Animistic Resonance marks a new stage for artist and electronic musician Leslie García, as it is her first album under her own name, following several releases as Microhm and her parallel work as founder of the contemporary art studio Interspecifics, where she has developed an extensive body of sonic projects presented in major museums and programs around the world. The album is the culmination of a profound and extended exploration of sound as language. It is also a statement against the classicism of long-form ambient pieces. Narratively, each track is conceived as a finely detailed work that functions as a condensed temporal fragment, each with its own individuality while simultaneously forming part of a broader universe.

The compositional language of the album draws on minimalist structures, deep listening strategies, and experimental approaches to electronic sound. Each track offers a meditation on repetition, density, and micro-variation, unfolding like a sonic landscape shaped by temporal tension and perceptual ambiguity. Animistic Resonance resists categorization, situating itself between ambient, noise, and abstract rhythm, while grounding its aesthetic in a Latin American sensibility that embraces technological poetics, affective depth, and critical imagination.

The album invites listeners to move beyond the surface and inhabit a world of vibrational and animistic temporalities. It offers a refuge in sound, a suspended space where calm can emerge. In the midst of contemporary turbulence, Animistic Resonance opens the door to imagining new ways of listening and feeling, demanding an embodied and visceral form of engagement.

Ob clubtaugliche Beats, eingängige Hooks oder gefühlvolle Vocals – das Album zeigt Gestört aber GeiL in
Bestform und schlägt zugleich auch immer neue aktuelle klangliche Wege ein.
Die 18 Titel erzählen Geschichten von Liebe, Sehnsucht, Freiheit und Hoffnung – Themen, die das Duo
seit jeher mit einem feinen Gespür für Atmosphäre und Timing in tanzbare Songs verwandelt.
Neben den Neukompositionen zeigen sie auf diesem Album auch wieder ihr untrügliches Gespür für Remixe
und eigenen Club Edits von bekannten Songs, wie zum Beispiel ihre Versionen von Madonna’s Klassiker
„Like A Prayer“ oder Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse Of The Heart.

mit Spannung erwartetes Tschaikowsky-Album!
Der Starpianist erkundet darin ausgewählte Werke von Tschaikowsky für Klavier solo. Diese offenbaren die
intimere, private Seite des romantischen Komponisten, denn „Tschaikowsky war kein mürrischer Sonderling,
sondern pflegte vor allem in jüngeren Jahren sehr fröhliche Freundschaften und fand großen emotionalen
Rückhalt in seiner Familie“, sagt Trifonov.
Zu hören sind die frühe Klaviersonate in cis-Moll, „ein zu Unrecht übersehenes Meisterwerk“, welches
reich an wechselnden Stimmungen und originellen Ideen ist, das Thème original et variations in F-Dur und
das Kinderalbum op. 39. Zusammen eröffnen diese Werke einen Einblick in das, was Daniil Trifonov die
„private Ebene Tschaikowskys“ nennt – „einen Geist, geprägt von Erinnerungen an Jugend und Familie“.
Das Album endet mit der farbenprächtigen Suite aus Dornröschen. Diese wurde 1978 von dem damals erst
21-jährigen Pianisten und Dirigenten Mikhail Pletnev transkribiert, der im selben Jahr – genau wie Trifonov
33 Jahre später im Jahr 2011 mit einem spektakulären Sieg – den Internationalen Tschaikowsky-Wettbewerb
gewann. Pletnevs Bearbeitung für Soloklavier von Highlights aus dem beliebten Tschaikowsky-Ballett ist
für Daniil Trifonov „ein meisterhaftes Klavierwerk in sich“.

