There's a new band in town! comforter2 is the new baby of Meetsysteem, Tammo Hesselink & Marianne Noordzij. Born from a residency space in Arnhem as they we're being snowed in over the pandemic, comforter2 is a band for club heads and a club act for band heads. Sometimes two worlds meet - and through this conversation love is found - that's a quote from the album > there's a lyric sheet included with the cassette so you can read along. If you're familiar with their solo projects you won't be surprised by the size of this debut; 16 fresh, club-leaning, indie pop/rock tunes that we'll release on cassette as well as digital. The tracks are formed by all members: Tammo's knack for bass and rhythms, Meetsysteem's song- writing skills (the album is sung in English) and together by Marianne's designs and voice, adding a touch of blissful psychedelia. It's an honest, upfront album about the highs and lows of modern life, seen through the eyes of a raver at their peak. Darauf nimmt die interdisziplinäre Künstlerin den akustischen Trash unserer Zeit her, transformiert ihn und setzt ihn neu in Beziehung. Der überladene Rausch, die groteske Künstlichkeit und der gezwungene Spaß von Plastik-Pop und Aprés Ski wurden zerlegt und neu kombiniert im Kontext kontemporärer elektronischer Musik. "To The Center" ist ein weiterer retro-psychedelischer Heavy Rock Knaller, der seine Riffmuskeln gestählt hat und auf technischer Ebene mit ungeheuer guten Gitarrenjams aufwartet. Die Ergebnisse sind manchmal nicht absolut zielgerichtet, aber das fällt nicht ins Gewicht, wenn man sich mit dieser Art des Metal auskennt - es passt in diesen Kontext der Bewusstseinserweiterung. Was mehr ausmacht als Punktlandungen für die Songs, sind Riffs und Atmosphäre: ,To The Center" hat ausreichend von beidem. Ursprünglich erschien das Album 1999 auf Sub Pop und klingt progressiver und psychedelischer als die anderen Alben der Band. Produziert von Jack Endino und NEBULA. Endino trat auch als Toningenieur in Erscheinung, während das Album im April 1999 bei Hanzsek Audio in Seattle aufgenommen wurde.

Nick Oliveri performs all of the instruments (vocals, guitar, bass & drums) on the album as well as all of the production & writing of the songs. He also recruited guest performers in such as Blag Dahlia of The Dwarves & Motörhead's Phil Campbell. The album is dedicated to deceased Eyehategod drummer Joey LaCaze. Heavy Psych Sounds is releasing a brand new REPRESS with new coloured vinyl.

"Dolt land" diverges from the more metal- oriented "Budet" (2020); instead, it continues the acoustic approach of the EPs "Vilsna andars boning" (2018) and "Vilsna andars utmark" (2022). Like the aforementioned two seven- inches, "Dolt land" pays homage to Kinnekulle - a mountain whose nature, legends, and traditions have served as Grift's main source of inspiration since the project's conception in 2011.

Erik plays all the instruments himself - including acoustic guitar, melodica, glockenspiel, analogue synth, and percussion - and has also sampled nature sounds to create a truly immersive listening experience. Soothing and stirring, yet still feral and untamed; Grift's evocative music will resonate with fans of Sangre de Muerdago, Anna von Hausswolff, and Nebelung.

I still remember it vividly and how I was haunted by the matter-of-fact line: 'you cut your head on the bedside table.' Its ten syllables sounded right, but the content is what really haunted me. Its first three albums, Planet P, Pink World, and Go Out Dancing, Part I (1931) were released in 1983, 1984, and 2005, respectively, and the first two saw a fair amount of MTV video airplay. Planet P's most well known singles were Why Me?, a sweeping, energetic romp about outer space and isolation, and the downbeat Static. Go Out Dancing, Part I (1931) is the first of a trilogy; part two, titled Go Out Dancing, Part II (Levittown) was released in May 2008 and Go Out Dancing Part III (Out in the Rain) was released in 2011.
