Known for his range of style and skilled songwriting, KxllSwxtch has become a household name in the underground community, and has become even more well-known in recent years by openly sharing his bouts with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, in hopes of helping others who can relate. An enigmatic and genre-bending artist, blending elements rap, heavy metal, emo and grunge, KxllSwxtch first exploded onto the scene with a number of singles in 2017, followed by his debut album, KILL!, in 2020. As AllMusic reviewer Bruce Elder notes, the album is weighted about three to one in favor of Charles' own compositions, with the hits "Hallelujah I Love Her So" and the pounding, soaring "Ain't That Love," which opens the LP, its raison d'etre. Charles does just as well with his interpretations of others' work, most notably the ominous, gospel-focused rendition of "Sinner's Prayer" (which offers a virtuoso piano performance, and comes courtesy of the pen of Charles' former mentor Lowell Fulson) and Henry Glover's wrenching ballad "Drown in My Own Tears," which is topped out on each verse by a gorgeous chorus. "Don't You Know" is as salacious a piece of R&B as one was likely to hear in 1957, and "I Got a Woman" closes the record out on a pounding, driving note. 1975 was a banner year for superstar Alice Cooper with the release of the groundbreaking concept album Welcome To My Nightmare. This album showcases Cooper's theatricality, storytelling prowess, and ability to create an immersive world of horror and fantasy.

From the opening notes of the title track, "Welcome to My Nightmare," listeners are transported into a dark and twisted dreamscape. Released in 1960, Giant Steps was a watershed album for John Coltrane, solidifying the saxophone legend's reputation as one of the most influential and innovative musicians in jazz history, as well as delivering jazz to an increasingly mainstream audience, while garnering significant critical acclaim.

Although this was John Coltrane's debut for Atlantic, he was concurrently performing and recording with Miles Davis. Within the space of less than three weeks, Coltrane would complete his work with Davis and company on another genre-defining disc, Kind of Blue, before commencing his efforts on this one.

Coltrane (tenor sax) is flanked here by essentially two different trios. Recording commenced in early May of 1959 with a pair of sessions that featured Tommy Flanagan (piano) and Art Taylor (drums), as well as Paul Chambers — who was the only bandmember other than Coltrane to have performed on every date. When recording resumed in December of that year, Wynton Kelly (piano) and Jimmy Cobb (drums) were instated — replicating the alternate non-Bill Evans lineup featured on "Freddie the Freeloader" on Kind of Blue, sans Miles Davis of course. At the heart of these recordings, however, is the laser-beam focus of Coltrane's tenor solos.

All seven pieces issued on the original Giant Steps are Coltrane compositions. He was, in essence, beginning to rewrite the jazz canon with material that would be centered on solos — enabling the solo to become infinitely more compelling. This would culminate in a frenetic performance style using melodic phrasing that noted jazz journalist Ira Gitler accurately dubbed "sheets of sound."

The Giant Steps chord progression consists of a distinctive set of chords that create key centers a major third apart. Jazz musicians ever since have used it as a practice piece, its difficult chord changes presenting a "kind of ultimate harmonic challenge", and serving as a gateway into modern jazz improvisation. Several pieces on this album went on to become jazz standards, most prominently "Naima" and "Giant Steps."

The Penguin Guide to Jazz selected this album as part of its suggested "Core Collection" calling it "Trane's first genuinely iconic record." In 2003, the album was ranked No. 102 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, 103 in a 2012 revised list, and 232 in a 2020 revised list.

If I Could Only Remember My Name was the debut solo record from David Crosby. Recorded in 1970 after the passing of his girlfriend Christine and released in February of 1971, the album explores themes including loss and disorientation. The album features a who's who of contributors from the San Francisco Bay area including Paul Kantner and Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane, Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, and Santana, and his cohort from Los Angeles including Graham Nash, Neil Young, and Joni Mitchell.

The album has attained a cult status throughout the last 50 years, hailed for its spooky, psychedelic, and truly unique sounds.

AllMusic gave the album 4.5 stars, with reviewer Stanton Swihart writing: "With his ringing, velvety voice — the epitome of hippie crooning — and inspired songwriting, he turns If I Could Only Remember My Name into a one-shot wonder of dreamy but ominous California ambience."

The film features, for the first time, actor / stuntman Kane Hodder, as Jason Voorhees. Hodder would go on to portray Jason in numerous Friday The 13th films.

Discovered by friends of Martin Hannett and with input from one of his relatives,these recordings give a rare insight into his production ideas for Joy Division and his relationship with the band.,the strange things/ sound effects they recorded in the studio together etc etc. The studio chit chat and interplay between Hannett, Gretton and Joy Division members is all here as Martin left his own tape machine running throughout studio sessions. On this album we have rare alternative mixes of Joy Division that were Martin's personal favourites and he had the forethought to get the band members to give him control of these recordings. A must for all Joy Division fans.