Das selbstbetitelte vierte Album von Purity Ring markiert den Beginn eines mutigen neuen Kapitels als das bisher eindringlichste Werk der Band. Lange bekannt für ihre Verschmelzung von Body-Horror-Bildern und ätherischer Elektronik, verlagert das Duo nun seinen Fokus vom Physischen zum Fantastischen und kreiert ein Konzeptalbum, das als Soundtrack zu einem imaginären RPG dient. Inspiriert von Spielen wie Nier Automata und Final Fantasy X, erzählt das Album die Geschichte zweier unglücklicher Charaktere - Verkörperungen von mj und Corin - auf einer Reise, um inmitten der Ruinen einer zerbrochenen Welt eine freundlichere Welt aufzubauen. Aber dies ist keine eskapistische Fantasie: Es ist der erste Schritt zu verbotenen Träumen, zur Vorstellung eines Ortes, an dem die Schwachen beachtet werden, an dem Trauer laut ausgesprochen und gemeinsam getragen wird, an dem Familie eher ein Verb als ein Substantiv ist, an dem Hoffnung und Heimat gemeinsam aufblühen können.

Portland was produced by our mate Dave Clark aka Sparky and was the first record we released in 2002, about a year before the first ever Numbers party took place.

Originally recorded live to tape using an MMT8, a Microwave II, and an ESi32 in the summer of 1998, it was released on an old label of ours named Stuffrecords and formed part of a somewhat rambling compilation called STUFF001. We hastily stuck this record out without any proper distribution, because at the time we didn't know any better. Despite this the record did pretty well, selling 500 copies to a few select stores who had faith in what we were doing.

Fast forward a year or so to when Numbers kicked off and the track became one of the first bonafide anthems in the club. It was our tune and it would tear the roof off at any of our parties.

A couple of years later, we booked DJ Pete, aka Substance, to play. We're talking about the record in the pub when he suddenly informs us that Ricardo Villalobos is crazy about it and even charted it. This was a deep, almost Drexciyan electro track and here was the king of crazy experimental minimal house music caning it in his DJ sets.

Not long after that night, the Numbers label was up and running and the idea to re-release Portland with a remix from Mr Villalobos was brought up almost as a kind of pipe-dream. Now in 2013, with a little help from Gerd Janson, it has finally happened. Recorded live in one take and clocking in at over 30 minutes long, it's cited as an "experiment" by Ricardo. Designed to play at two speeds, at 33rpm its almost like an early 90s Black Dog track stretched out to infinity, whilst at 45rpm, it's a club-ready groover with an almost Dopplereffekt rhythm to it - the sort you could imagine sneaking into a DJ Assault or Godfather Ghettotech mix. Somehow, it also manages to be classic Villalobos.

To finish off the record Dave gave us a two unheard tracks from those original Portland sessions in 1998. The malevolent electro of 'Jigsaw' would instantly have become another Numbers anthem if only Dave had let us hear it ten years ago, and closer track 'Wilson St' heads down an ambient route.

Elena Tonra ist zwar keine passionierte Schwimmerin, aber der Sound auf dem neuen Daughter Album "Stereo Mind Game" klingt wie ein Ozean, in den man eintauchen möchte. Das dritte Album der britischen Band, gleichzeitig das erste Studioalbum seit sieben Jahren, setzt sich damit auseinander, was es bedeutet, von geliebten Menschen und auch von sich selbst getrennt zu sein - ein komplexes Thema. Daughter, das Trio bestehend aus Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli und Remi Aguilella - wurde 2010 gegründet. Nach der Veröffentlichung von zwei Studioalben, "If You Leave" (2013) und "Not to Disappear" (2016), und dem Videospiel-Soundtrack Music "From Before the Storm" (2017), beschlossen sie, eine Auszeit voneinander zu nehmen. Kurz zuvor jammten sie allerdings noch gemeinsam in Los Angeles, zwischen einer Support-Tour für The National und ihren ersten Headline-Shows in Südamerika. Hier begann die Arbeit am neuen Album. Danach herrschte erst einmal Stille - als Band und untereinander. In den nächsten Jahren, in denen die Mitglieder an ihren eigenen Projekten arbeiteten, darunter auch Tonras Soloplatte als Ex:Re, trafen sich Daughter gelegentlich zum gemeinsamen Schreiben in Studios in London, Portland und San Diego, wo Haefeli 2019 für sechs Monate lebte. Die zentrale romantische Figur der Platte ist jemand, den Tonra dort kennengelernt hat, als sie aus London zu Besuch kam. Sie teilten eine bedeutende Verbindung, aber sie wusste, dass der Atlantik zwischen ihnen liegt. Daughter begann 2021 konkret mit den Aufnahmen für die zwölf Songs des Albums. Haefeli, der in Bristol lebt, traf sich mit Tonra in den Middle Farm Studios in Devon. Aguilella, der in Portland, Oregon, lebt, nahm seine Schlagzeugparts im Bocce Studio in Vancouver, Washington, auf. Haefeli produzierte eine Reihe der Songs, während Tonra "Junkmail" produzierte. Den Rest haben sie gemeinsam produziert. Die Sehnsucht, physische Entfernungen zu überwinden, ein Gefühl, das sich während der Pandemie noch verstärkt hat, ist in viele dieser Stücke eingeflossen. Auf "Wish I Could Cross the Sea" hören wir Sprachnotizen von Tonras junger Nichte und ihrem Neffen, die in Italien leben. Die von Haefeli und Tonra arrangierten und von Josephine Stephenson orchestrierten Stücke wurden, passenderweise, im The Pool aufgenommen, einem Raum in Bermondsey im Süden Londons, der eine ehemalige Badeanstalt war. Ein Blechbläserquartett verleiht auch "Neptune" und "To Rage" eine wohlig klangliche Wärme. Während Daughters frühere Arbeiten ihre Kraft in ihrer entwaffneten und emotionalen Ehrlichkeit fanden, handelt "Stereo Mind Game" von gegensätzlichen Gefühlen. "Es geht darum, nicht in absoluten Kategorien zu arbeiten", sagt Haefeli. Nach mehr als einem Jahrzehnt, in dem sie die dunkelsten Emotionen darstellten, haben Daughter ihr bisher optimistischstes und ein fast schon strahlendes Album aufgenommen.

