Das Schweizer Indie-Kollektiv Soft Loft sorgte bereits mit ihrem Debütalbum für Aufsehen. Jetzt kündigt das Quintett für den 25. April ihre 'Modern Roses' EP an, die am 25. April über PIAS Germany auf CD und 10“ EP erscheint.

Diese neue Sammlung von sechs Songs widmet sich der Zuneigung und den kleinen Gesten, die wir machen, um die Distanz zwischen uns zu verringern, wenn auch nur für ein kleines Stück. Es geht auch um all die wunderbaren Wege, auf denen wir scheitern - die Einsamkeit, die Sehnsucht, die Fehlkommunikation, jemanden zu verlassen und zurückgelassen zu werden. All das wird auf der EP in tiefen, vibrierenden, psychedelisch gefärbten Schwingungen verarbeitet, die zwischen Melancholie und Ekstase hin- und herpendeln und von der Band um Sängerin und Songwriterin Jorina Stamm selbst als “Indie-irgendwas“ bezeichnet wird.

Die beliebte New Yorker Rockband Sunflower Bean meldet sich neu belebt mit ihrem vierten Album zurück. In Eigenregie produziert, von Caesar Edmunds (The Killers, Wet Leg) gemischt und von Sarah Tudzin (Illuminati Hotties, Boygenius) engineert, liess sich die Band von Alternative Rock, verträumter Psychedelia und Arena-Ehrgeiz inspirieren, um mit "Mortal Primetime" das härteste und verletzlichste Album ihrer Karriere zu liefern. Die Songs sind ungeschminkt und offen, Dissonanz und Unsicherheit werden akzeptiert. Sunflower Beans breite Palette von Einflüssen würden die meisten Bands nicht wagen, in einem Satz zusammenzufassen, und diese Kühnheit hat sie undefinierbar gemacht. Der Power-Pop-Opener "Champagne Taste" kanalisiert Iggy Pops "The Idiot"-Phase, "Look What You've Done To Me" beschwört den beunruhigenden Wahnsinn und die Launenhaftigkeit von Kate Bush, und die hochfliegenden Powercords auf "Nothing Romantic" erinnern an Arena-taugliche 70/80er Hits von Heart, Pat Benatar und Joan Jett. Embark on a funky synth-drenched journey as the cosmic count Jimi Tenor reunites with Timmion Records' soul architects Cold Diamond & Mink for yet another album. When placed side by side with the fellows' recent effort "Is There Love In Outer Space? "July Blue Skies" glides on a slightly more raw and mystical plane. Crafted over fiery sessions between Tenor and Cold Diamond & Mink, this vinyl release offers six soul-grasping tracks ranging from mellow groove to soundtrack funk. The album's opening title song kicks off with an extended analog synth intro which eventually develops into a sweet romantic invocation, painting a sonic canvas reminiscent of a boundless summer sky. The most vocal tune of this quite instrumental set of songs "Sky Train Baby" propels the listener on a locomotive ride through the star systems while "Venus of Barsoon" with its drum breaks and fuzz sounds blast you straight into sci fi movie funk territory. The album's B-side opens with "Ikuchi," where Tenor's always trusted flute and tenor sax take the spotlight over the slinky library beats. Closing the album we discover two single releases, the sublime "Summer Of Synesthesia" and the demonic "Tsicroxe" both completely worthy to hear sequenced inside this album as well. This album might be just the Spring jam that you needed in your life.

d4vd’s debut album, WITHERED, is one of the most hotly anticipated albums of the year. It completes the story laid out in his 2023 EPs, Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals, as he continues to articulate a relationship’s ricocheting emotions: the coruscating highs and bleak lows, all set to music that’s intimate, hook-heavy, and refreshingly direct. Created primarily on Bandlab, WITHERED brought d4vd back to the place his music journey began: his sister’s closet, alone with his iPhone. To finish the record, d4vd journeyed to London with a trusted crew of collaborators to create a cohesive, intimate record that’s meant to be listened to sequentially — the songs consumed like chapters — that spotlights his evolution as a deft and dynamic vocalist.

‘Devotion to a Noble Ideal’ is the first EP release on vinyl from The Revolutionary Army of the Infant Jesus. BIG|BRAVE"s preternatural instincts and depth of skill as musicians are on full display on their most naked and austere record to date, OST. The trio entered the studio with broader concepts and themes in mind, but no preconceived music. The overarching concept was to make a film score for a film that had yet to be created, to use minimal instrumentation, or more specifically not their standard band instruments, and to improvise within these parameters. OST was fully written and recorded in the studio. The band was free to enter the live room and record a take with whatever instrument was at hand. Once they had a good foundation for a song, Ball, Wattie, drummer Tasy Hudson and even engineer/producer Seth Manchester would each build on it, layering takes, from instrumental improvisations to abstract vocals, until they felt it was a completed piece. Wattie"s voice seamlessly blends with the instrumental flourishes made from "The Instrument", a Wurlitzer, prepared piano, synths and a very limited amount of electric guitar. Additionally, there is a sprinkling of flute by Melissa Guion (MJ Guider). The performances of each player are tactile and ardent, even at their most subtle and effected. Following OST"s completion, BIG|BRAVE contacted director/ visual artist Stacy Lee to visually score the record. Director Lee and BIG|BRAVE, having previously collaborated, had established an artistic understanding which allowed BIG|BRAVE to give Lee no instruction, no limitations: the creative process synthesized across film and music. Select screenings with live performances are in the works.

