Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

Limited Edition repress of Punch Drunk classic.

* Bristol music Godfather Rob Smith (Smith & Mighty) was a major force in the 1st wave Bristol Dubstep scene, not only as a huge musical influence on the likes of Pinch and Peverelist but also as a producer in his own right. This typically dubwise 12' is one of his best from that era, repressed for 2016.

Deep Heads are extremely proud to present the highly anticipated vinyl edition of Deep Heads Dubstep Vol.3!

The series has featured some of the best free-thinking Dubstep producers to emerge and contribute to the scene in the past decade, as well as showcasing a lot of music released through the Deep Heads imprint over the label's history.

The tracks selected for this incredible Vinyl edition are some simply made for wax. All mastered by Beau at Ten Eight Seven, the frequencies delivered are weighty, precise, and smooth on the ear. Put the needle to the grooves and hear this masterpiece come to life.

Kahn originally blazed his way in to the consciousness of the UK underground on Punch Drunk. This is his second heavyweight 12” for the label, originally released back in 2011 which fully asserted his position at the forefront of Bristol’s new generation of producers.

Super second venue on the new FOLKLORE records sublabel ! MUST HAVE

Perhaps needed now more than ever, Freestylers are stepping up to the plate with brand new sounds that destroy genre boundaries and offer a strobing light at the end of the tunnel.

‘Other Worlds’ delves into a mishmash of drum and bass, hip-hop,
electronica, dub, breakbeat and everything in between. It also showcases incredible talent from across the globe, including Plump DJs, Blapps Posse, Laura Steel, Scarlett Quinn, MC Spyda, Tenor Fly, Hyperactive MC, Mad Doctor X and K-OSS.

The album features the lockdown anthem ‘Happiness’. Initially created for big-room, festival-worthy summer touring, this early-rave inspired anthemic track will still have you dancing round your living room with it’s no nonsense breakbeat style.

TEMPLE OF MUNGK follows the narrative of a Monk who, after questioning his faith, embarks on an epic journey of rediscovery. With the basslines of his hugely well-received Kuji EP still shaking speakers and delighting fans alike, producer Mungk and Belgian imprint DUPLOC join forces once again.

This time the result comes in the form of the sprawling & utterly immersive Temple Of Mungk, which serves as the Leeds-based artist’s debut album and the second instalment of DUPLOC’s new DUPLOCROYALS album series.

Dreadwise Music is proud to present: Massive Dub Corporation, “Time Collapse” & “Vent Solaires” with 2 heavyweight remixes from Digid and Dubbing Sun. Taken from the second studio album (The Event Horizon) by French Dub sensation Massive Dub Corporation. Both feature tracks on this 12” breath new life into the realms of dub and jazz with MDC's unique blend of electronic squelch and soundscapes, coupled with a musicianship un-matched and un-paralled within the current Dub landscape.

We welcome another newcomer to the label, UK-badman Cartridge, who steps up with a smashing debut EP showing the world he’s not messing about. Big Things!

Stone Cold:
The aptly titled EP opener hits hard like a boulder, painting a post-apocalyptic super-metroidesque landscape, building upon the glorious ‘Flummox’ from SUBALT010. Gritty synth lines stating a simple yet catchy and evolving melody, all rounded by a fat bass exactly how we like it. A glittery rain paves the way to the breakdown and the second drop, which tells the final part of this majestic romance.

Choker:
Time to get stealthy with this one… a sinister intro erupts into a refined yet powerful barrage of bass. Solid groove, heavily panned percussion, clever wobs and synth hits, masterful reverb and delay interplays, Cartridge’s sound design really sets to impress with this superb number.

Sweet Doughs:
If the concept of ‘sinister’ was established on the previous track, ‘Sweet Doughs’ definitely takes it to the next level. Menacing car-tyre-screeching-like synths and an amusing yet slightly uncanny vocal sample set up the pace for this weighty dance-floor rattler. A saturated 808-like bass propels the track, which reveals itself as a master-class on how to blend power, bass, crafty sound design and an incredible attention to details.