Nick Curly celebrates the 50th release on his imprint with label partner Marc Scholl. Together, they present Nick Curly’s Altrip EP, featuring a guest remix by Manda Moor.

The EP commences with the title track 'Altrip,' where robust sub-bass melds seamlessly with vigorous drum programming. Following suit, 'It's You And Me' maintains the same potent energy, featuring cascading note arpeggios and intricate percussive elements that traverse the mix. Manda Moor's 'Burning Remix' of 'Altrip' injects her high-octane sonic signature into the original, employing rave-inspired stabs, panning drums, and sliced vocal samples.

As the year '23 enters its final quarter, Cécille Records is set to reinvigorate its event series in collaboration with Peoples Agency. Two official dates stand as markers of this revival. Alongside Nick Curly, an array of artists including Sidney Charles, Manda Moor, Fabe, Leon, De La Swing, Dennis Quin, Timmy P, Reboot and more are poised to join the festivities. The launch will take place under Cécille tent owned by Groove Fest London, while another event is scheduled at ADE in partnership with promoter Hush, hosted at Amsterdam's Melkweg Club.

Naya Beat Records is proud to present its release Naya Beat Volume 1: South Asian Dance and Electronic Music 1983-1992. This is the first in a series of compilations and full-length album reissues dedicated to uncovering hidden electronic and dance music gems from the overlooked ‘80s and ‘90s South Asian music scene.
The compilation features future classics from India, Pakistan, the U.K., Canada, Guyana and Suriname released between 1983 and 1992. From East-West’s dancefloor filler "Can't Face The Night (Club Mix)" to Remo’s balearic masterpiece "Jungle Days" (off his seminal album Bombay City!) to other disco, synth-pop, and balearic dancefloor bangers from artists like Babla & His Orchestra, Sheila Chandra, Bappi Lahiri and Asha Puthli to name a few, this double album includes highly sought after, previously never reissued and otherwise impossible to find grails.
The double album has been mastered by multi Grammy-nominated Frank Merritt at his mastering studio The Carvery and includes some killer remixes and edits by Naya Beat co-founders Turbotito and Ragz.

