Anticon founder and instrumental rap innovator Alias is reborn with Fever Dream, his sixth full-length for the label. Alias' acclaimed 2008 LP Resurgam represented a culmination of the sound he'd been chasing the previous five years -- a bewitchingly blue combination of icy atmosphere, haunted melodies and hard drums. He cleansed his palate with 2010's Fallen House, Sunken City, the modern boom-bap masterpiece he produced for emcee B. Dolan, and when it came time to return to the Alias oeuvre, he was ready for a reboot.

PLUGS are a London-based three-piece made-up of front-man/guitarist Morgan Quaintance (ex-Does It Offend You, Yeah ~), bass player David Chin and Boomer Opperman on drums. PLUGS music ranges from funky, sometimes bleepy, techno with seriously soulful vocals to melody driven Afro rhythms knitted together by tight electro bass lines and soaring guitar parts. As well as producing their own material they've also remixed We Have Band, Clor, The Noisettes, The Boxer Rebellion, Post War Years, 586, Erik Hassle, Alex Roots, and others... "PLUGS never made us feel more like busting a move to synths in a Justice-meets-Metronomy kind of way." NME... also including a PONI HOAX remix

Hinterland, the critically acclaimed follow up to Aim’s classic, genre defining debut Cold Water Music, proves that the notoriously difficult ‘second album’ can not only equal its predecessor but surpass it. Featuring intricate instrumentals and inspired guest spots from the likes of Diamond D, Souls of Mischief and Stephen Jones, Hinterland is an understated masterpiece that seamlessly combines crisp hip-hop beats and up-tempo grooves with Aim’s bucolic aesthetic and ever-present sense of blissful melancholy.

Over twenty years on from its original 2002 release, ATIC Records presents the definitive Hinterland vinyl reissue. Fully remastered from the original DAT master tapes with all-new artwork, the 2 x 12” double album is presented on 140g classic black vinyl in matt black polylined inner sleeves and a shrinkwrapped, gloss laminated, heavy card outer sleeve.

We are pleased to announce the upcoming reissue of the critically acclaimed fifth album by the iconic French duo AIR, titled Pocket Symphony.

Originally released in 2007 and produced by long-time collaborator Nigel Godrich, this album represents a refined and introspective milestone in Air's career.

The record masterfully blends delicate electronics with traditional Japanese instrumentation, creating a soundscape that is both intimate and cinematic.

At the vanguard of Greek electronic music, Anatolian Weapons, an alias of Aggelos Baltas, has garnered praise from the likes of Lena Willikens and RA. This is a deliberately dancefloor oriented release, with a host of long acid laced tracks, and some surprises. The titles offer a subtle nod to a recently passed DJ and polymath, and the remixes give a fresh feel to Aggelos’ tracks, with Serbian selector AASKA and Coma World on duty. The remixes give a fresh feel to Aggelos’ tracks, with AASKA breathing downtempo energy into ‘Only Harmony Seeds’, and Byrd Out associates Coma World (Betamax and Pete Bennie) imbuing ‘Other Paths’ with a dreamlike spirit driven by Betamax’s treacle-like drumming.

Memphis Industries reissue ‘Nothing Changes Under The Sun’ by the artist Blue States to mark its 20th year anniversary. It will be only the second vinyl pressing of the album since 2001.

Do you know that feeling when you first hear music and you realise that you may have stumbled across something that will become a part of your life forever? Music that gradually unlocks those treasured endorphins and lets them loose to run throughout your very being. Blue States’ ‘Nothing Changes Under The Sun’ is one of those records, sounding as timeless and out of time today as it did on its first release twenty years ago.

‘Nothing Changes Under The Sun’ was created by Andy Dragazis, working in his bedroom, locked away with a rudimental little set up - a sampler, a sequencer and a few keyboards. Andy confesses that he was far from certain what he was working on but, encouraged by fledgling label Memphis Industries, he released a series of 12” EPs in 1998-99, each to increasing acclaim.

Complete artistic freedom can lead to self-indulgence and musical cul-de-sacs but, by the time ‘Nothing Changes Under The Sun’ was released in September 2000, the results of Andy’s experimentation had been honed, refined into something very special indeed. A record that held its secrets close, ‘Nothing Changes Under The Sun’ set Blue States apart from the downtempo contemporaries that were flourishing at the time, full of sweeping melancholia and glorious retro-futurism.

Praise for ‘Nothing Changes Under The Sun’:

“If the art of pop is to stay ahead of the game, Blue States should be leading the field” - The Guardian

“Blue States have a scale and grandeur seldom heard in modern music” - The Observer

Drug Store Romeos formed at college in nearby Farnborough when childhood friends Jonny (Gilbert) and Charlie (Henderson) pinned an ad about finding a bassist for their new band to the school’s notice board – Sarah (Downie) replied and quickly proved herself a better vocalist than either of them. The trio spent the subsequent 24 hours discussing their love of Stereolab over messenger and watching Portishead and Mild High Club videos in the college’s computer lab. The band soon cut their teeth playing live at college, at Guildford Boiler Room and Aldershot West End Centre, rather than the familiarly trodden paths in London although they did frequent Brixton Windmill as often as three times a week at one point; carrying all of their equipment back to Fleet by train as none of the band were old enough to drive. The 3am walk home from Fleet station, with amps and flight cases slung over their shoulder, would become a rite of passage; the quiet countryside influencing their hushed atmospheric sound and nocturnal aesthetics as much as their shared affection for Suburban Lawns, Broadcast, and Tom Tom Club. Lyrical abstractness / concrete meaning. Danceability / lyingdownability. Minimalism / fullness. Introspective melancholy / playfulness. Lo fi / hi fi. Drug Store Romeos play with the senses and flip the expectations, finding the sweet spot every time.
