Thompson Sound and Dubquake Records team up to offer O.B.F-style versions of iconic roots & rub-a-dub tracks from Linval Thompson's label. Gems from the 70s and 80s that’ve been reworked by Rico O.B.F using original recordings. Each release comes with a reinterpretation of the original vocal, dubs, and a mix with our dearly missed Nazamba pon the version!

After 'Curfew', 'Sweet Sensimilia' and 'Evening Love', here's 'Guide & Protect', the very last scorcher in this series: a reimagined version of Michael Prophet's 'Guide And Protect You', taken from his iconic self-titled album.

Special guest Mark Iration jumps on his own cut, 'Protection'. Prophet and Mark trade verses as if side by side, capturing their connection. A celebration of Prophet’s legacy. Protection brings together reggae’s past and future.

On 'Raw Born Reggae', Nazamba flows with absolute groove. It's a preview of his highly anticipated posthumous album, 'A Message from Zion', set to release in November.

Freshly recovered from the release of O.B.F's brand new 'MIXXTAPE', the Dubquake team kick off 2024 with an explosive double drop; putting all their energy into one of dub’s most exciting project: Iration Steppas and O.B.F's joint album 'Revelation Time' due to release on April 5th.

The label unleashes 'Warrior' & 'Serious Time', the first two singles built by Mark Iration, Dennis Rootical & Rico O.B.F. Putting the massive to work while they prepare for the double LP and live show to kick-off.

Both tracks are taken from the album, mixed octopus-style, dubplate-style and pressed onto transparent vinyl in screen-printed sleeves. Exclusively available on Bandcamp and in record shops. Strictly sound system material!!

Still buzzing from the hype around Part 1 of the ‘90’s Classic Cutz’, this new drop includes their very first release ‘Scud Missile’, the legendary ‘Hard Time Pressure In A Babylon’, ‘Locks’ featuring Tena Stelin, ‘Kitachi In Dubwize’ and their spiced up remix of Vibronics’ ‘One Drop’.

These tracks were produced and mixed by Iration Steppas’ founding members Mark Iration and Dennis Rootical at the High Rise Studio in Chapeltown, Leeds. At the time, the dub-making-duo were heavily experimenting with new sounds, blending dub with acid soundscapes in a way that had never been done before. At the frontier of reggae and electronic music, their ‘Dub Inna Year 3000 Style’ re-defined UK Dub in the 90’s and continues to inspire the new generation.

All tracks have been remastered and put onto five separate 12” slabs of wax. And to add to the excitment, each release features original mixes + previously unreleased ‘dubplate cutz’ that could only be heard live up till now!

* Vocals courtesy of the late great Jamaican singer Bim Sherman, whose unique haunting voice made him a firm favourite throughout the 70s/80s/90s with the roots reggae crowd as well as On-U Sounds taking Bim to other worldy realms.
* Originally released on Youth and Alex Patterson’s WAU! Mr Modo label in 1989 and produced by Sound Iration (Nick Manasseh and Scruff).
* Originally recorded as `It Must Be a Dream’ in the 70s, on this cut, Bim revisits the track in `89 with a meditative part-digital rhythm from Sound Iration backed with a phased-out dub version on the flipside.

* Tena Stelin’s ‘Wicked Invention’ is one of the most highly-sought UK digital roots reggae vocal albums,
* Produced by Sound Iration (Nick Manasseh & Scruff), essentially, this is the vocal version of the classic dub album `Sound Iration in Dub’. This vocal set, like the vocal counterpart was released on Wau! Mr Modo in 1989.
* Features the sound system belters ‘Orthodox Music’, `Jah Equity’ and the title track.
