For its eleventh release, CAF? is happy to present an EP bringing together Swiss producer GANJ and rapper Nathalie Froehlich. From dub to dubstep, these 6 tracks never fail to give an industrial feeling, recalling wanders inside foggy clubs, those where smoke-machines never stop. In addition to the powerful instrumentals, Nathalie Froehlich’s sharp tone and raw lyrics intertwine perfectly with the wobbly basses and clear hats. Extended party, everybody wants it crowdy.

Albion Collective returns with a slick, boundary-pushing vinyl EP from Bristol’s own ØZ. This three-tracker, following on from Yoofee’s debut in 2021, continues to explore the vibrant, colourful and truly imaginative textures of 140 whilst staying true to the bass-driven ethos at the label’s core.

Opening up the EP, ØZ gives the people what they want. Within 16 bars ‘Namib’ is squelching, writhing and undulating in all the set-igniting ways an A-side should. Deep low- end, pristine sound design and a second drop fit for the steppas, ‘Namib’ is what we came here for. ‘Plasticity’ is why we stay, as it dives headfirst from the dark mystique and wonder of a Guillermo del Toro fairy-tale and into a glitched-out maelstrom sparking with electrified sub-knocks and eyebrow-searing white noise. While the A-side gets darker, the B-side gets funkier with ‘dawn’, unleashing slick keys and a mean trumpet solo over funky licks and ghetto basslines.

3 years in the making, Peaky Beats debut 10 track LP 'Bloodlines' takes us on a spiritual journey through ancient and modern middle eastern sounds fused with the spectrum of UK Bass music. Heavy subs and intricate rhythms bring this listening experience to life from the hypnotic melodies to the samples only a well-trained ear can catch. As well as teaming up with some good friends on two collaborations, Peaky has delved into a diverse and new sound whilst staying true to his musical roots in late 90’/ early 00’s UK Garage / Dubstep.

This collaboration between Spanish producer Nueen and Manc vocalist / rapper Iceboy Violet - who has previously sprinkled their magic dust across Hyperdub releases from aya and Loraine James - traces the arc of a four year relationship, memorialising its highs and documenting its lows, processing, reflecting, and then ending with the ecstatic spark of new love. It’s a magical, intimate and heartfelt album, sometimes anguished but often enchanting. Nueen's music responds with foggy, but richly detailed, production. Smudgy drill-laced beats contrast with curdled, spiralling chords, at times drawing out a malevolent ambience. ‘You Said You'd Hold My Hand Through The Fire’ is an immensely affecting and lucid album, powerfully wrought, ultimately hopeful.

20 years in the sound system game, 20 years of musical back-catalogue, 20 years setting fire to dance floors and elaborating their unique dub sound heavily soaked in reggae and bass music. Since the 70s, much like reggae, dub has been through non-stop mutations leaving its impact on the course of music evolution, and O.B.F Sound System are spearheading the genre’s recent growth; a style born from the underground that has discretely influenced the development of electronic music. Straight outta the French Alps, stemming from the core of Geneva’s alternative scene, one of the most warrior sound systems of the continent has established itself as an irresistible magnetic phenomenon.

On “LAVA” O.B.F continue their sonic ascension. Reaching a new milestone in their endless quest in dub music, unmistakably forward-thinking and bursting with modern influences. At the crossroads between contemporary urban sounds, bass music, club music and dancehall, LAVA's dub is heavy, undiluted. No half-stepping, O.B.F demonstrate how they whip up sound matter, how they fry up music in order to make big sound systems smoke.

‘LAVA’ is the O.B.F crew in fusion; consisting of its stellar team of MCs and renown solo- producer Rico; together concocting spontaneous studio eruptions. It’s the raw energy of a tight-knit family, a collection of 16 tracks of pure volcanic matter slapped onto wax. One after another or as a duo Belén Natalí (Argentina), Charlie P (UK), Sr. Wilson (Spain), Junior Roy (France) and the late great dub poet Nazamba (Jamaica) take turns blowing fire into the microphone. English, French, Jamaican Patois and Spanish collide, affirming O.B.Fs transnational identity.