"Waxwork Records is thrilled to present BODY DOUBLE Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Pino Donaggio. Body Double is a 1984 American neo-noir erotic thriller film directed, co-written, and produced by Brian De Palma (Carrie, Scarface, Phantom of the Paradise). It stars Craig Wasson, Gregg Henry, Melanie Griffith, and Deborah Shelton. The film is a direct homage to the 1950s films of Alfred Hitchcock taking on plot lines and themes such as voyeurism and obsession.

The film tells the story of a struggling actor, Jake Scully, who is offered a gig house-sitting in the Hollywood Hills. While peering through the beautiful home’s telescope one night, he spies on a gorgeous woman dancing in her window. But, when Scully witnesses the woman’s murder, it leads him through an underworld of the adult entertainment industry on a search for answers, with porn actress Holly Body as his guide.

After fighting censorship boards over the rating of his film Scarface - initially rated X and having to battle to make it R - Brian De Palma resolved to make Body Double as a pushback. At the time he said, “If this one doesn’t get an X, nothing I ever do is going to. This is going to be the most erotic and surprising and thrilling movie I know how to make… I’m going to give them everything they hate and more of it than they’ve ever seen. They think Scarface was violent? They think my other movies were erotic? Wait until they see Body Double.”

The film’s memorable soundtrack by legendary composer Pino Donaggio (Carrie, Tourist Trap, The Howling, Don’t Look Now) features memorable and influential cues including the standout track “Telescope”. The dynamic soundtrack music also features striking and exciting orchestral cues that are a throwback to classic Hollywood thrillers coupled with synth driven, electronic dance cues which complement the excessive 1980’s neon-washed porn industry in which the film is set.

After being out of print for decades, End Hits Records has partnered with the Swedish hardcore punk legends ABHINANDA to re-release their complete discography on vinyl. Founded in 1992 in Umea, now recognized as a European punk hub, ABHINANDA played a significant role in shaping the history and development of the 90's hardcore scene. Alongside their contemporaries REFUSED (with whom they frequently shared and swapped members), they were instrumental in the international breakthrough and popularization of Scandinavian hardcore. Much credit for this goes to singer Jose Saxlund, who, along with Dennis Lyxzen (Refused, Int. Noise Conspiracy), operated the Straight Edge label "Desperate Fight" and played a vital role in consistently releasing recordings from the thriving Swedish scene. Finally, the entire ABHINANDA discography will be available once again, this time on strictly limited vinyl: The five-vinyl box set comes in an elegant cardboard slipcase, with each individual record housed in a gatefold cover and accompanied by a large-format poster. Additionally, there are numerous never-before-seen pictures, along with detailed liner notes/interviews featuring band members and contemporaries such as Dennis Lyxzen (Refused), Vique Simba (Revelation Records, Simba Zine+Records), Sara Almgren (Doughnuts, Int. Noise Conspiracy), and Kate Tucker-Reddy (108). The box set includes the three full-length albums "Senseless," "Self Titled," and "The Rumble," as well as a double LP featuring all demo recordings, EPs, and 7" tracks. The music has been completely remastered, and the artwork has been entirely updated.

Die New Wave Of British Heavy Metal Band Apocalypse aus London wurde um 1980 von Gitarrist Steve Grainger gegründet. Die Band ging aus zwei Bands im Norden Londons hervor. Phaze und Stone Lady. Ursprünglich verließen Nick Brent, Dave (MEX) Higgen (Stone Lady) und Marc und Steve Grainger (Phaze) Mex die Band, um eine andere Richtung einzuschlagen und das Octave Studio und die PA Company in Nordlondon zu gründen. Nach kleineren personellen Problemen mit einer anderen Band gleichen Namens änderte die Band ihren Namen in Omega und nahm die Nummer "Blood Sacrifice" für die eher obskure "Metal Warriors"-Compilation von Ebony auf (erschienen 1983). "The Prophet" wurde ursprünglich 1985 auf Rock Machine (im Grunde eine Unterabteilung des Punk-Labels Razor Records) veröffentlicht. Die Besetzung bestand aus Dave Robertson (Bass, Gesang), Nick Brent (Gitarren, Gesang), Steve Grainger (Leadgitarren, Keyboards, Gesang) und Graham Roberts (Schlagzeug). Die High Roller Wiederveröffentlichung des Albums kommt mit neuem, hochwertigem Cover-Artwork. Die CD-Ausgabe enthält unveröffentlichte Demoaufnahmen von "Summertime", "Heat of the Night", "Abandon Hope", "Blood Sacrifice" und "The Child" als exklusives Bonusmaterial.
