Die limitierte Vinyl-Veröffentlichung des Albums „Love Songs“ von Elton John ist am 2. September endlich wieder als Vinyl erhältlich.

Das Album, welches 1993 ursprünglich veröffentlicht wurde, knüpft an den enormen Erfolg von „The Very Best Of“ und an seine erste britische Solo-Nr.1, „Sacrifice“, im Jahr 1990 an. „Love Songs“ enthält
18 von Eltons beliebtesten Balladen und erreichte Platz 4 der britischen Charts und hielt sich 48 Wochen
lang in den Charts.

Das Album ist als 2LP und auf 180g Vinyl erhältlich.

Nils Frahm hält sein Versprechen aus dem letzten Jahr und veröffentlicht eine weiteres Piano-Album nach Day. Night, das fünf neue Tracks enthält zudem als CD-Version Night & Day, die alle elf Stücke von Day und Night vereint. Die Stücke auf Night nahm Frahm auf dem Klavins M450 auf - einem einzigartigen Klavier, das in seinem Studio im Berliner Funkhaus steht. Gebaut wurde es vom deutsch-lettischen Klavierbauer David Klavins für den ersten Piano Day im Jahr 2015 - ein von Frahm initiierter Feiertag, der in diesem März bereits zum zehnten Mal mit Konzerten und Aktionen rund um den Globus begangen wird. Mit 4,5 Metern Höhe und über einer Tonne Gewicht war es damals das größte aufrecht stehende Klavier der Welt. Das neue Album erinnert daran, dass Nils Frahm zwar längst für seine komplex arrangierten, multiinstrumentalen Werke bekannt ist, aber seinen Ruf ursprünglich mit ebenso meditativen Klavierkompositionen auf Alben wie The Bells (2009), Felt (2011) und Screws (2012) begründete. Wie schon Day zeigt auch Night, dass Frahm ein Meister der subtilen Schönheit bleibt - mit Stücken voller Zärtlichkeit, Eleganz und einer prägnanten Ausdruckskraft, die lange nachklingt.

A huge part of this exploratory new era was Aaron Dessner, who produced Light Sleeper. His isolated cabin studio Long Pond, in Hudson Valley, was once Bess' desktop background, but she never thought she would end up star-gazing on its veranda and noodling away on the same instruments used by her heroes, not to mention a certain pop star... The immediate trust between the pair clicked the moment Atwell walked through the doors of the iconic recording space; Dessner showed her around and then promptly left her alone to play on the many instruments at the heart of her favourite The National songs. As Atwell puts it, they seemed to speak the same musical language. "I trust his ear and I knew we had the same vision" she says.

Soul Jazz Records’ new Secret Superstar Sounds brings together a wealth of incredibly catchy tunes from late-70s/early-80s British groups that you have probably never heard of! Powerpop mixed together a love of lyrical and melodically beautiful 60s pop and garage sounds, together with the energy and attitude of 70s punk. Almost completely out of kilter with the fashions of the day (punk, new wave and post-punk) these bands managed to fall between the musical cracks at almost every step of the way – leaving them practically unknown to all but a few.

Inspired by the D-I-Y messaging of bands like The Desperate Bicycles, Sniffing Glue fanzine and early UK punk labels like Stiff, Chiswick and Rough Trade, these bands chose mainly to go into a studio and make their own private press/D-I-Y records themselves – then try to work out everything else (promotion, marketing, etc) afterwards. As mainly outsiders to the mainstream music industry, and usually unable to make any inroads into it, save for sending their own record to John Peel, most of these bands fell at the first hurdle.

These records remain both beautifully crafted 3-minute musical gems, and long-lost micro-histories of an essentially hidden genre.
Featured bands here include The Squares, The Meanies, The Monitors, Plummet Airline, Tours, Gobblinz, Krypton Tunes and more. Most of these records were self-published D-I-Y releases made in very limited-editions and were often the only tracks ever released by these groups.