Founded by former Poolside member Filip Nikolic (Turbotito) and DJ and record collector Raghav Mani (Ragz) Naya Beat (loosely translated from Hindi as “New Beat”) is building on the success of seminal South Asian dance and electronic reissues like Rupa Disco Jazz and Charanjit Singh’s iconic Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat. Turbotito and Ragz have spent years digging for records in the most unusual places, from the crowded and dusty markets of New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai to the Guyanese corner shops in Jamaica, Queens, to the Surinamese record stores in Amsterdam and the South Asian communities of London and Birmingham. They have amassed an exceptionally deep treasure trove of dance and groove-based music that has never been reissued

Guitar Solos is the debut solo album of British guitarist, composer, and improviser Fred Frith. It was recorded while Frith was still a member of the English experimental rock group Henry Cow and was released originally in October 1974. Voted one of the best albums of 1974 by NME critics it also attracted the attention of Brian Eno, resulting in Frith playing guitar on two of Eno‘s albums. Frith‘s never tiring spirit in creating and performing music has made him one of the most notable and creative guitar players and musicians in the scene of improvised and composed music. For the anniversary of this release we have encouraged Frith to arrange a set up similar to what he used 50 years ago to record an album of new compositions which will accompany the original record.

Sheku Kanneh-Mason’s Debütalbum ”Inspiration”, das 2018 die Charts stürmte, drehte sich um das 1. Cellokonzert von Schostakowitsch - jetzt hat er das 2. Mai 2018 bei der weltweit übertragenen Hochzeit von Prinz Harry und Meghan Markle in Windsor Castle spielte.

Von den originalen 8-Spur-Bändern gemixt und geschnitten, bietet diese Edition ein atemberaubendes Hörerlebnis in höchster analoger Klangqualität.

Die audiophile Vinyl-Serie The Original Source präsentiert herausragende Aufnahmen der 1970er Jahre in ganz neuer Klangqualität. Dafür haben die renommierten Emil Berliner Studios die originalen Vier- und Achtspur-Bänder mit eigens für die Produktion der Serie entwickelten Technologien in 100% analoger Qualität (AAA) neu gemastert und geschnitten. Die klanglichen Unterschiede zu den Originalveröffentlichungen sind beträchtlich: Größere Klarheit, mehr Feinheiten und Verbesserungen im Frequenzgang, zugleich weniger Nebengeräusche, Verzerrungen und Komprimierungen ermöglichen ein audiophiles Hörerlebnis wie nie zuvor.

Sergej Prokofjew vollendete die Skythische Suite op. 20 im Jahr 1914, als er im Begriff war, seiner Heimat den Rücken zu kehren. Back to the Roots

In 1987, after organizing the Chez Roger Boîte Funk parties with Dee Nasty and Actuel/Radio Nova, Joseph Mannix and Isaac Ben Araz (then guitarist and trombonist of the group Human Spirit) decided to create a French-style Funk band.
The group quickly became one of the most spectacular live sensations of the 1990s.
Their self-produced debut album, Malka On The Beach, was released in 1991. Both the press and the public went crazy for these little funkateers, leading to a series of non-stop tours. Their concerts—wild, costumed performances—drew massive crowds. Warner France took notice and signed them.

Their second album, Tous Des Ouf (WEA), a true Space Opera P-Funk featuring guests like Sidney (Hip-Hop), Dee Nasty, Marco Prince (FFF), Juan Rozoff, and more, was released in 1992.

After touring the world multiple times, the band became independent again in 1995 and recorded an EP for Big Cheese Records: Fricassé De Funk.

By the late ‘90s, the rise of DJs and electronic music signaled the decline of large live bands. Due to its logistical weight—the band had over 14 members on their last tour—Malka Family was forced to part ways in 1997 after touring for their album Fotoukonkass (RCA/BMG).

But that was without counting on the resilience and extraordinary freshness of these Funk performers…

It began with a cassette tape entitled 'Pleased To Meet You' gifted to us at Sessa's Fasching, Stockholm show by Yann Dardenne, the multi-tasking tour manager/sound engineer/producer/merch stall worker and co-owner of Seloki Records. On first listen, the selection of underground Brazilian artists from the Seloki's roster was superb, however, one song stopped us in our tracks. The hauntingly captivating ' GOSTO MEIO DOCE' by Nina Maia and Francisca Barreto, gave us a taste of Nina's ethereal, addictive voice and we knew we needed to hear more. Born in Minas Gerais but now based in Sao Paulo, the 22-year-old has already packed a lot into a relatively short space of time. The singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer, has already collaborated on the soundtracks for six Brazilian feature films, including a track with the vocalists Maria Gadu, Iza, and Liniker. But things enter a new exciting era with this, her remarkable debut album entitled 'INTEIRA', which translates to English as 'whole'.

