Limitiertes Farbvinyl von Teil #4 der "Here, Hear" Serie von einer der renommiertesten und ältesten Emo-Post-Rock-Bands der Szene, La Dispute. Die 2007 ins Leben gerufene Serie gibt interessierten Hörern Einblicke hinter dem Vorhang des Songwritings, um durch zusätzlichen musikalischen und lyrischen Kontext das Verständnis für Themen und Ideen der Alben zu vertiefen.

Die aktuelle Version des Projekts ändert im Laufe seiner Geschichte regelmäßig Formen, Ansätze und Medien und besteht aus Aufforderungen zum kreativen Schreiben, die von einem einzelnen Mitglied eingeführt und befolgt werden, bevor sie nacheinander an die anderen weitergegeben werden, um in einer Art musikalischem Telefonspiel Beiträge zu leisten. Das Endergebnis sind Songs, die Schicht für Schicht, Mitglied für Mitglied, geschrieben und aufgenommen wurden, rund um einen zentralen Vorschlag oder eine zentrale Einschränkung, die ausführlich auf Patreon und in aufgezeichneten Podcast-Gesprächen diskutiert werden, in denen die Erfahrung analysiert wird.

‘EVERYTHING IS HERE’ is a journey through space and time, inspired by the more rarefied aspects of prog rock and the wistful side of psychedelia.


Fusing these influences with the accessibility of French electronic and the groove of R&B and disco, this album depicts the sweet dizziness of contemplation. Nostalgic, yet determined and modern in it’s genre blending, the first album of Kartell truly reveals what’s been underlining in his previous EP.

Taking influences in the space and dream pop aesthetic, the musical approach of the album embraces the 60’s and 70’s fascination for outer space, exotic locations, technologies and science fiction which was on the edge of becoming reality.

Nebulous textures and otherworldly sounds characteristic of space rock are infused throughout the record, while keeping a focus on making catchy songs, leaning on a minor-key groove and a pop yearning. It’s also a challenge and an artistic proposition to gather a wide range of genres to tell a story. Densely produced and cinematic, the album draws a truly living landscape where live bass, drums and guitars hold the line, evolving around hazy effects and synthesizer layers.

Good Looks write kindhearted and cathartic rock songs about the persistence required to make it through hard times. In April 2022, the Austin, Texas quartet released their critically acclaimed debut `Bummer Year'. Immediately after their triumphant hometown record release show, lead guitarist Jake Ames was hit by a car crossing the street, fracturing his skull and tailbone. Thankfully, Ames made a full recovery. The traumatic accident strengthened the bond that built their electric new album `Lived Here For A While'. Out May 3 via Keeled Scales, it's fearlessly direct music that captures the fullthroated intensity of their galvanizing live show. Reinvigorated, Good Looks tracked `Lived Here for a While' at Texas' Dandy Sounds with producer/engineer Dan Duszynski (of Loma and Cross Record) the following summer. Though Ames had to relearn some of his parts, his palpably energetic performances elevated the entire record. On the LP, the band trades the Americana sound that colored in the lines of `Bummer Year' for clanging post-punk guitars and expansive indie rock. Lyrically, the songs on this album are healing meditations on family dysfunction, new relationships, and how a home can become unrecognizable. Lyricist Tyler Jordan's songs explore how relationships can crumble irrevocably but also how those partnerships can be centering, hopeful, and exciting. In another horrific accident in July 2023, their tour van was rearended by a speeding car, causing their van, instruments, merch, and records, to go up in flames. Thankfully, none of the band members suffered serious injuries. This resilience is essential to Good Looks and why the songs on `Lived Here For A While' resonate so profoundly.
