichte, denn seit den Beatles war es keiner britischen Band gelungen, drei Wochen in Folge den ersten Platz der US-amerikanischen Billboard-Charts mit einer Debütsingle zu belegen. Außerdem belegte ihr Debütalbum # 1 der britischen Charts. Sie haben zwei Ivor Novello Awards und vier BMI Awards (Broadcast Music Industry) gewonnen. Ganz nebenbei hatten sie u.a. Das fünfte Album von Laughing Stock ist eine Reflexion über die Magie der Musik und die Art und Weise, wie Musik den Lauf des Lebens in einem frühen Lebensabschnitt verändern kann. Laughing Stock möchte die Musik annehmen die den Musikern Anfang der 1980er eine neue Welt eröffnete - die Songs, die zu Songs für ihre Zukunft wurden. Dafür haben sie eine Vielzahl von Gästen rekrutiert, die in den Achtzigern populär waren. Vocals von Billy Sherwood (Yes), Colin Bass von Camel und sogar Colin Molding (XTC) sind an Bord. Saxofon von Steinar Børve und ein Horn-Trio unter der Leitung von Tobias Gustum Lindstad veredeln das Album zusätzlich. Es wurde von Jan M Sørensen und der Band produziert und gemischt sowie von Jacob Holm-Lupo gemastert. CD und stark limitierte, weiße LP.

Das Trio, in Rio de Janeiro gegründet, ist stark vom englischen und italienischen Prog Rock der 70er Jahre inspiriert, aber auch von traditioneller und populärer brasilianischer Musik beeinflusst, was ihnen einen besonderen und ziemlich einzigartigen Sound verleiht. Caravela Escarlates drittes Album ist eine neue Reise in alte Progressive-Rock-Wege. 'III' erinnert an historische Themen in verschiedenen Kontexten - Römisches Reich, Mittelalter, präkolumbianische Zivilisationen und Zeitalter der Entdeckungen. Das Cover-Artwork ist ein Gemälde des britischen Künstlers J.M.W. Turner, das den Ausbruch des Vesuvs darstellt, der Pompeji im Jahr 79 n. Chr. zerstörte. Die norwegischen experimentellen progressiven Thrasher Vorbid sind endlich mit neuer Musik zurück - vier Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung ihres von der Kritik gefeierten Debütalbums. Vorbid ist eine junge, frische und unglaublich energiegeladene Metal-Band aus Arendal, Norwegen. Die früheren Alben erhielten erstaunliche Kritiken und bekamen viel Aufmerksamkeit in den Medien, was ihnen Tourneen mit norwegischen Underground-Schwergewichten wie Aura Noir, Obliteration oder Einherjer einbrachte. 2023 sind Vorbid noch technisch anspruchsvoller und faszinierenderer zurückgekehrt und haben das noch Spiel intensiviert. Slegest hat - seit seiner Gründung durch Ex-Vreid-Gitarrist Ese im Jahr 2010 - raffinierten Heavy Metal mit musikalischen Wurzeln im Black Metal und klassischen Heavy Rock aus den 70er und 80er Jahren geliefert. 'Avstand' ist das vierte Album der Band. Inspiriert von Nietzsches 'Die Geburt der Tragödie' kreisen die Songs um das Ewige und Unendliche - gewissermaßen eine Sicht auf das Leben von innen heraus. Mit einer großartigen Mischung aus klassischem Heavy Metal, Rock'n'Roll und Black Metal ist 'Avstand' ein weiterer Geheimtipp im Nischenbereich ausgefallenerer Metal- und Rockmusik.

