The Green returns with their first full-length release since 2013's award-winning Hawai'i '13.
That record debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart and cracked the Top 100, as well,
before going on to win an unprecedented three Na Hoku Hanohano awards in the band's
native Hawaii. After years of touring to support that release, the band focused on making
their next record with some longtime musical partners, including producers Leslie Ludiazo (J
Boog, Hot Rain) and Christian Mochizuki (Graves). The band also solicited
Songwriter/Producer Brian Fennell (Ryan Tedder, One Republic, The Fray, Third Eye Blind) to
help explore some new elements in their sound. The new release has an amazing mix of
pop-influenced lovers rock along with the Green's patented island reggae. Guests include
Jamaican dancehall superstar Busy Signal, Grammy-nominees J Boog and Rebelution's Eric

Shamrock grew up in the township called 'Kwathema', In the east of Johannesburg. He has being crazy for music since he was a young child, and at primary school he sang as the soloist in the choir.

Everyone now knows that South Africa is the house music capitol of the world! Most young upcoming producers look up the American and European producers, But Shamrock's sound is standing out from the rest, as he's been digging into his African roots to come up with his own style of music, working with mainly South African musicians, only using the computer to record the audio.

On this album he's also featured international musicians Han Litz,Flutist from the Netherlands, Asali, vocalist from Kenya, Andy Compton, from the UK, and Jimmy Gabriel on Sax from Nigeria.

His first releases came out on a South African label in 2014.

He's well known in South Africa for his live guitar shows, normally jamming with DJ's. This is how he first met Andy Compton, and secured the Peng connection.

Shamrock was a main writing contributor for the fantastic 'Sowetan Onesteps' project, and after that success he knew the home for his album would be on Peng, which offers his sound to a worldwide audience

Geographically based in Hamburg, Germany - label owner and prolific producer JahYu aptly combines the roots heritage of Dub music with traditional Korean, oriental influences - forming the foundation of his signature sound with the message of outernational unity beyond national borders through the release's lyrics. Churning out bass-centered dance music for over half a decade, the talented artist has unceasingly refined his sonic qualities, a certainty, which is further proven to be true with TCR002 - a four-track heavyweight of his collaboration with venerated MC and vocalist Ras Tinny - dubbed 'Freedom of Movement'. Dub-Stuy welcomes up and coming producer Blind Prophet for a conscious dub release in collaboration with Russia's Tenor Youthman and Italy's Numa Crew.

Long Island, New York's Blind Prophet makes his debut on Dub-Stuy Records alongside the vocal talents of Tenor Youthman , one of the founders of Russia's Lion Posse sound system. ' Marijuana Burns Capitalism ' is a deep and meditative social statement sure to move the dance and stimulate the heads.

On 'Marijuana Burns Capitalism', Blind Prophet lays down a solid riddim, with a deep driving bassline and a bubbly harpsichord skank, for Tenor Youthman to sing about the liberating properties of hemp in fighting the evils of mass production and capitalism. The result is a simple and effective cut backed by a sparse dub that lets the drums and bass roll out to full effect.

The flip side sees Florence's Numa Crew deliver their own fire for the dance with another straight to the chest dub version that focuses on the bassline and Tenor's unique vocal style.

Homeys Records new release,'Something new', features the first collaboration between Marina P and the upcoming french producer KSD. Once the original track was completed, the vocals were given to three other producers close to the italian singer for remixing. Stand High Patrol's version offers a jazzy take on the track with unexpected footwork influences. TWM, for his very first release, presents a steppers version made for the soundsystem. Homeys brings a roots reggae touch with a flute part that leads the theme.

Jules Elipse (Elipse Music) is known for his eclectic output - here he tackles the jungle genre with characteristic aplomb! Featuring three ragga-infused cuts of authentic 94/95 style jungle at or around the 160bpm mark, with hyper-syncopated drums, ragga chants and a devilishly dark mood prevailing over the tracks - 7th Storey Projects presents The Dogheart EP.

'As the son and nephew of pioneering UK nu roots dub duo Alpha & Omega — bassist Christine Woodbridge and keyboard player John Sprosen — Ben Alpha Steppa grew up surrounded by sound system and dubplate culture, starting in his mother's womb at Channel One and Jah Shaka shows. In his music the competing influences of nature and nurture cannot be separated. He has grown to become one of the most prolific and inventive dub producers around, absorbing worldwide inputs into his productions without dilution of their constituent parts, most notably with his recent Trigram series. To gain some grasp of the genesis of this new project, that may seem surprising at first, let's address what both artists have in common, rather that what differentiates them. Internationally recognized masters in the styles, respectively reggae & dub, that they are developing in parallel for almost 20 years, without never really meeting each other, the two protagonists strive to challenge their codes in an ever greater respect to their Jamaican roots: two decades furthering a relentless fight against musical orthodoxy, to the benefit of interbreedings that have always been major contributions to music — and arts in general — History. This is evidenced by jazz and Jamaican traditional music fusion in the case of Harrison Stafford, and notably with his amazing adventure with Groundation, as well as by Martin Nathan countless experimentations, over Brain Damage prolific discography, always digging in more unlikely and audacious directions.

From this unexpected collaboration will stem « Liberation Time » album, an LP that will delight many fans of the two artists' works, all what builds their respective uniqueness being there so well intricated. A former student of Jamaica's famed Alpha Boys' school, Rico Rodriguez served his musical apprenticeship playing trombone in some of the island's most celebrated orchestras and bands. A spell at Count Ossie's camp in Wareika Hills introduced him to the Rasta faith and a new approach to music, which he later introduced to his studio work.

