In 1980, the English rock band The Only Ones released their third and final studio album Baby’s Got A Gun. While they produced the previous two albums, for Baby’s Got A Gun they joined forces with the acclaimed producer Colin Thurston, who is best known for his work with Duran Duran, Talk Talk, and The Human League among others. The album features guest performances by lead vocalist of Penetration, Pauline Murray, on the tracks “Fools” and “Me And My Shadow”. “Fools” is the only time that the band had released a cover version, which is originally a song by American country musi- cian Johnny Duncan. Two years after the album release, The Only Ones officially disbanded.

Baby’s Got A Gun features remastered audio and is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on silver & black marbled vinyl.

"Strawberry Seed, Big Bill’s third full-length LP, represents evolutionary growth for the Austin rock band. While the album includes some of the snide anthems they’re known for in songs like “Poverty of Wires,” “Throw it Away,” and “Political Meat,” much of the album feels warmer, with layers of acoustic guitar, synthesizers, piano, and background singers adding texture to their esoteric sound. Even when they go for the familiar angular riffs and propulsive drums—provided by former White Denim drummer Jeff Olson, who joined the band in 2020 and produced most of this record—the topics are more relatable than ever before, and more political, too. “Poverty of Wires” hits directly with post-punk fervor and a lyric about how rich people are always sick of talking about the poor, and “Political Meat” rails against a depressingly familiar cycle: “politely critique; get spit out like mouthwash and rinse and repeat.”

On Strawberry Seed, Big Bill is more mature and more self-assured, but you’ll never take the anxious energy out of the punk."

The Gloss is the second album from Cola. From their inception Cola have expanded on the d.i.y. ethic of the Dischord and SST eras, creating potent sounds from a minimal palette of drums/bass/guitar and lacing their songs with winsome one-liners and societal commentary. What’s another word for commentary? Gloss, apparently. Never basic, the lyrics reward repeated listening for deeper meanings. David Berman’s poetry-via-garage light pennings are an inspiration, as equally so are the lighter side of UK first-wave New Wave and the Dunedin sound. The results are in the pudding: at times sparse and poetic, at others a thrilling, hook-laden good time, as with the cheeky romantic sketch of a one-night stand that is so overflowing with innuendo-cum-journalism talk that it almost teeters over into self-parody. But the results are the right combination of lightheartedness and sincerity. Romanticism is never far from laughter, and equally never far from righteous anger in the music of Cola: “Pulling quotes now in the dark/Our outlook is restrained/Your tongue might weaken to be-fit your smile/Til nothing ill remains.” ‘nuff said. It's an album bursting with energy and wit and ideas–filled to the margins.

"Led by the legendary pianist and composer Chick Corea - 27-time Grammy winner and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master - The Elektric Band stormed onto the jazz scene in the mid-1980s, making an immediate and lasting impact on the genre. Originally issued in 1984, World Shut Your Mouth saw the mercurial leader of The Teardrop Explodes establish himself as a fully-fledged solo artist. This re-issue faithfully replicates the original 1984 Mercury Records UK release and is pressed onto high quality 180g vinyl. When The Teardrop Explodes finally ground to a halt in late 1982, all eyes were on what leader Julian Cope would do next. After retreating to the village of Drayton Bassett in Staffordshire for an extended period, Cope began writing World Shut Your Mouth, his first solo album. Released in March 1984, it is the closest to his old band of all his solo work (Metranil Vavin and Pussyface were both originally intended for the Teardrops), World Shut Your Mouth featured Gary Dwyer on drums, and giving the album its most distinctive sound, Kate St. John on oboe. Beautifully pastoral, it is full of highlights such as Strasbourg, Kolly Kibber's Birthday and the wistful, reflective Head Hang Low. The strange, string-led, schizophrenic, Sunshine Playroom was the album's first single, followed up by 'radio hit' Greatness And Perfection.

IMOGEN presents WIGS002 - a four track EP celebrating the women of Wigs, featuring Grace Dahl, NVST, Rebecca Alle Paine and IMOGEN.