Welcome to “Through Lines”, a collection of hand picked tracks by genre nomad and bass innovator Martyn, made between 2005 and 2015, carefully recovered and remastered for vinyl and digital release on 3024. Previously only available on 12” across a scattering of different labels, this set includes essential ‘Martyn Music’ (as the producer likes to classify it); tracks like “Vancouver” (A 140 staple to this day), “Mega Drive Generation” and his classic remix of TRG’s “Broken Heart”, as well as deeper cuts like the rare “Friedrichstrasse” and house gem “For Lost Relatives”.

This is not just a compilation of remastered music, it’s a document of an era of UK inspired dance music where ideas, genres, tempos and scenes seemed to rapidly merge and splinter off. An exciting time where producers constantly tried to one-up each other with new ideas and influences, in a vibrant international scene of small club nights from FWD>> and DMZ in London to Red Zone (co-run by Martyn) in the periphery, the earliest online forums like Dubstepforum and radio shows like Dj Flight’s BBC 1xtra show and Mary Anne Hobbs’ Breezeblock. Innovation in music never happens in a vacuum and is always a product of community, producers, writers, and other makers continuously inspiring and pushing each other to come up with the next thing. This ethos is present in all of Martyn’s music throughout the years, but also in his work with Jeroen Erosie as 3024 and within the 3024 Mentoring Program he runs today.

Garage powerhouse Zed Bias is back with more old school garage brilliance with the new single 'Shell Them Again' featuring the vocals of Yung Saber and Brakeman. The original has plenty of retro signifiers from the low-end wobble to the withering synth effects, plus crisp hits and jostling drums. After the dub mix comes a remix from Zed himself alongside Safire which is much more dirty and raw. The beats are broken up so the track takes on a dubstep quality as the low-end oscillations bring the weight and drums hit with more force. Finally, the acappella closes out this fresh 12" on IFG.

More great new music from Soul:r's home city of Manchester. Chimpo is a local legend. He's been on the underground scene for years, dj'ing and producing his homemade blend of multi genre bass infused electronic music. Known also for his unique microphone skills, Chimpo's delivery style and wit is something to behold. This Ep showcases all of what chimpo has to offer. A release that will stand out for being different and yet totally devastating on the dane floor. The vinyl release contains a huge remix of the title track, "Frontline", by Calibre that utilises Fox's vocal and flips the sound back to the days of jungle techno. Add also the deadly production unit of Dub Phizix and Skeptical on lead track "Buzzin" and you have a package that we at Soul:r are very proud of indeed.

One of Europe's key figures in the drum and bass music scene of the 2000s - Sunchase - returns with his long-awaited album on Kashtan, a newly launched label from Ukraine, on 1st of December 2020.

Sunchase had numerous singles on such cult labels like Moving Shadow, Metalheadz and Hospital Records and after 10 years he finally returns to the LP format. His second album 'Timeline', just like the concept of the label, blurs the boundaries between genres of electronic music, and cannot be assigned to any particular style. The melancholic and abstract sounds give off a sense of reclusiveness, with dubstep and drum and bass rhythms peeking and sometimes breaking through to the surface, yet more often they go deeper, creating room for bass music, dub and even a slight touch of IDM, thus creating a very special state. The album as a whole appears as a voluminous, complete, and aesthetically established piece of work.

The releases of Kashtan will be executed in a rather unusual format: it will be a limited series of collectible packs, including a USB stick with music and additional multimedia content, as well as other materials. These packs can later be collected into a catalog. Also, the LP will be released digitally on Kashtan's Bandcamp page and all other known online stores.

Although you had to wait a couple of years between IFSXXX002 & IFSXXX003, the next release in the series is dropping in rapid succession. Afterall, they say the best things comes in pairs and Infernal Sounds have enlisted the musical talent of Bukez Finezt for their 4th outing. Both tracks provide the German's trademark sound, bringing together a monsterous dubplate in 'Jupiter' and a remix of Sir Hiss' track 'Danny Uzi Vert' (IFSXXX001), which has been one of the most sought after dubs for the last few years. The A side 'Jupiter' kicks off proceedings with a brute-force, low end medley and a spacey soundscape, while the remix of D.U.V twists the original on it's head, invigorating the movement on the drop whilst keeping the melody as it's main lead, but in a energetic, twisted fashion.

As with the previous XXX series, the release is vinyl-only (never to be released digitally) and will not be repressed.