In 1961, he emigrated to London, where he became a regular on growing the UK West Indian music scene, cutting numerous sides for every Jamaican music maker of note, including Trojan's in-house producer, Robert Thompson aka Dandy.

Dandy duly paired the trombonist with Britain leading reggae group, The Rudies, with the collaboration spawning an array of singles and the immensely popular album, Blow Your Horn, released by Trojan late in 1969.

Unavailable in any format for over 20 years, this highly sought-after boss reggae album is finally available once more, with the discovery of the long lost of the original Trojan master tapes ensuring it sounds better than ever!

The Jamaican Sonia Pottinger was once called The most important Jamaican woman involved in music business'. Dancing Down Orange Street is a collection of some of her famous productions for different artists. The album captures the moment when Rocksteady transformed into Reggae by speeding up a little and moving towards a more jerky and less smooth musical palette. Famous singers as Delano Stewart and Ken Boothe are present on the album with multiple tracks. The vocal trio The Melodians (known for their hit Rivers of Babylon) provide a couple of beutifull songs. Even after all those years (released for the first time in 1969) the compilation remains a treasure of showcasing some of the finest songs produced by Sonia.

Sonia Pottinger was married to music producer Lyndon Pottinger and started to record musicians in 1996. During the late 60's she produced songs for Joe White, The Melodians and Toots & the Maytals.

He has released tracks and albums on numerous labels such as Duke Reid, Trojan plus his own Coptic Lion imprint to name a few. ABOUT i&i MUSIK i&i Musik is a small independent record label based in London and setup by producer Archiver. The label is centred around Archiver's own productions and collaborations, but will also showcase other artists and producers. Not wanting to be pigeon holed, the label will mix styles and genres where dub techniques and bass feature prominently.

Shinsekai New World, refers to the periphery of severe poverty and destitution in Osaka, Japan. Called Nishinari-ku it is home to many beautiful people.

Nubiyan Twist exploded onto the global stage with their 2015 debut album Nubiyan Twist', drawing on elements of jazz, afrobeat, hiphop, soul and dub to create their own trademark style, driven by powerful, arrangements, a driving rhythm section and the laidback, soulful delivery of female vocalist Nubiya Brandon. When it comes to old-school roots reggae, few groups were as influential as The Maytals. Adding Frederick Toots' Hibbert's name to the front of their billing later in the 1970s, in the earliest days they were more egalitarian as they built their sound and legend. From The Roots, originally released on Trojan Records in 1970 (alongside another full-length that same year, Monkey Man), was a transitional record for the group. Leaving behind their early ska days - much like The Wailers and other peers - they had yet to settle into the slower tempos that blew in like ganja smoke by the mid-'70s. As a result, music here generally gallops, and vocals fall in line. As heard on gems like Koo Koo,' Got To Feel,' and Pee Pee Cluck Cluck,' the Maytals' lyrics tend mostly towards love and the pursuit thereof. The group, throughout its career, was also deeply spiritual and much of this was expressed through song - a great case in point here is Thy Kingdom Come,' essentially a church hymn set to reggae music. And the album concludes with an interesting cover of the Lennon/McCartney hippie chestnut, Give Peace A Chance,' which is much faster than the original and quite groovy overall. The Maytals are generally overlooked in the pantheon of reggae giants, but this is unjust. Do your part in recognizing their legendary status by digging into this filling meal of classic Jamaican fare.

Biga * Ranx, the young prodigy of the Dancehall scene, delivers the last volume of the serie of three maxis entitled "THE WORLD OF BIGA * RANX". It is with the famous producer KANKA that he chose to collaborate with on this Volume 3. The two companions are not in their first test since they had already worked together on the massive tune "Make It This Time". Welcome to the wonderful world of "DUB STEPPA"!

Following up the release of his first album "On Time" (2011), the serie of 3 maxis entitled "THE WORLD OF BIGA*RANX" started in 2012. Each maxi reveals 4 tracks composed in collaboration with one beat maker. To launch this series Biga*Ranx decided to present his friends, the Danish producers Maffi, already present on the album "On Time" on two titles. The crew Maffi is considered one of the best producers of digital reggae currently. He collaborates with Jahtari and Pupa Jim. As he says on the first track, "Dancehall is my life and singing is my vocation ..." he certainly sings his autobiography, but not only. With a sharp pen, Biga*Ranx castigates a world of indifference on the title of the same name but always keeping this faith which gives rise to a perpetual hope. On the B side of the vinyl two other compositions much lighter in a "Party Time" atmosphere with the titles "True Romance" and "Do not Go". An unstoppable and melodic flow on an effective beat blended with Blues guitars. In the end a dynamic and modern reggae served by the amazing voice of Biga*Ranx both suave and devastating! An artist who has not finished to surprise you...

Young Dancehall MC Biga*Ranx delivers the second volume of the serie of maxis entitled "THE WORLD OF BIGA*RANX". After meeting the digital reggae of the Danish producers Maffi, Biga * Ranx returns in force in collaboration with Ondubground. From the city of Tours (France), just like Biga, this trio imposes itself as the dubstep revelation of the French scene. The crew ODG led by their charismatic leader Olo, has already participated in productions of the first album of Biga * Ranx "On Time" on the tracks Gipsy Rock or Brigante Life. Long-time friends, they shared the stage several times and worked regularly in the studio together. This maxi begins hard with the title "Set Me Free", a name more than evocative. Biga * likes to play codes and oscillates between the genres he likes without ever cataloging. It once again demonstrates its incredible flow on the track "Depense On My Ting". Two reggae classics revisited with Ondubground sauce with the titles "Mawdness" and "I Shoot the Dubstep", to conclude this foray into the wonderful world of stepper!