Part one of two EP release on Transmat. New artist from Detroit!

From Norway via Berlin, O.M.Theorem debuts with an EP rooted in 160BPM sub-heavy atmospheric soundscapes, that explores connections between different tempos and time signatures. Side A presents two percussive driven polyrhytmic explorations while side B steps into slightly more familiar dubstep / UK Garage territory.

Feat. Boards Of Canada, Aphex Twin, Flying Lotus, Bibio, Oneohtrix Point Never, Mount Kimbie, u.v.a.

Super heavy keta-dub 12" by Namahage, DJ ScotchEgg's mysterious little side project on Zonedog. Hand stamped with glow in the dark ink! Strictly limited vinyls, no digital!

'Waku Waku Doom' on A is a true low end epic. Hazy vocal scraps are flying over vast fx landscapes and percussion loops, all moving in lava lamp speed - until the track properly twists into phase two...

The beatless 'Bathyscaphe' on side B goes on a deep sea dive, balancing awe and terror as the
submersible slowly descends deeper and deeper into the silent world of immense pressure.
Intense journey!

Presenting his first new music since 2018's 'Cloudy' on A14, we welcome Beneath to the roster with this expansive and unnerving new double EP 'On Tilt'.

His most substantial release to date, the six tracks build on his signature style of sound system workout imbued with the resonance of UK Funky, Hardcore and DMZ Dubstep. 'On Tilt' refers to a situation in poker where the player lets their luck dictate decision making, resulting in irrational strategies based purely on emotion. The panic can be felt throughout the EP with the towering 'Dark Waters' being a standout. On closer listen, dense layers of detail lurk beneath the surface making for an intense and thrilling trip.

Following the release of critically acclaimed Steppin' Forward LP in 2014, we're happy to announce Steppin' Forward Remixed. For this release we've asked producers featured on the original album to rework each other's tracks and in the end we received an outstanding result of a 14 track compilation filled with deadly bass heavy riddims.

With her second album SODA, Belia Winnewisser continues on the path she has been following for quite some time. Few share the Swiss artist’s knack for combining a sensibility to the enthusiastic potential of pop with an interest in niche references of experimental sound design. In recent years, her feel for this fusion brought Winnewisser to the attention of the electronic club music scene. This world and the various genres related to it leave their mark on SODA: sing-along anthems like “So Real” and the densely layered drone of “They Cry of the Sirens” stand alongside the feverish dance track that gives the album its name and rave bombs like “Solen.” A year without club nights allowed Winnewisser to fully embrace her flair for pop and experimentalism, which resulted in more than a mere series of nods to different genres and acts. SODA—both as a resonant title and as a collection of music—is a direct call without hidden meanings or implicit references. It’s simply the path she’s on and the way she’s going.

Dub-Stuy Records welcomes a new artist to its ranks, California's Dubamine. The young producer has been active since 2009, with a string of digital-only releases, and String Up The Sound marks his vinyl debut with four tracks that trace direct links between roots, reggae, hip-hop, and bass music. The EP features the vocal talents of Jamaica's Blackout JA, London's Brother Culture, a long-standing voice in the sound system community, and DC-based Carlton Livingston, a Jamaican legend best known for his work with the Greensleeves and Jah Life labels. String Up The Sound is a meeting of styles and generations.

The EP's three vocal tracks -- 'Nicodemus', 'String Up The Sound', and 'Good Morning Jamaica' -- offer sureshot summertime anthems with memorable hooks over production that blends the best of DMZ's eyes-down philosophy with vocal-driven contemporary dub reggae in the vein of Mungo's Hi Fi. The release is completed by the instrumental 'Murda Style', a subtle and powerful forward riddim inspired by dub techno and a minimalist aesthetic reminiscent of Rhythm & Sound. This debut by Dubamine combines bass weight, legendary voices, and sound system aesthetics to please multiple generations of bass-loving fans.