Recently, for example, he dreamed of Gunnar, who had witnessed the rise and fall of electronic dance music, which had once held simple-minded creatures in its thrall. The beats had a peculiar effect on them, drawing them into euphoric trances. But Gunnar, allergic to its hypnotic frequencies, stood apart, unaffected. However, eventually, in a hidden enclave in the highlands of Reykjavík, he met Dr. Amara El-Amin, a neuroscientist fascinated by his unique immunity. Together, they discovered that Gunnar's resistance was a gift, offering insights into human consciousness and the power of music. With this knowledge, Gunnar inspired a global movement celebrating frequencies that resonate...differently. Though EDM had become a relic, Gunnar Oliasson remained a legend - a bad taste survivor who embraced a symphony of pure electrical potential, a language of circuits and oscillations beyond sound.

'Trá Pháidín are an Irish nine piece collective from Conamara, Galway, a wild coastal region of West Ireland where Gaeilge remains the first language. The group are currently lighting up Ireland's underground with their joyful noise, a unique and unpredictable blend of traditional Irish folk, post-rock, jazz, and Dadaist absurdity. The glorious album An 424 takes us on a psychogeographical journey along the 424 bus route which follows this remote stretch of coastline, introducing us to the landscapes and the characters who depend on the buses. Expect wild improvisational flights filled with brass, woodwinds, harp and fiddles alongside relentless grooves.

Psychogeography is a funny aul term......the effect geography and landscape of a certain area has on the psychology, identity and nature of the local people...........I suppose

Notoriously, Conamara is famous place for psychogeoraphy due to the work of the great Tom Robinson. He walked every coastline in every area contemplating the geography, culture, history, Gaelic language, English language and folklore of the area while he was drawing it's best map with great depth and detail.

Right, so I've given context, a few buzzwords and some interesting names, now it's time for the absurd stuff....

"Bóthar Chois Fharraige" (the R336 and whatever anglicized name they call it) is well known by everyone in the South Conamara Gaeltacht (Gaeltacht is an area where Irish/Gaeilge is the dominant language, there aren't many because we were colonized by the British and our government doesn't care about its own language). The people of Conamara travel this road almost every day by car, by bike, on Peadar Óg's buses or of course, through the medium of the 424 (the bus service provided by Bus Éireann, Ireland's public-private bus company). From Bearna to Carna (maybe sometimes a detour in Casla going as far back as an Cheathrú Rua and/or Leitir Mealláin)

Every passenger is well versed of gorgeous views of the landscape that is on offer on this journey. Included are Cuan na Gaillimhe/Galway Bay, An Bhoirinn/the Burren, na hOileáin Árann/the Arann Islands,Aillte an Mhothair/the Cliffs of Moher, Portach Mhaigh Cuilinn/the bogs of Maigh Cuilinn, Bóthar Loch an Iolra/Eagle lake road, Cuan Casla/Casla Harbour, Cuan an Fhir Mhóir/Greatman's Bay, Cnoc Mordáin/Mordáin hill, Sléibhte Mhám Toirc/the Maamturk Mountains and Na Beanna Beola/the twelve pins. Passengers would also be well used the unique character of the bus. Depending on the day, you will get a unique perspective of the "complicated identity" of the Gaels as the bus travels from the Gaeltacht into anglophone Ireland, or maybe going the other way.

This is a topic you could write a PhD about (and maybe someone already has). But, if you are someone who grew up or lives in this region, you have a particular understanding at this stage of how complicated Gaelic psyche is and the kind of spectrum of identity along bóthar Choise Fharraige. With the landscape in mind, this bus journey is a great meditation of the various topics of life.