WIGS002 kicks off with heavy breaks and kick drums bringing a rough hardcore vibe to IMOGEN’s latest single ‘SHOUTOUT 2 LDN’, premiered by radio legend Mary Anne Hobbs on her Radio 6 show.

IMOGEN samples a vocal from her favourite 90s MC Alex Pearce, adopting the same “zero f***s attitude” of the early 2000s techno scene. She combines this with squelching reese basses and slick programmed breaks to bring the same energy of early warehouse parties to the dancefloors of today.

Next up, Grace Dahl departs from her usual rolling techno style with electro banger ‘I Like Em Sexy’. A fast-paced distorted vocal slides its way through the drums into an epic breakdown before an unexpected 4/4 drop. IMOGEN and Dahl’s musical chemistry shone in their B2B on the Wigs NTS show, making this the perfect A-side combo of the EP.

Upcoming Italian DJ and producer Rebecca Alle Paine keeps up the EP’s high energy with the perfect DJ tool of rolling 909 drums. Hardgroove is having its resurgence right now and Rebecca is a leading light in the genre currently flooding the scene. Wigs isn’t the only label to pick up on Rebecca’s driving style - she recently released an album on hardgroove legend Ben Sims’ label as well as featuring on Freddy K’s KEY. It is clear Rebecca is one to watch for 2024.

NVST closes off the EP in a mind bending Aphex Twin-style crescendo. ‘A Face Has No Voice’ is an eight minute long saga boasting her skill as a multiverse producer. It follows a journey through dub, breaks and IDM. WIGS002 showcases the true diversity of the next generation of musicians, and that one piece of music can traverse many genres.

Wigs kicked off as a project aimed to offer a new approach to party series and workshops with an emphasis on community, bringing like minded ravers together to build a platform for the next generation of artists and party goers. As well as a residency at Tresor Berlin, Wigs has hosted sold out parties across Europe bringing names such as Daria Kolosova, Dr Rubinstein Salome and more. After the success of WIGS001, Wigs is proving itself to be a staple sound in dance music right now.

Forest Law"s debut album "Zero" is a vibrant journey blending Balearic funk with urban Tropicalia, showcasing his adept guitar playing, old-school sampling, and UK- styled beats alongside his mellow yet sombre vocals. Recorded across eclectic locations from Icelandic fish net factories to a garden shed in Romford, this innovative release marks a new chapter for the multi-instrumentalist producer.

Hailing from the American Pacific Northwest, DJ RAT’s signature sound is characterised by an eccentric, distinguishing and uncompromising approach - seamlessly blending intense, arcane and mystical elements in order to create a captivating experience.
Side A kicks in with Nocturne, the EP’s leading track that guides the listener into a veil of mystery with its enigmatic melody and its pulsating basslines that gradually build intensity while maintaining an underlying sense of tranquillity.

Hexosphere’s rhythm is edgy and straightforward with a trippy nature.
There’s an ever-evolving dynamic throughout the four tracks, alternating between driving rhythms and moments of serene psychedelia - exploring the duality of light and dark and evoking a feeling of introspection.

The B-side takes off with Corridor, an oscillating tension-builder.
Corridor’s distorted synths and glitchy effects cascade over pounding drums, creating a chaotic yet mesmerising soundscape.
Telepathic Climax weaves in and out with shimmering and alluring shifts that add depth and dimension to the track.

Atmospheric and trippy textures create a sense of space and immersion throughout the journey of the EP - with illuminating elements piercing through the darkness.

The Italian trio Desert Wave was formed in 2016, when Drugo (drums) and Logan (bass) were already playing in a doom metal band and then decided to break away and form their own with a more psychedelic/stoner-style. Guitarist Burton joined them a month later, and their musical influences were quite similar: Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, 70's hard rock, Seattle grunge, up to the granite desert sound of Kyuss.