As much inspired by Billie Eilish and Rosalia, as Milton Nascimento and Toninho Horta and not sounding like other records coming out of Brazil, 'INTEIRA' is unique. Though rich in its Brazilian heritage, inspired by samba cancao, MPB, and the Clube da Esquina movement, it also channels influence from bands such as Portishead and Massive Attack, mixed with jazz, contemporary leftfield and electronic pop artists. Musically, it is not easily pigeonholed, with beautiful, well-crafted songs, sophisticated arrangements, eloquent vocals and intimate lyrics. Each track reflects different moments and stories from Nina's youth but with dialogues, feelings, and questions that span generations and resonate with all. This ambitious debut album is Nina's vision and sound, expressing herself without constraints and making music with her friends. Featuring a lineup of Thalin (drums), Valentim Frateschi (bass), Francisca Barreto (cello and vocals), Thales Hashiguti (viola and violin), Yann Dardenne (acoustic guitar and co-producer) and Nina on piano, Rhodes, guitar and production. The album led to a nomination in Paulista Association of Art Critics (APCA) award's 'Breakthrough Artist' category, who also listed 'INTEIRA' as one of the 50 best albums of 2024.

It also received support from Bandcamp Weekly and Jamz Supernova on BBC 6 Music. Released digitally by Seloki Records in Brazil in 2024, Mr Bongo in partnership with Seloki Records now present this new, deluxe worldwide edition that includes four additional songs. These comprise the brand-new exquisite 'MANHA', as well as an original twist on Vinicius de Moraes' classic 'Serenata Do Adeus'. Elsewhere you'll find a live recording showcasing Nina's remarkable energy on stage courtesy of 'DE DENTRO' and 'GOSTO MEIO DOCE' with the amazing musician/vocalist Francisca Barreto, where our whole story began. Another hot 2 sider from Chicago's STAR CREATURE and Miami's MIA (not to be confused with M.I.A.) and her "patented Bedroom Boogie meets Dancefloor Romance vibe". A-side features Toronto's ALADEAN KHEROUFI for a midtempo duet, the B-side is a hard but tender 2-step boogie bomb.

After their epic run with Channel One beginning in the mid 1970's, the Mighty Diamonds moved to producer Gussie Clarke for a string of albums starting in 1979 and running thru the 1980s. Among the many many great tunes from this run, the title track of their 1982 album "The Roots Is There" is simply one of the Diamond's best ever, and probably the most lyrically militant tune they ever made. This tune was never released as a single at the time, though new mixes were released as a single in 2017. But prior to the release of the album back in the day, this song was played on dubplate in a raw mix without the horns and added percussion that made it onto the final album mix. This raw vocal cut, followed by a raw instrumental version, changes the whole tone of the tune and brings it into another level of militancy right up there with the hardest stuff you can name, even in an era filled with so many extra tough stepping classics. Rather than remaster from an old dubplate, for this 45 we had producer Gussie Clarke and Music Works' close associate engineer Curtis Lynch go back to the original tapes, and with an original dubplate as reference, perfectly recreate the original raw cut, now released in pristine tape quality. Again we present this release on Music Works' original early 1980s dubplate label design, just like the original slate would have been adorned with. If you only know the sweet harmony side of the Diamonds, give this one a try to see their other tuff side, and listen to the lyrics, as relevant to the struggles of right now as they were in 1982.