The title song is a 2CELLOS original, and to top it all off, there's an unforgettable guest collaboration with their good friend, Lang Lang on the Paul McCartney classic "Live and Let Die." Das 12-Track-Album ist emotional ein Garagenalbum, euphorisch und therapeutisch. Es ist eine Reise durch cineastische Melancholie, schwebende Synthies und Momente der Zerbrechlichkeit, gespickt mit Sprachsamples. Tech-Wizard Lawrence Hart, der allein schon durch seinen Großvater, den berühmten Computerpionier Geoff Tootill, eine wissenschaftliche DNA hat, wurde schon als Kind zum klassischen Musiker ausgebildet. Bereits mit 15 Jahren sprach er an einigen der renommiertesten Musikschulen New Yorks vor und studierte dann Jazztrompete am SUNY Purchase College bei berühmten VertreterInnen des Fachs. Er spielte an der Seite von Größen wie Bob Mover (einem ehemaligen Kollegen von Charlie Mingus und Chet Baker) auf den Bühnen der Jazzclubs New Yorks. Bald entdeckte Hart die elektronische Musik und das Clubbing für sich.Seine Fähigkeiten als Produzent entwickelte er während der Zusammenarbeit mit dem Double Six/Domino-Künstler George FitzGerald, mit dem ihn eine langjährige musikalische Beziehung verbindet. Bis heute hat Hart Solo-Singles, EPs und Remixe auf Hotflush, Attack Decay Sweet Release, LG105 und seinem eigenen Label SSEM veröffentlicht.

LEPER COLONY kreuzen den deutschen und schwedischen Death Metal Stil mit klassischen Einflüssen aus der US-Szene. Die Band entstand aus der langjährigen Freundschaft und der gemeinsamen Liebe zum Death Metal der alten Schule, die den deutschen Sänger Marc Grewe und den schwedischen Gitarristen Rogga Johansson dazu brachten, im Jahr 2020 ein gemeinsames Album zu produzieren. Das Duo holte sich CONSUMPTION-Schlagzeuger Jon Skäre und Lead-Gitarrist Kjetil Lyngahug (PAGANIZER) ins Boot, um das selbstbetitelte Debütalbum aufzunehmen, welches im Jahr 2023 veröffentlicht wurde. Das Werk wurde von Kritikern und Fans gleichermaßen positiv aufgenommen. Es wurde schnell klar, dass es sich bei LEPER COLONY keineswegs bloß um ein weiteres "Superprojekt" handelte, sondern dass eingefleischte Death Metal Fanatiker mit einer Vielzahl von frischen Ideen aufwarten. Marc Crewe hat sich als ehemaliger Frontmann von MORGOTH, und später mit INSIDIOUS DISEASE sowie ASINHELL einen klangvollen Namen in der Szene erworben. Gitarrist und Bassist Rogga Johansson prägte den schwedischen Death Metal in einer Reihe von Bands wie PAGANIZER, RIBSPREADER und REVOLTING entscheidend mit. WOMBBATH-Gitarrist Håkan Stuvemark übernahm mittlerweile die Leadgitarre und Jon Rudin wurde ebenfalls als neues Mitglied verpflichtet. Der britische Schlagzeuger ist unter anderem von MONSTROUS und DEAD SUN bekannt. Mit "Those of the Morbid" geben LEPER COLONOY allen Old School Death Metal Fans exakt das brutale und kompromisslose Album, auf das sie lange warten mussten!

'Hand to Mouth' ist ein bewusster Umgang mit Raum und Zurückhaltung. Keeley Forsyth - Komponistin, Sängerin und Schauspielerin aus Oldham im Nordwesten Englands - und ihr langjähriger Kollaborateur Matthew Bourne schöpfen aus der Erfahrung, die sie in den letzten Jahren mit dem Zusammenspiel von Stimme und Harmonium gesammelt haben. 'Hand to Mouth' greift diese Sensibilität auf und verfeinert sie durch minimale, hypnotische Texturen und elliptische musikalische Strukturen.

