Frech, wild und ohne Kompromisse: THE HELLFREAKS verbinden modernen Metal mit rotzigem PunkEinschlag!
THE HELLFREKS, Ungarns rebellischster Punk/Metal Export, veröffentlichen am 14. April 2023 das neue Album, Pitch Black Sunset, über Napalm Records. Darauf liefert das Quartett aus Budapest eine packende Mischung aus Modern Metal und Post-Hardcore mit einschlägigen Skate Punk Elementen. Die 2009 gegründete Band kann bereits auf eine spannende Diskografie zurückblicken, die unter anderem Highlights wie den Psychobilly-Punk-Hit „Boogie Man“ enthält. THE HELLFREAKS sind in zahlreichen europäischen Ländern aufgetreten und eroberten die US-amerikanischen Bühnen auf ihrer Tournee im Jahr 2015.

Nun setzen sie mit ihrem fünften Album Pitch Black Sunset einen neuen Meilenstein mit ihrer einzigartigen Mischung aus Metal, Post Hardcore und Punk.

Bereits der Album-Opener „Old Tomorrows” ist ein gelungener Kick Off und erstklassiger Repräsentant, der mit groovigen Metalbeats und den intensiven, frechen Screams von Zsuzsa „Shakey Sue” Radnóti unmittelbar ein Ausrufezeichen setzt und die In-Your-Face-Attitüde der Band hervorhebt. THE HELLFREAKS demonstrieren zudem gekonnt ihre Qualität als individuelle Musiker, während sie mühelos schwere Riffs mit starken Beats und aggressiven Shouts verschmelzen lassen. The Flaming Lips veröffentlichten 2002 "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots", welches das meistverkaufte Album der Band ist und in den USA mit über 700.000 verkauften Alben mit Gold ausgezeichnet wurde.
Das Album enthält einen der kultigsten Songs der Band - "Do You Realize?" - sowie die Singles Fight Test, Ego Tripping at the Gates
of Hell und den Titeltrack. Die 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition 5 LP Vinyl Box Set enthält das Originalalbum, B-Seiten, Demos und Radiosessions sowie weitere Raritäten. Del Jones, a poet, and proto-rapper, recorded Court is Closed in 1973. It was underground Philadelphia’s response to Amiri Baraka’s and Gil Scott-Heron’s indictments of the Black American experience - a call to action not just for his city, but for the nation. The set includes an oversized 10 page booklet by Jeremy Cargill, with contributions by Now-Again founder Eothen “Egon” Alapatt which delves into Jones’ music, milieu and life as an author, activist and orator, shining a light not only on his prescient awareness of hip-hop, but also on the struggles he confronted, and his urgent, current mandate. Court is Closed, equal parts psychedelic rock and deep funk, had a limited release of 500 copies and was rarely heard before Jones overdubbed horns on the album, remixed and augmented it with additional music, and issued it as the better-known Positive Vibes. Here we present both versions of the album on the 23rd release in the deluxe Now-Again Reserve Edition series. Jones’ story, and that of his family, is like his music: a loud, vital voice long silenced. Understanding it now is not just a visceral musical experience, but an essential dissection of racism and classism in America.

Es geht ihrer Piraterie-Thematik voraus und hat hauptsächlich satanisch beeinflusste Texte, enthält aber auch Lieder mit anarchistischen und libertären (im Sinne des europäischen Libertarismus) Themen.
Es war ein Teil von Gerald "Preacher" Warneckes Theologiestudium. Er verließ die Band kurz nach der Veröffentlichung des Albums, um Priester zu werden.
Diese spezielle gelbe Vinyl-Version ist eine limitierte Auflage.

Death Metal dieser Art beruft sich auf die primitivsten, ungezähmten Instinkte und rückt vor wie ein Panzerkonvoi durch besetztes Gebiet, rücksichtslos gegenüber allem und jedem, der sich ihm in den Weg stellt.

Vom Opener "Final Virus" bis zum abschließenden "Collapse Metropolis" beschwören Kommand die Vision einer dystopischen Höllenlandschaft mit Städten, die permanent von schweren Waffen unter Beschuss stehen, und jenen Unglücklichen, die den Ansturm überlebt haben. "Death Age" hinterlässt somit einen endgültigen Epitaph auf dem blutigen Müllhaufen der nahen Zukunft.