Back in the mid 1970s, Minkie and U Roy were both living in the Tower Hill area of Kingston, and U Roy was resident deejay on King Tubby's sound system. Minkie followed his friend and the sound, and occasionally U Roy let him hold the mic and deejay on Tubby's set. U Roy encouraged Minkie to take music more seriously, and with that encouragement, his first record "Wickedness" was made. Minkie got a cut of a rhythm from his friend the late Sydney Wilson, and voiced and mixed the rugged deejay tune "Wickedness" at King Tubby's studio. Sydney had earlier voiced this rhythm as a tune called "Why Do I Cry", but alongside "Wickedness", voiced it again with a new vocal called "Time Has Gone". In fact that tune and "Wickedness" share the same dub version. Clement continued to move in the music scene, next recording for Harry J's Jaywax label in 1979 with a tune called "Jah Is Real", as a duo named UNI-TONE along with his friend Denzil. Then in 1980, Clement revisited the great rhythm of "Wickedness", deciding to this time sing rather than deejay on the rhythm. He returned to Harry J studio, adding some choice new instrumental overdubs on the rhythm for this new cut, "Every Time I Do My Thing." In the decades since, astute roots collectors have honed in on this excellent rhythm and its several cuts, not least of all this pair of them by Mr. Clement "Minkie" Moore. It should be noted that in the manner of the day, other associates of Tubby's studio, Prophets Yabby You and Alric Forbes, also utilized this rhythm. Mysticisms' is delighted to reissue Nail's timeless debut release, Cassiopeia. Appearing on the DiY Collective's 'Strictly 4 Groovers' compilation album for Warp Records in 1993, the original appears as a stand alone at last and is backed with a specially created 2019 Remix.
Starting in 1989 and centered around Nottingham, the collective, also known as DiY Sound System, were a focal point for the burgeoning house scene in the midlands. Promoting an alternative take on post-acid house's creeping commercialisation, DiY kept to simple ethos of good music and a good party and were at the forefront of the new Free Party movement.
Alongside parties, the collective set up a studio and label and young Neil Tolliday was introduced by in-house engineer Damian Stanley. 'Nail' was born and during studio downtime, the 18 year old wrote Cassiopeia around the S1000 sampler, Juno 106, Oberheim Matrix 1000 and Roland SH101.
Cassiopeia became the stand out inclusion on the compilation and rightly, is still highly prized. Fitting in and outside the Deep House vibe DiY were known, it fuses elements of ambient and even trance, with a beautiful arpeggio and vocal sample atop simple, but killer bass line and claps. Tolliday's 2019 Remix is a fitting accompaniment, stretching towards dub techno before house kicks back perfectly for today's heads.

"Recorded in 1959, Gerry Mulligan Meets Johnny Hodges is heralded as one of the best of Mulligan’s recorded pairings with fellow instrumentalists. On this date, the two saxophonists are joined by a solid rhythm section of Claude Williamson (piano), Buddy Clark (bass) and Mel Lewis (drums), splitting the repertoire across three originals each from Mulligan and Hodges. After years of exploration and experimentation, a new wave of artists from the Andes is now gaining some deserved global recognition. One such artist is Guillermo aka Existencia Pasajera, whose work has been shaped in southern Chile and so smartly reflects the region's newly emerging creative depth. This new release captures his fluid, expressive keyboard style and opens with the trippy and psychedelic loops of 'Haunted House' before 'The Brujo' gets more dark and menacing. The EP also features a remix by Minus legend Magda. Her label debut blends acid, stripped back rhythm and heady grooves, while closing the release is Map.ache of the Giegling collective, whose minimalist approach offers a meditative counterpoint.

