WUCAN are a young heavy retro rock band from Dresden, Germany with
deep roots in the late 60s and early seventies with a dash of blues, folk,
progressive and Kraut rock
This sort of time- warp music is covering the gamut from the Woodstock
generation to the modern rock sound, starting with acoustic guitar, traverse flute
and Hammond organ and ending at the modern rock sound of the heavy kind.
WUCAN made the right choice of partners with producer and owner of the Big
Snuff Studios in Berlin Richard Behrens and with Andreas € Lupo € Lubich of
Calyx Mastering for a successful debut in the retro rock scene. Richard Behrens,
who is bassist of the 70s band HEAT and live toning of the genre heroes
KADAVAR additionally to his producing duties, created an authentic 70s sound by
using analogue machinery. Combined with the modern heavy surround of the
band unfolds a fresh mix of yesterday and today, which bursts with lust for music.

Berlin-based psychedelic sludge and dark postmetal heavy weights Shovel are gearing up for the
release of their self-titled, first full length album.
Ever since their first gig, Shovel create an immediate
connection with the vibrant scene of Berlin and,
following their first demo in 2019, they managed to
establish themselves within the heavy music
underground.
The four piece connect the immediacy of an intense
riffage, existential screams and the elusiveness of
experimental sounds and otherworldly atmospheres.
Emerging from the mud of sludge, doom and post
metal, their intense music travels through the
openness and freedom of psychedelic textures to
end up crawling in black metal claustrophobia and
despair with an unconventional and distinct sound.
Shovel’s album was recorded at Big Snuff Studio,
Berlin by producer and engineer Richard Behrens
(Kadavar, Samsara Blues Experiment, Elder). The
album was mastered in The Atomic Garden Studio
(Oakland, California, USA) by Grammy-nominated
producer Jack Shirley (Amenra, Deafheaven,
Oathbreaker).

Durch die Adern von "Live at Earthquaker" pulsiert eine organische, rohe Energie, da die EP im Hauptquartier der EarthQuaker Devices in Akron, Ohio während der US-Tour mit KADAVAR komplett live aufgenommen wurde. Die drei Tracks bestehen aus zwei frühen Versionen brandneuer Songs, die auf dem für 2022 angekündigten neuen Studioalbum der Riff-Rocker in überarbeiteten, voll produzierten Fassungen erneut auftauchen werden. Mit ihrer erstmals in physischer Form erscheinenden, wilden Interpretation von URIAH HEEPs 70er-Hymne 'Easy Livin'' setzen RUBY THE HATCHET der EP das Sahnehäubchen auf.
"Live at Earthquaker" ist ein köstlicher Vorgeschmack auf die mit Spannung erwartete Rückkehr der Band aus New Jersey mit einem frischen Album und Konzertreisen im Jahr 2022.