Velvets In The Dark was written in the wake of the death of Lou Reed and centres around being on the outside of those things most important in your life. Koala Bears is a remarkable song with a structure like no other featuring two young fugitives, fixated and so in love who when caught have their code word for “we say nothing”

Mit 'Terror Winds' kehren T.O.M.B. mit sechs Tracks, die nach altem, rohem, blasphemischem Black Metal riechen, und von einer faszinierenden symphonischen Atmosphäre und nekromantischen Noise-Klanglandschaften durchdrungen sind, zu ihren Friedhofswurzeln zurück. Das Album steht für epische Weiterentwicklung der Band, deren Black Metal-Feeling für die frühen 90er authentisch ist. Das Album wurde live in den Ossuary Studios in New York City aufgenommen und von Tore Stjerna in den Necromorbus Studios in Schweden gemastert. Im Laufe der über 20-jährigen Bandgeschichte haben T.O.M.B. hat kontinuierlich die Grenzen der extremen Musik überschritten, indem es Elemente aus Dark Ambient, Doom, Death Industrial und Power Electronics zu einem einzigartigen Stil von erschreckendem Black Metal Noise zusammengefügt hat. Es ist ein Stil, der der Band einen wohlverdienten Platz als einer der Top-Innovatoren des modernen Black Metal eingebracht hat.

The eponymous lead track bursts out of the gate with ebullience. Lee Ritter's
rhythms and Cord Amato's riffs fit comfortably in the space where Kraftwerk left
off and DEVO began. "Artificial Head" may be about a Fleshlight, or it could be a
paperback sci-fi-derived weed fantasy. You could listen to Møtrik while sober, but
why would you do that? Next up is the measured and groovy "Castle Electric"
which features a dialog between bassist/vocalist Erik Golts and a sexy computer.
His German is easily as good as her English and one wonders how the night
ended after she switched the lights "auf." Side one completes with "Unifox" built
up from a Dave Fulton synth composition into a full- fledged Møtrik track, this
being the first time the band has bucked its contrarian vision of a band that jams
in its own professional recording studio yet refuses to produce itself. "Outer
Reaches" is the patiently awaited sidelong epic. The contemplative and
exploratory scene begins with chirrups from an analog swamp, then slowly rises
through the hazy pastel atmosphere on a crystalline bubble before blasting off
into full- fledged Floydian outer space psych. As always, Møtrik colors between
the lines, applying its overall aesthetic to rock music, which is to say it's the
FORTRAN approach to basement partying. Artificial Head is just what your body

"...Das Cover weist schonmal in eine gute Richtung, da es auch recht viel Ambiente mit sich bringt. Als ich dann in "Pacification Of Death" eintauchen konnte, wurde trotzdem die Frage nach dem Genre nicht endgültig geklärt. Einerseits fühlt man sich in einigen Momenten an Death Metal erinnert (jedoch nicht der alten Schule aus den USA), viel öfter klingt das jedoch noch Black Metal, aber lässt sich auch hier nicht komplett einordnen. Doch wozu das ganze Geschwafel um das Genre, wenn wir es hier mit einem wirklich hochklassigen Album zu tun haben. Das Trio hat ein Brett eingespielt, das sich nicht so ganz einordnen lässt und das ist auch gut so, denn dadurch wird es spannend. Sechs Kompositionen finden sich auf dem Album und diese sind auch in sich recht abwechslungsreich..."

Jordsjø ist ein Duo aus Oslo, Norwegen, inspiriert von alten Horrorfilmen, deutscher Synth-Musik der 70er, schwedischem Prog, Fantasy-Romanen und der norwegischen Natur. Auf 'Jord Sessions' gibt es ein grundlegendes Thema von Entfremdung, Wurzeln und Träumen - mit einem organischen und dynamischen Sound, der Assoziationen an 70er Prog weckt, mit Spuren von elektronischer Musik und Folk. Viel Flöte, Gitarren und eine große Auswahl an Vintage-Synthesizern verleihen dem Album einen warmen Vintage-Sound, während es immer noch frisch und interessant klingt. Die Band besteht aus Multiinstrumentalist Håkon Oftung (Tusmørke, Black Magic) und Schlagzeuger Kristian Frøland.