Musikalisch und textlich geht es quer durch den Gemüsegarten: Da gibt es schnelle, harte, politische Stücke, groovige Songs mit Geschichten aus dem Leben, Reggae-Beats bis hin zum vollakustischen Lied Auf der Flucht in dem es um Abschied, Hoffnung und natürlich auch um Busch"n (Bassisten und Gründungsmitglied von DRITTE WAHL) geht, der im Januar des Jahres 2005 nach schwerer Krankheit verstorben ist. Martha"s Dance is set for release on September 19th, 2025 via April Records. The title track is a tribute to Thofte"s three-year-old daughter - a playful, clapping, goat-hoof-stomping tune in quirky 5/4 that channels the spirit of childhood joy and spontaneity. "It"s just a fun tune to play, and I feel like it really captures Martha"s spirit," says Thofte. "This band came together at a time when I was trying to get a foothold in a new life situation as a father, so it felt perfect to make this the title track." Was hat es mit dieser ,Augendisko" auf sich? Man hat sofort ein Bild vor seinem geistigen Auge: funkelnd, glänzend, leuchtend, irgendwie speziell. Das passt auch ganz wunderbar. Dabei war der Auslöser für die ,Augendisko" vergleichsweise banal. Marcus Heider (als sein Alter Ego ,John Krempl" Kopf der Band) war nach dem letzten Album gezwungen, sich mehreren Augenoperationen auszusetzen. An sich eine natürlich unangenehme, aber letztlich auch seltsame und fast überirdische Erfahrung. Wie beschreibt man das Flimmern und die Farben, die vor einem tanzen, wenn man im Dämmerzustand auf dem OP-Tisch liegt? Richtig, ,Augendisko" trifft es am besten. Die ,Augendisko", die dem Album seinen Titel gibt, ist ein Sehnsuchtsort - bizarr, bunt, vielfältig wie die Musik. Und das Geheimnis rund um die Augenklappe von John Krempl haben wir nun auch gelüftet. Es ist kein modisches Accessoire, sondern eine Notwendigkeit bei der Real Life Bildschirmarbeit und somit willkommener Teil des Bühnenoufits. Songs: Wir treffen uns in der ,Augendisko", eine ungestüme und hymnische Rocknummer, die auf ein furioses Bass-Schlagzeugfinale zusteuert. ,Johnny gegen den Rest der Welt" ist ein Streifzug durch das Leben von Johnny, dem Protagonisten vieler Love God Chaos-Songs. Der bisher längste Love God Chaos-Song ist aufbereitet wie eine üppige, ungewöhnliche und überraschende Netflix-Serie, getragen vom Czech Film Orchestra. Der wohl bisher thematisch ungewöhnlichste Song in der Karriere der Grazer Band ist ,Im Kopf von Lisa Eckhart". Ein dunkles und groovendes Lied, das weniger Hommage sein will, sondern eher eine Unterstellung ist. Wer weiß schon, was in den Köpfen anderer vor sich geht? Egal, Hauptsache es ist ,alles wunderbar". ,Bistro d'Amour" ist eine schelmische Abrechnung mit den Ex-Freunden von Johnnys Liebster. Was tun, wenn gar nichts mehr hilft? Love God Chaos empfehlen ,Mach dein Voodoo". Nach der lässigen und zugänglichen Nummer geht es weiter mit ,Muss das so laut sein". Ein Satz, den wohl jede Musikerin und jeder Musiker schon mal gehört hat. ,Hoffentlich Henri" ist ein opulentes Weltraumepos, das abhebt und sich mit einem Textzitat vor den Größten verbeugt. Der Schluss hat es nochmal in sich. ,Alle gehen, keiner bleibt" beginnt folkig und mit luftigen Harmonies, ufert aber letztlich aus. Ein Song wie eine Matrjoschka, überraschend bis zum Schluß

South London singer, songwriter and cultural powerhouse Joy Crookes has today unveiled the news that her worth-the-wait second album Juniper will be released on September 26th ahead of a full UK & EU headline tour.

A stunningly candid and fearless body of work, the album reaffirms Joy as one of the UK’s most vital and original voices. A once-in-a-generation talent, Crookes delivers a record that is both emotionally raw and sonically rich; humorous, heartbreaking and profoundly human.

Following the success of her 2021 debut Skin, which earned BRIT and Mercury Prize nominations, went Top 5 in the UK charts, and drew acclaim from The Guardian, NME and many more, Joy set out to make an album that pushed her further both musically and personally.

Lead singles like ‘Pass The Salt’ and ‘I Know You’d Kill’ showcase Crookes’ lyrical agility – blending poetic detail with razor-sharp wit. Spanish label MATE always deals in house that is deep but seriously musical and classy. Glenn Davis is next up to keep that tradition going and does so with spine-tingling vocal soul on opener 'To Believe,' which taps into classic early Chicago sounds. 'Reality Check' is a balmy follow up with painterly synths and persuasive stabs, while 'True To Yourself' rides on a gentle broken beat with Italo piano chords adding a retro 90s feel.