What happens when you combine SUMAC: a band that uses the volume, distortion, and guitar-centric approach of metal to make music that has the malleability of jazz and textural exploration of noise with Moor Mother: a poet and sound artist that has deconstructed hip hop to a point where it"s less about rhyme and rhythm (though obviously both are present in her work) and more about oratorical cadence and power.

The Film is an album that takes attributes of both artists" work and finds common ground in shifting musical patterns, and expressive force. The record is a musical thumbing of their noses at the more traditional approaches of their respective fields, an innovative, powerhouse of an album. The Film"s moniker speaks to the fact that it is conceived and delivered as a complete album, a full story or narrative. Moor Mother puts it best: "The idea is to create a moment outside of the convention. This is a work of art.

Thinking about the work as a Film, instead of an album or a collection of songs. This task is impossible in an industry that wants to force everything into a box of consumption. You won"t understand or get the full picture until the artwork is completed. This work is developing and is requesting more agency within the creative process." The Film is just such a work, a nebulitic collaboration between SUMAC and Moor Mother.

Nach dem ersten Demo wagte man sich auf die Bühne und spielte in der Folge drei Alben sowie eine EP ein: "Hit And Run" (2015), "In The Night" (EP, 2017), "Hypnotized" (2018) und "Monster" (2020). Für das neue Album "Night Stalker" haben Teaser Sweet nunmehr einen Vertrag bei High Roller Records unterzeichnet. In Therese Damberg besitzen die Schweden eine Sängerin, deren Stimme an eine Kreuzung aus Acids Kate, Leather Leone und Johanna von Lucifer erinnert.

Nach einer Reihe von zunehmend elektronisch geprägten Veröffentlichungen, kehren Billow Observatory mit einer völlig ambienten, schlagzeuglosen Perle von einem Album zu den Soundgefilden ihres Debüts aus dem Jahr 2012 zurück. Indem sie den Zufall und die Zufälligkeit umarmen, erheben sich spektrale Gitarren, flirren und knistern in staubige Partikel, während das Konzept der Zeit in jedem Track aus dem Fenster geworfen wird. Eine zunehmend feindselige Gesellschaft trägt zweifelsohne zum Gefühl der Introspektion und der Suche nach dem ,Anderssein" bei. Grübelnd, unheimlich, und wunderschön, werden die Hörer mit einer sehr detaillierten Sammlung von Songs belohnt, die Visionen von sich langsam drehenden Kugeln hervorrufen die leicht aus der Achse geschleudert werden. Das Duo, bestehend aus Jason Kolb (Michigan, USA) und Jonas Munk (Dänemark), begann 2006 mit der Zusammenarbeit und schickte sich gegenseitig Tracks über den Atlantik, was schließlich zu einer Veröffentlichung führte. Was zunächst als Nebenprojekt begann, wurde langsam zur Haupttätigkeit der beiden Künstler. Inzwischen haben sie insgesamt vier Alben veröffentlicht. Ihre Musik hat sich im Laufe der Jahre weiterentwickelt und ein Level der Perfektion erreicht, das sonst nur Produzenten zugestanden wird, die schon seit Jahrzehnten im Geschäft sind. Billow Observatory stehen mittlerweile für Ambient-Musik auf höchstem Niveau.

Melancholische Gitarrenakkorde, ein introspektiver Gesang, und immer wieder bedrohliche und energische Ausbrüche mit Percussions und Stakkato. Zwischen intimem Songwriting und Soundtrack-inspiriertem Pathos bewegt sich Jerome Reuter, der nun, 2025, das zweite Jahrzehnt seiner Band ROME feiert.

Zwei Dekaden begleitet das Luxemburgische Bandprojekt ROME nun also die Europäische Tragödie. Und während sich die Alben der ersten zehn Jahre noch vor allem historischen Themen widmeten, treten in der nicht mindert produktiven Ära zwischen 2016 und 2025, die auf dieser neuen "Anthologie" dokumentiert wird, auch aktuelle und grundsätzliche philosophische Fragestellungen ins Zentrum. ROME orientierte sich immer am großen Bild. Im Songwriting deutlich inspiriert vom französischen Chanson, dem späten Johnny Cash und Nick Cave, wurden von Beginn an auch literarische Quellen verarbeitet, und werden sie nicht namentlich genannt (wie bei "The Secret Germany" Paul Celan), so schwingen sie doch zwischen den Zeilen mit, die Denker - nicht nur - des 20. Jahrhunderts. Philosophische und gar okkulte Aspekte werden auf den Alben reflektiert ("The Hyperion Machine", "Hall of Thatch", "The Lone Furrow", "Le Ceneri di Heliodoro"), doch immer wieder wird es konkret, sei es mit Blick auf die russische Invasion in der Ukraine ("Gates of Europe", "World in Flames") und grundlegende Konflikte, die mythisch gelesen werden ("Coriolan", "Hegemonikon"). Wiederkehrend ist das mythische Motiv der Sonne, so auch auf dem jüngsten Werk "Civitas Solis".