"FURIE" ist Musik. Freude. Gegenwart und Avantgarde. Im Mai 2025 löst Alicia Edelweiss mit ihren zweiten Studio-Album "FURIE" das Versprechen ein, das ihr sechs Jahre zuvor erschienenes Debut-Album gab: der Pop-Landschaft etwas tatsächlich Neues und ehrlich Interessantes hinzufügen. "FURIE" enthält 8 Songs von heute sehr selten gewordener Länge. Sie haben ausreichend Raum und Zeit, um ihre eigenen kleinen Panoramen zu entfalten - die Künstlerin selber vergleicht sie mit Kurzfilmen, auf deren Handlungswendungen und Plot Twists man achten muss. Es sei gar nicht ihre Entscheidung, die Songs so lang zu machen, erzählt sie, sondern sie nicht zu kürzen. Für deren Länge und Konsequenz nutzt die Künstlerin das Wort Integrität. Was für ein wunderschöner Anspruch an die eigene Musik. Daher ist "FURIE" auch ein Album im fast altmodischen, im engsten, Sinne: Was einem heute wirklich sehr selten begegnet und was es zu einer echten Ausnahme macht, ist, dass wir tatsächlich vor gleichberechtigten und gleichermaßen qualitätvollen Songs stehen. Diese Stücke sind, da darf man das Wort Pop nicht falsch verstehen, nie vorhersehbar, niemals nur geschrieben - sie sind erdichtet, erdacht und komponiert. Zuweilen erkämpft. Das freilich, merkt man ihnen nicht an. Die Musikerin hat das Heavy Lifting übernommen - wir bekommen den Schwebezustand. Dieser gestaltet sich vor allem über Klang, Sound und Melodie, die als vielschichtige, komplexe Stimmungsträger funktionieren. Instrumentiert ist "FURIE" ungewöhnlich reich - mit Gitarre, Drums, Klavier, Akkordeon, vor allem mit Streichern, mit Tierstimmen, Geräuschen, Synthesizern, Glocken, Trompeten... für ein Lied ist der eigene Gesang unter Wasser aufgenommen worden. Es ist ein groß dekoriertes Album geworden. Es ist Verletzlichkeit und Maximalismus; im Ergebnis komplexer als das vorangegangene Debut. FURIE strebt nach Exzellenz. Gerade dort, wo das Schöne in dem Risiko liegt, nicht perfekt zu sein, sondern richtig.

Lisa Wilhelms neues Album SO CLOSE erscheint am 9. Mai 2025 bei BERTHOLD records und bringt eine spannende Weiterentwicklung ihrer Musik. In Zusammenarbeit mit Lukas Wögler (Saxophon), Moritz Langmaier (Klavier), Franz Blumenthal (Bass) und Lisa Wilhelm (Komposition und Schlagzeug) kombiniert sie lyrischen Jazz mit verträumten Pop-Klängen. Das Album erweitert das ursprüngliche Jazz-Quartett um Gesangseinlagen von Mareike Riegert, Nate Dailey und Nico-Alexander Wilhelm sowie ein Streichquartett. Wilhelms Kompositionen sind tief von persönlichen Erlebnissen und literarischen Entdeckungen inspiriert. Die Reise von SO CLOSE führt die Hörer durch intime Erinnerungen und emotionale Momente, die in Klänge übersetzt werden. Lieder wie "Change the Game", geschrieben für ihren Bruder, sprechen von den Herausforderungen von Druck und Erfolg, während "Four Voices" die inneren Kämpfe junger Frauen thematisiert. Mit SO CLOSE setzt Wilhelm mehr auf arrangierte Kompositionen, während sie ihre jazzigen Wurzeln und improvisierten Elemente beibehält. 'Atmospheric death metal'. Three simple words to describe one's music, chosen by JADE mainman J. himself, although they don't seem to quite pay justice to the gigantic scope of their music. Because ever since the release of their debut demo back in 2018 they've proven again and again to be more. Much more. Historically speaking, the word 'jade' referred to a rare but valuable mineral in ancient times all over the world. From Mesoamerican cultures to Chinese and Southern Asian ones, the greenstone was conferred with deep spiritual symbolism and used to connect the earthly level to the unknown. The history of countless traditions, legends and cults remain as an endless source of topics in terms of lyrics for the band, with a rich historical narrative also poetized. JADE's music is described by J. as "a tribute to the timeless obscure metal language, from early death/doom manifestations to later atmospheric black acts, in a really heavy, intense and epic form which transcends ages, as the greenstone cult has endured." The sophomore album, and second full-length after last year split LP with SANCTUARIUM, Mysteries Of A Flowery Dream carries an ominous wave of darkness, redefining heaviness with new levels of musical production and arrangements, compared by J. to "a journey into the dialogue between conscious and subconscious dreaming states and the mysteries around." The album's lyrics are in direct line of those themes, echoing the celestial world and how it can help us overcoming ominous times ("The Stars' Shelter"), how dreams can be interpreted as omens ("Light's Blood") and how they allow us to travel the Mayan cosmovision and its various worlds for guidance, healing and messages ("Shores Of Otherness"), among others. You can even find on the cover artwork elements of the ancient Mesoamerican cosmovision, mainly the powerful moon goddess Ixchel, a creative yet destructive entity, portrayed here as the Spider and threading human fate like an umbilical cord, determined to give life but also to destroy it if needed. A frightening, fragile yet utterly fascinating balance perfectly illustrated by Mysteries Of A Flowery Dream.

