The iconic collective CSNY became both a symbol for Woodstock and the late 1960s counterculture sweeping across America. While
the internal dynamics of the band would soon determine its fate, CSNY would prevail by providing generations with a definitive
soundtrack of the period as well as an immense body of inspiring songs that would endure through the decades. The 1970-74
timeline is a golden one for the singer/songwriter and here are four of its finest authors, performing together, on stage as one.

Expanded reissue of their 1980 classic Featuring the hits “Me And The Boys,” “Never Take The Place Of You,” plus four bonus tracks Packaging contains new liner notes from original Engineer Tom Mark • Available on LP, CD, and Digital Over a decade into their career, NRBQ entered Bearsville Studios and recorded their eighth album. The line-up featured Terry Adams (keyboards), Joey Spampinato (bass), Tom Ardolino (drums) and Al Anderson (guitar), plus The Whole Wheat Horns (Donn Adams and Keith Spring). The end result was Tiddlywinks, which contained the singles “Me And The Boys” and “Never Take The Place Of You.” It immediately became another fan favorite NRBQ classic album, and provided an entry point for new a new audience to come on board as “Me And The Boys” garnered repeat airplay on radio stations across the country. Now, over four decades later, Tiddlywinks returns. This time, four bonus tracks are added to the mix; “I Don’t Think Of…” and “Big Goodbyes” – recorded during the Tiddlywinks sessions and released on 1983’s Tapdancin’ Bats collection, plus the Radio and TV Spots originally issued on the flip side of the “Never Take The Place Of You” 7” single. Featuring updated artwork and liner notes from original engineer Tom Mark (who had worked with the band on At Yankee Stadium), the Tiddlywinks experience is now complete. The album’s seemingly brief tracklisting belies a work of great beauty and depth, and one which turned into a one-man crusade for singer/guitarist Lars Andersson, intertwining deeply personal stories with his love for the era of Romanticism. “Every time I go to a museum and I’m about to pass through the era of Romanticism I stop in awe,” says Lars of the enduring appeal of the 18th century artistic movement. “Whatever it is – stories, paintings, music – it triggers something deep within me, something profoundly human. It really hits a nerve, and it utterly immerses me to a point where I can’t move.” The album replicates this feeling; a gloriously over-the-top blend of Slowdive and Sigur Rós, mixed with the single-mindedness of Daniel Johnston and the noisiness of Nirvana, it’s as bold and beautiful and every bit as ornate as the art that inspired it. Unlike their acclaimed debut, 2019’s All That Ever Could Have Been, which gradually came into focus with a 15-minute opening track, Picturesque hits home from the very first note of the short and sweet opener, ‘Ballerina’. That’s not to say there aren’t epics here – ‘Metamorphosis’ is essentially a 12-minute suite of three movements; blistering closer ‘The Lot’ is 11 minutes of Swans-inspired heaviness – but everything is much more direct and focused. This isn’t an album to lose yourself in, it’s one to get swept away by. “‘More is more’ was definitely the credo when making this record,” agrees Lars. “A big inspiration were bands like Pond and the way they manage to fill their songs up with stuff to the absolute maximum. While I definitely tried to give the listener some room to breathe at certain points and while, in good old post-rock fashion, it still builds up and breaks down, it relies much more on simple melody and harmony as opposed to noisy experimentation to transport feeling.” Never more so than on the first single, ‘The Golden Age’, which is the album’s centrepiece; a soaring slice of über-shoegaze that is so stunning you can’t take your eyes or ears off it. Like all the songs on the album, it’s based around a fairy-tale from the Romantic era. In this case, it’s Heinrich von Ofterdingen by the German poet, author and philosopher Novalis (other influences are: The Steadfast Tin Soldier by Hans Christian Andersen; The Seven Ravens and Hans in Luck by the Brothers Grimm; Undine by Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué and The Golden Pot by E.T.A. Hoffmann), with Lars drawing parallels between the titular character’s mystical and romantic searchings and his own personal quest. This is apt as the album has been an overriding obsession for Lars for the past two-and-a-half years; as well as writing and recording the songs (bandmate Phillip Dornauer played drums), he also mixed and mastered them at his Alpine Audio studio and Picturesque is very much his Brian Wilson or Kevin Shields moment. MOLLY were in the middle of their European tour when Covid hit in early 2020, forcing Lars to retreat back to his home outside Innsbruck and giving him time and space to think about every detail of the record. “Well, I was on a quest I guess,” he admits. “Like everyone, I was stranded at home and at some point I just said to myself, ‘If not now, then when?’ It was an intense process. I’ve worked on music from other bands and artists before but producing and mixing your own music is an utterly different animal. It was probably the most intense thing I’ve ever done, but it was also incredibly rewarding and the feeling of it all coming together piece by piece is incomparable.” The artwork is just as effective. “I think of Radiohead’s OK Computer – what you hear on the record is what you see on the cover,” explains Lars. “We were inspired by what we call ‘wimmelbilder’ hidden pictures in German, a very specific style in art where there are a lot of little things happening. When you see it from further away, it looks organic like a lost painting from the area of Romanticism, but the closer you look the more digital it gets. It’s a nice analogy.” He’s right, it perfectly sums up the conflict between Romanticism and 21st century life. “Romanticism was basically an answer to the Industrial Revolution as well as the social and political norms of the Age Of Enlightenment,” concludes Lars. “Now, we all live in a much more industrialised, materialistic, individualistic and sterile society than any early Romanticist could have ever possibly imagined. ‘Ruk’ (A1) is a spatial builder. The glitched-out mover presents a delicate exercise in restraint, its skeletal rhythms gradually enveloped within a haze of sound design and dubbed out synth lines.

