ALL ROADS LEAD HOME ist ein Album, das gleichermaßen aus purer Inspiration und der veränderten gesellschaftlichen Situation heraus
entstanden ist: Während der Pandemie nahmen Molina, Talbot und Lofgren in regelmäßigen Abständen neue Songs auf, jeweils mit anderen Musikern und an wechselnden Orten - so, wie es die
pandemischen Bedingungen zuließen. Anders als sonst, konnten sie nicht im Trio mit Neil Young arbeiten, was Herausforderung und Chance zugleich war, denn so mussten die Musiker zwangsläufig
schauen, wohin die neuen individuellen Konfigurationen führen würden. Sie führten, wie so vieles in der Zeit, zunächst einmal: nach Hause.

Dort, wo sich für uns alle das soziale Leben der Zeit abspielte. Die drei Crazy-Horse-Mitglieder nahmen jeweils drei Songs getrennt voneinander und mit unterschiedlichen Musikern auf. Und schauten dann, wie sie all das zu einem wundersamen Konsens unvergesslicher Musik zusammenfügen konnten. Das Kunststück gelang. Ein Album wie dieses hat man von der Band noch nie gehört.

Out Loud is the debut solo album from Gary Klebe, guitarist/vocalist of the power-pop band Shoes. Formed in Zion, Illinois in 1974, Shoes was influenced by British Invasion groups of the 1960s and artists like Big Star, Bowie, the Move, Todd Rundgren, Nils Lofgren. The band first gained attention by self-releasing records on their own Black Vinyl Records label before signing to Elektra Records. Albums like Black Vinyl Shoes, Present Tense, and Tongue Twister earned them critical acclaim and cult-favorite status, with songs such as “Too Late,” “Tomorrow Night,” and “Your Imagination” becoming genre touchstones. Shoes’ melodic craftsmanship and independent spirit have made them hugely influential, inspiring generations of power-pop and indie rock bands.

San Francisco–born singer-songwriter Ben Kweller returns with Cover The Mirrors, his seventh studio album — and perhaps his most personal work to date. Known in the late ’90s as a member of post-grunge outfit Radish, who were signed to Mercury Records and even counted Nils Lofgren among their fans, Kweller has since carved out a long and prolific solo career rooted in melodic indie rock and unfiltered emotion. Cover The Mirrors is a deeply poignant record, written in honour of what would have been Kweller’s late son Dorian Zev’s 19th birthday. It also marks Kweller’s first release since Dorian’s tragic passing in 2023 — an event that reshaped both his life and his music. Far from retreating into silence, Kweller channels his grief into a collection of songs that explore loss, love, and renewal with raw honesty. “This is the most personal, emotionally raw project I've ever worked on,” he reflects, and every track bears that truth. The album features an impressive roster of collaborators from across the indie landscape: Waxahatchee joins on “Dollar Store,” a sparse and arresting song built on two vocals and a guitar that eventually erupts into a distorted, soaring finale; MJ Lenderman lends his touch to “Oh Dorian,” a tender tribute steeped in warmth and melancholy; Jason Schwartzman resurrects his mid-aughts project Coconut Records for the haunting “Depression”; and psych-rock icons The Flaming Lips appear on the shimmering, otherworldly “Killer Bee.” Musically, Kweller’s craft is as sharp and sincere as ever — intimate yet expansive, stripped-down yet powerful. Cover The Mirrors captures an artist walking through grief with purpose, turning heartbreak into something both fragile and transcendent. Doris Brendel & Lee Dunham take an unexpected yet electrifying turn into the world of Blues with their latest album, Big Blue Sky. Known for her powerhouse vocals and genre-defying style, Brendel—who recently won the HRH Prog Angel Award 2024—delivers 13 beautifully crafted Blues tracks that blend raw emotion, soulful melodies, and top-tier musicianship. With Big Blue Sky, she proves once again that she refuses to be boxed into a single genre, bringing her signature husky, bluesy vocals to a project that is both timeless and innovative.