Die sieben befreundete Musiker:innen aus Dresden und Berlin kennen sich schon seit vielen Jahren, gemeinsam waren und sind sie in den Bands Mola (Soul & Funk) und Yellow Cap (Ska & Rocksteady) aktiv. Der enthusiastische Yellow Cap Sänger überzeugte die sechs anderen Musiker:innen von seiner Vision einer ,Early Reggae & Rocksteady" Band, die sich vorerst ausschließlich mit jamaikanischen und britischen Cover-Songs aus den 60er und 70er Jahren beschäftigt. Ltd edition Sine TEAL Vinyl, DL card with Bonus Tracks. Vanishing Twin's seminal LP, The Age Of Immunology, receives a LTD edition re-pressing, this version is sine teal vinyl with matching sleeve colour. As essential take on psych-pop futurism and a must for fans of Broadcast, Sun Ra and Ennio Morricone. Establishing the band as innovators in their field, the record was declared "a masterpiece" by The Line Of Best Fit, while The Quietus asserted Vanishing Twin as "one of the most original and exciting acts of the moment". This was the group's first LP for Fire Records, at the time of recording the band's evolving lineup consisted of songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist Cathy Lucas, drummer Valentina Magaletti, bassist Susumu Mukai, synth/guitar player Phil MFU and visual artist/film maker Elliott Arndt on flute and percussion. The album was produced by Lucas in a number of non-standard, non-studio settings. 'KRK (At Home In Strange Places)' summons up the spirit of Sun Ra's Lanquidity and Broadcast And The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults Of The Radio and was simply recorded on an iPhone during a live set which crackled with psychic connectivity on the Croatian island of Krk. The magical Morricone-esque lounge of 'You Are Not an Island', the blissed-out Jean-Claude Vannier style arrangement of 'Invisible World' and burbling sci fi funk ode to a 1972 cult French animation, 'Planete Sauvage', were all recorded in nighttime sessions in an abandoned mill in Sudbury.

eigenen Alben den revolutionären Sound von Impulse! Records entscheidend mitgeprägt. Auf “Love In Us
All”, seinem vorletzten Album für das Label, zog der Saxofonist 1974 noch einmal alle Register mit zwei
grandiosen, epischen Nummern, die jeweils eine ganze LP-Seite füllen und die Zuhörer vom ersten bis zum
letzten Ton in ihren Bann ziehen.