In six short minutes the track builds into a continuous ascension of synthetic tension, resulting in a deceptively lethal club joint.

A2’s ‘Uninvited’ is a frantic club screamer. A real shake-the-rave bouncer capable of serious floor damage. Pro-tier mixing holds together a speed demon barrage of percussive hits and shrieking resonance. This deadly cut, much like the record as a whole, manages to sustain a flare of intimacy even in its most punishing moments.

The B-side counterbalances the deadly with the delicate.

‘2b’ (B1) leans into the warm and melodic, perhaps the most direct manifestation of the EP’s title. A heart wrenching bloom unfolds, enveloping the listener like a warm hug as the lights come on in the wee hours. The track is an immaculate sketch of raw emotion, deep tenderness mapped out through Cleyra’s distinct brand of innovative composition. ‘Triumph’ closes out the record with some wonky no-nonsense chug action. A hypnotic low-slung groover which packs a final sting towards the end. One for the headbangers.

From start to finish ‘Soft Bloom’ is a striking feat of sonic creation, guaranteed to subvert listener’s expectations and dancer’s footsteps alike.

This year it is 20 years since David & the Citizens released their debut
album "For All Happy Endings" a fact that we are now celebrating by
releasing it on orange vinyl for the first time
Now we can finally hear hits like "Now She Sleeps In A Box In The Good Soil Of
Denmark", "I've Been Floating Upstream Since We Parted" and "Pink Evening" in
new vinyl mastered versions. Music climate looked very different in 2002, band as
David & the Citizens were able to tour all over and out in Europe, indie pop
flourished with a steadily growing audience. David & the Citizens were one of the
leading artists with their anxious lyrics mixed with euphoric intense pop songs,
with diligent touring during the 5 years they were active, they acquired a very loyal
fan base, which continues to this day.

The Younger Than Me debut on Warning hits hard with two powerful original cuts and sharp remixes. The Early Sound Of Nothing is a deep Rave belter driven by the 90s reminiscences that YTM is known and loved for. Maruwa gently coats his production in a slick mix of uplifting House and funky Trance, perfect for an energetic morning workout. On the flip Counter Future turns up the tempo creating a meltdown of choral Jumpstyle vibes before the EP gets finished with another rework by Sophie du Palais who takes the track into a mean bath for a round of sinister Ketamine sex.

Many music fans will remember Jimmy Salcedo due to his wonderful work as arranger and producer with the duo Elia and Elizabeth in the early 70s. Their delicate songwriting acquired, after his treatment, a special Tropical aroma that even included the funk influences received by Salcedo at that time. He released with his band, La Onda Tres, a few LPs and singles that had a limited distribution, mainly in Colombia only. This anthology comprises a selection of songs that celebrate Salcedo's sound signature: a base of coastal funk with vocals and melodic bubblegum-bomb arrangements and hints of light psychedelia. Many of the compiled songs became popular radio hits in Colombia that Jimmy Salcedo and La Onda Tres recorded and arranged at the Zeida studios in Medellín. These recordings include Latin-jazz tracks ('Mira') with stunning percussion solos, songs recorded under a heavy Caribbean-soul influence ('­Qué linda es Colombia!' and 'Lo mismo de siempre') 'Maranguango', an irresistible mix of Afrolatin percussion and catchy Tropical harmonies spiced up with moog keyboard sounds, fuzz and wah wah guitars and even touches of hammond, in a psychedelic funk style, an exhilarating moog driven instrumental with a heavy Afro-funk rhythm ('Moogambo') and revisited Latin classics ('Moliendo Café').