With "Deafening Silence" they created a more psychedelic and epic, mostly instrumental, sound than their 2017 debut “Lost In Dunes”, much more like the long jam sessions they play in the rehearsal room. The songs were born during the pandemic that deeply marked the band. Like everyone else, they spent several weeks at home, while the empty streets generated a ghostly and disturbing silence. The lyrics are a bit dark and gloomy and on "Endless Night", Logan's voice carries that ghostly presence that loomed over us all. Drugo designed the artwork, as a tribute to the Blade Runner movies. In both films, as in the songs on the album, there was the same feeling of foreboding that hovered in a dystopian future, in which not all the answers are clear and many questions are still unanswered. Burton's powerful guitar riffs echo in this unreal silence, sometimes increasing the sense of restlessness, other times instead, in the more psychedelic parts, they create a crescendo of impotence and inevitability that totally invades you and from which you cannot escape. Doo-Wop was and remains the most accessible of popular music formats. You don’t need instruments, just tuneful voices, the ability to harmonise and a street corner on which to perform. Over 10,000 different vocal outfits are estimated to have recorded in the Fifties – be they black, white, Italian or Hispanic. Only a few practitioners like Dion DiMucci, lead singer with the Belmonts, would outlast the phenomenon to bloom in subsequent decades, but Doo-Wop’s legacy would remain. In this collection, you will discover the foundations of popular music as we know it. From coast to coast, Doo-Wop ruled the Fifties – here it is at its very best!

Yunchan Lim is the one of the most talked-about classical artists on the planet. In 2024 he presents his debut studio album on Decca Classics – the Chopin Études, Op.10 and Op.25. Yunchan Lim became the youngest ever winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2022, aged only 18; his performance of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 3 moved his conductor to tears and gathered unprecedented millions of online viewers. In the months following, his rise to stardom has been meteoric, with invitations from the most prestigious concert halls and orchestras. Now, setting down the Op. 10 and Op. 25 Etudes, Lim is putting himself in a direct line with some of the greatest pianists of the past. Lim says “a huge universe of pianists played this repertoire, and I have always wanted to become a fundamental musician like them, so I decided to follow their route.” He has grown up listening to great pianists recording this music, including some of his favourites - Alfred Cortot, Ignaz Friedman, Joseph Lhevinne, Mark Hambourg and Sergio Fiorentino, among others.

The title "Duality" resonated with me deeply as it reflects the inner conflict I often experience. There are moments when I feel fearless and self-assured, contrasted sharply by times when self-doubt creeps in and I question my worth. Sometimes, I cling tightly to my actions, determined to shape my destiny, while at other times, I surrender to the flow of life. I think we all fight these internal battles of duality every day, trying to determine which side we want to nurture, which parts we want to let go of and forgive, and which pieces come from our soul and which pieces were imposed on us. In my pursuit to bring this concept to life, I curated two distinct styles of music for each side of the album. Through the music, I aimed to evoke a sense of magic, for I think that at the core of our internal conflicts lies the enchanting paradox of being humans with boundless potential living, in a mortal world constrained by constructs like money, laws, and societal hierarchies. Over the past few years, I've embarked on a journey of self-discovery, delving into the magical facets of myself—my intuition, my capacity to love—and it was during this exploration that I crafted this album.

We are proud to introduce you our next and tenth release on which we have been working for more than a year.

This release is intended to be the soundtrack to an experimental short film/ballet we are currently working on.

This 9-tracks VA is a journey through different visions of music production, but all unique, bold, passionate — the order of the tracklist is designed to follow the story of the short film.

On the vinyl side it will be a 12” 140g double disc with inner sleeves and printed outer sleeve pressed at Vinyl de Paris (100 copies limited edition).

Monsters of Folk - bestehend aus Jim James (My Morning Jacket), M. Ward, Conor Oberst und Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes) - haben 2009 ihr erstes gemeinsames Album veröffentlicht. Das Album wurde in Malibu und Omaha aufgenommen, alle Instrumente von den vier Mitgliedern selbst einspielt. Es war ihr einziges gemeinsames Album als Band. Diese Neuauflage enthält ein überarbeitetes Artwork, das Originalalbum mit 15 Songs sowie fünf unveröffentlichte Studiotracks aus dem Jahr 2012, die für ein zweites, nie fertiggestelltes Album vorgesehen waren und auf denen „5th Monster“ Will Johnson zu hören ist.