Nothing is lost on Cash Langdon. It’s something you can hear in the observational lyrics of his last record, 2022’s Sinister Feeling; but on its follow-up, Dogs, you can also hear it in the camaraderie he cultivates playing live with his band Meadow Dust, a sonic energy that gives off the heat of his native Birmingham. The trio’s fuzzy take on heavy country rock has a worn-in no-fussiness that recalls Neil Young & Crazy
Horse – nothing overthought, nothing understated. And like Young, Langdon’s voice is simultaneously earnest and world-weary – but there’s a sense of humor, too, and a resignation to keeping on (“Dogs,” “Magic Again”). Recorded at Portside Studios (the former location of the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound) in just two days, engineer Brad Timko (Dan Sartain, St. Paul and The Broken Bones) captured Langdon and Meadow Dust at their fiercest yet. The title track “Dogs” and side B heater “Dead Dogs” both take inspiration from the wild dogs Langdon encountered in his neighborhood at the time of writing the record, where he wondered about the sick twist of fate that renders one dog a pet and another a threat. Across songs, he examines how oppressive cycles overlap, intersecting the personal and the societal at all times. The heavy yet melodic “Lilac Whiskey Noise” is the heartbeat of the record, written following an active shooter event that Langdon witnessed at work in 2016. It’s an indictment – not of the perpetrator – but of the systems of power that enable such an act. It’s a microcosm for all of the themes on the album, too: the ongoing violence of simply being awake to the world around you, and the resolve to stay awake anyway.
On the crunchy album-closer “Nothing’s Good Anymore,” Langdon sings about overhearing someone say just that – and you can tell he’s tempted to agree. He’s going to find what kernel of beauty he can. Dogs is a sonic map for finding that beauty in just about anything.

Process of Elimination explores sickness as a teacher for anti-capitalist modes of being; a rewilding of the self. The product of an attempt to be indestructible, this sickness has an unknown diagnosis. The only route to determine the indeterminable is via a process of elimination. Eliminate the noise so it may quieten and make space for listening to what whispers underneath, allowing a return to the present moment. Slowness and queerness as technologies, questions as answers and mysticism as a path to healing when science alone does not suffice.

London-based multidisciplinary artist El Hardwick’s sophomore album follows their experience of becoming chronically ill after years of treating their body like a machine. El explains: “After failing to receive a diagnosis, which is only given via a lengthy process of elimination, I instead turned to autonomous modes of healing rooted in mysticism and herbalism; putting aside the need to be defined. My journey towards accepting my disability is told in parallel to my coming-out as trans. I also see my non-binary identity as a process of elimination: I am neither gender, both, in-between. It is through rewilding myself from capitalism and gender normativity that I learn how to connect to my body and the earth; no longer allowing either’s energy to be extracted from. The less I sought answers, language, metrics and analysis, the more peace I found.”

Following the hyperactive “Blood Karaoke” (2022, Reading Group), “Performing Belief” builds rhythmic thickets from gathered sounds interwoven with synths, drum machines and other samples. Having built these rhythmic nests, Krivchenia then called on two contemporary mages of the low end: electric bassist and fellow Angeleno Sam Wilkes (Wilkes/Gendel) and double bassist/multi-instrumentalist from Krivchenia’s native Chicago, Joshua Abrams (Natural Information Society). Wilkes and Abrams bring the presence of a grounding human witness to the rhythmic undergrowth, providing a centering and even at times melodic voice to the gathering. This alchemy carries a profoundly fresh sense of time, blurring the edges of the quantized grid and the generic boundaries of electronic music.