Bongos, bouzouki and Farfisa organ galore ! The explosive cocktail of rock'n'roll and traditional Tsifteteli hailing from 1960's Greece is still alive thanks to Deli Teli : the Marseille-based quartet performs a string of forgotten hits that once set Athens on fire, with a contagious energy and a subtle dose of Mediterranean drama.

Half a century ago, while French seasiders would dance to « Yéyé » sounds and dig the Beatles or Pink Floyd, a whole other scene was happening further along the coastline. Notably, Greek artists were a huge influence beyond the Mediterranean cradle ; Aris San's version of « Boum Pam » (a.k.a. « Bros Gremos Kai Piso Rema »), brilliantly interpreted by Deli Teli on this record, was a n°1 hit from Southern Europe to the tip of India ! Far from being an exclusive Greek sound, Tsifteteli music has travelled through borders for centuries and means « double string » in Turkish. In the 1960's, it mixed with rock'n'roll, surf and Latin-american influences, and gave birth to the typical « Laïko » sound.

With their powerful electric bouzouki (Greek lute) and the distinctive sound of the Farfisa organ, Deli Teli have carved their style while digging through the incredible goldmine of the late 60's and early 70's Tsifteteli/Laïko singles. The 4 musicians met in 2019 with a burning desire to dive into electric sensations – bassist Christos Karypidis used to play oud and keyboardist Arthur Bacon played accordion in most of his former projects – and made the most of 2020's « lockdowns » by building their repertoire and thinking up Deli Teli.

On this mini-album, they also interpret Koko's « Chily Chily », a groovy belly-dance mover ; « Ekso Dertia Kai Kaïmi », an intoxicating and frenetic floor shaker ; « Tsiftetelli 1969 », a cool organ-lead surfing instrumental ; and 2 slightly freer and more psychedelic numbers, « Taksim Deli » (improvisation) and « Bournelis », a creative re-arrangement of 2 tracks by Leonardos Bournelis.

British producer Jonathan Hipgrave aka Jonny3snareS hits the right snare - as the Dutch say - with his brand new Parasol EP on Utrecht's 030303 Records. Formed in Scotland in 1979, APB were a post-punk trio blending edgy
guitars with funk and new wave sounds
The band had many early 80s alternative radio and rock dance club hits including
‘Shoot You Down’, ‘Rainy Day’ and ‘Palace Filled With Love’.
New York-based Link Records originally issued ‘Something To Believe In’ in 1985,
and the ten- song title was perceived at the time to be APB's debut album
although it was actually a compilation drawn from the band's previous eight
independent singles. The band's 1981 debut single ‘Chain Reaction’ is now added
as a bonus track to the vinyl release, while that song and an additional five tracks
will appear on the expanded edition CD. ‘Danceability’ will appear in its original
mix on the vinyl LP, while the CD will feature the song in its extended ‘Danceability
Parts 1 & 2’ form.
"When I bought the second APB single, 'Shoot You Down'. I was blown away by
the pure energy and sparse funk groove that drove the record." said Matt Pinfield,
former host of MTV's 120 Minutes. "Over the course of the next few years, I saw
the band live about 15 times. They would always pack clubs in New York, New
Jersey, and Long Island -- anywhere they received airplay." In 2018's Beastie Boy
Book, band member Adam "Ad-Rock" Horowitz referred to ‘Shoot You Down’ as a

In 2022, APB remains an active touring band, which includes original members
Slater, Roberts and Cheyne. Over the decades, APB's sparse, rhythmic sound has
influenced everyone from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Franz Ferdinand. A new

punk, psychedelia & kraut rock with a second and very percussive album

Coco (guitar and bass), Hugo (drums and drum machine), Morgan (vocals and
guitar) and Theo (bass and Korg MS-20 synthesizer) have decided to beef up its
sound by moving towards more krautrock, post punk and electronic sounds in
order to obtain an explosive mix more sharper and efficient than ever, as it
synthesizes the saturations of punk and kraut with a cleaner and more percussive
sound driven by drum machines and other fiddling.
Noche Triste is a real kraut punk gem that can be swallowed in one go like a shot
of tequila and that you will want to put on replay instantly. This album clearly
allows Guadal Tejaz to pass a notch above with evocative name hits like "Valley
of Hate" or "Krautoxic". That track keeps all the promises of its title, because it
mixes with a DIY mastery a kind of ultra stirring synthetic kraut with a stentor
punk vocal that makes you particularly addicted, without forgetting a wah- wah
guitar that slams hard and drives the whole.