Mal als volles Band-Line-Up, mal als Singer-Songwriter, und immer wieder im Austausch mit anderen Musikern (etwa Nergal von Behemoth oder der schwedischen Punklegende Thåström), Jerome Reuter erfindet sich beständig neu, und arbeitet kontinuierlich an einer singulären Stimme in der gegenwärtigen Popkultur. Wie ein Januskopf zurückgewandt in die Zukunft blickend.

ESINAM & Sibusile Xaba is a meeting of nomadic, wandering and kindred spirits in music. Both artists draw upon their ancestry: Belgian-Ghanaian(ESINAM) and Kwazulu Natal-South Africa (Sibusile Xaba) through a unique connection, a deep artistic and spiritual level, they use rhythms and grooves to translate stories to the audience. Their vocal chanting enhances trance to rhythmic patterns that grace us by melodies of the future and past.

On April 25th 2025, ESINAM & Sibsile Xaba will release their first joint album entitled 'Healing Voices'.

This album is a reflection of the kaleidoscopic multitude of musical inspirations running through the veins of two very talented solo artists. Both multi-instrumentalists, they provide many different layers to their music. Each track is a reflection of their cross-pollination. Musically inspired by Ghanaian Highlife and traditional songs from Zulu and Ewe culture, but with a distinct contemporary interpretation where their acoustic sound is enhanced by electronic gadgets.

As multi-instrumentalists, the two artists translate messages from their ancestors through rhythms and grooves. Their vocal chanting enhances trance to rhythmic patterns that grace us by melodies of the future and past.

Thanks to their Belgian-Ghanaian and South-African roots, they are unique in their being, strong in their union and connected on deep artistic and spiritual levels. The collaboration between ESINAM and Sibusile Xaba is bringing healing to body and soul.

In 2018 Esinam discovered Sibusile Xaba during his European (solo)tour. She was enchanted by his musical energy and craftsmanship and invited him as a vocal guest feature on the track 'Flowing River', from her debut album 'Shapes in Twilights of infinity'. When she was asked at the first edition of WOMAD Festival in South Africa if she wanted to collaborate with a 'local artist', she didn't have to think twice.

So in October 2022, Esinam and Sibusile seized this opportunity to dive into the rehearsal and recording studio, and discover and combine each other's musical universes to shape up new music together.

In May 2023 this collaboration continued with rehearsals, recordings and a first European tour with performances in Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Germany and Slovenia.

In March 2024 they released the first single 'Africa Wola' out of the fothcoming album. In November 2024, they released a remix of their first single by South-African DJ and producer DaCapo and played at Visa for Music in Morocco.

Nocturnes 2 was created at the initiative of the label Midnight Special Records. We invited artists to write music for a new planet, a new world, and then to come and record it in our studio.



With this album, we aim to offer you a journey across different celestial bodies, each designed by the selected artists who participated in this project.



The album is also a tribute to Joe Meek's work I Hear a New Word, recognized for its innovative approach to production and its sound explorations.

Romano, synthesizer wizard and a hidden creative force behind much of Tel Aviv"s vibrant musical scene, unveils his debut solo album, "Güle Güle", for Batov Records. A cinematic journey through groove, nostalgia, and diverse cultural soundscapes, the album showcases Romano"s rich musical heritage and cutting-edge creativity, building a unique sound worldwide from influences as vast as funk, disco, reggae, to Latin America, the Balkans and particularly the Middle East.

Nach fünfunddreißig Jahren an der Spitze der sich ständig weiterentwickelnden Musiklandschaft von New Orleans beschloss der Grammy-Preisträger Jon Cleary, diesen Sound wieder nach Hause zu bringen, sowohl im übertragenen als auch im wörtlichen Sinne. Er versammelte seine Absolute Monster Gentlemen (seine gefeierte All-Star-Bigband) in seinem Heimstudio im Bywater-Viertel von New Orleans, stellte eine Setlist mit einigen seiner beliebtesten Songs - und einigen neuen Favoriten - zusammen und nahm sie auf. Das Ergebnis ist "The Bywater Sessions", eine musikalische Tour-de-Force, die den Funk und die Freude zeigt, die Konzertsäle von New Orleans bis Tokio und darüber hinaus gefüllt hat.