The core of the album is a lush, opulent matrix of percussion ranging from the familiar—hand claps and drum machines—to the mysteriously verdant, sampled largely from Krivchenia’s own performed field recorded collection. For years, he would record any and all of his musical encounters with natural objects: performing on a particularly resonant log on a hike, throwing rocks into a pristine pond, tap dancing in the mud. This archive of “natural” sounds became the fertile soil out of which the tracks on “Performing Belief” grew. What is gained in the process is not just a novel set of sounds, but a new rhythmic language. The particular give, the anticipatory rustle, the extra breath of a hollow log when functioning as a kickdrum provides a greenness that overtakes the rhythmic grid, giving this music a peculiar kind of stickiness. This rhythmic language, set in Krivchenia’s long-fermenting electronic musical palate, feels like a revelation, even while it calls back not only to his wonderfully elastic timekeeping behind the kit with his beloved band Big Thief, but also to his prior work in computer music as well as his deep study and love of the vast human archive of drumming. “Performing Belief” is in good company in the rank and file of the legendary Planet Mu label. From the foundational early releases of the likes of Jega and Venetian Snares, to the contemporary envelope-warping work of Jlin and hundreds of brilliant releases in between, Planet Mu has been a beacon of forward-thinking rhythmic music for decades, informing Krivchenia’s own sense of the weird metaphysics of musical time since he was a kid. Krivchenia’s contribution to this history calls to mind the principle of organic danceability that subtends Mu’s whole catalogue, while bending our sense of rhythm in new and gracious dimensions. Discover the groundbreaking sound of Los Texao, a legendary Peruvian rock band that helped shape the music scene in the 1970s. Born in the culturally rich city of Arequipa, Los Texao's journey to stardom was paved with innovation, passion, and an undeniable connection to their roots. Their music fused the energy of psychedelic rock with Latin American influences, captivating audiences across their native Peru, Los Texao's psychedelic phase was marked by experimentation with new sounds and instruments. This release comprises their complete recordings, including all their singles and also covers of some of the most influential rock bands of the era, most of them previously unavailable on vinyl. Formed in 1969, the band took their name from Arequipa's emblematic flower, the nasturtium, and made an immediate impact with their debut at a local band contest. Soon after, they recorded their first 45 RPM single, which included covers of tracks by Chilean group Los Beat 4. But it was in the early 70s when Los Texao truly found their voice. With a dynamic lineup, including the talented Fernando "Feño" Humbser and Juan Núñez on guitar, Víctor Dibán on vocals and bass, and Edgar "Chito" Manrique on drums, their musical evolution began to take shape. The addition of Julio Torres, a keyboardist and guitarist from the iconic bands Los Beatniks and Los Dig It, further elevated their sound. Los Texao's psychedelic phase was marked by experimentation with new sounds and instruments. They embraced the emerging trend of playing rock in English, despite the language barrier, and incorporated cutting-edge gear. With the help of the legendary Peruvian jazz musician Jaime Delgado Aparicio, they created hypnotic tracks like 'Algún día' and 'Nunca cambias,' capturing the essence of 70s rock with swirling textures and atmospheric vibes. But it wasn't just the melodies that set them apart - their electrifying rhythms and powerful arrangements, like those heard in 'Stone' and 'La pelea del gobernador,' showcased their refined musicianship and intense dedication. Los Texao quickly became a sensation in Peru, performing in cities like Puno, Moquegua, and Arica (Chile), and sharing stages with iconic bands like Los Shain's, Traffic Sound, and Telegraph Avenue. Their infamous hit 'La pelea del gobernador' tells a tale of generational conflict and rebellious youth, captured in a live performance that still resonates with audiences today. The band's wild live shows became the stuff of legend, with fans packing into intimate venues to experience the raw energy of their loud, unapologetic rock. In addition to their 45s, Los Texao also recorded covers of some of the most influential rock bands of the era, including Cream, Steppenwolf, and The Guess Who, showcasing their versatility and love for classic rock. Unfortunately, this session remained lost for years and some of these covers have never been available on vinyl before. Despite their growing success, Los Texao eventually disbanded in 1975 due to personal and professional challenges. But their legacy never faded.
