With its 10th edition, Dalmata Daniel's split series brings together two artists who have both left their mark on the label's compilations, now presenting their first full releases on the imprint. Anatolian Weapons and The Spy approach electronic music from different angles, one rooted in hypnotic techno rituals, the other in raw electro and post-punk energy. Both craft sounds that thrive in the shadows of the dancefloor.

On the A-side, Anatolian Weapons delivers three cold, hypnotic cuts. "Trapped" opens with heavy EBM percussion and a buzzkill bassline, setting a tense, mechanical tone. "Further Spiralling Down" sinks deeper into darkness with a grinding low end, tight drums, and electro-tinged claps, forming the side's relentless highlight. "Apathy Through Shock" closes with pounding, catatonic rhythms and a mournful, otherworldly melody, pushing the listener into disorienting depths.

Flipping over, The Spy's raw, electro-driven energy takes hold. "Same Blur" channels sharp electro beats with a punkish sneer and cosmic synth lines. "Falling", featuring The Spy's own vocals, leans into melancholic new wave, pairing bouncy rhythms with bittersweet melodies. The closing "Pretending" drifts into the darkest corners, offering low-slung, haunted electro layered with distant, spectral harmonies.

Der kanadische Remixer und DJ Tiga ist seit über zwei Jahrzehnten ein fester Bestandteil der internationalen EDM-Szene. Shifted follows on from Spatial Fix; Conna’s first solo 12” in March ’25 that released on Theory Therapy. Where that EP was a dense and rich web of texture and atmosphere across the two long sides, this one focuses in on forms of propulsion and a patient, silvery endlessness.

A side track "Redirect" was cut from a longer Sunday night session with XENIA REAPER. Two laptops Ableton linked, chilling in the flat in Glasgow. The amazing synth line is all XENIA, everything else is Conna; looping the synth & bass for about an hour and bringing other elements in and out. The final tune is gorgeous, floating in the blissful ether before the sub and pulse kicks through. Eleven and a half minutes of enveloping pressure, refreshment and delight.

"Detach" and "Duration" both turn to a rediscovered love for 4x4 techno and an experiment in a more classic and subtle sound from the perspective of a producer who might be expected to take bigger emotive and experimental swings that follow the patterns of contemporary ambient and bass. The result is beautiful and delicate vectors of music, satisfyingly easy to slide into a set. Swung techno filled with detail and poise. Tunes that can scale and transform and sit in a sort of home listening club track zone. After hours nrg.

Body Clinic tapes up for the fi rst Solo EP on the main SUCKERPUNCH series, plus a remix from label favourite & Panorama Bar regular Baby Rollén. Random Factor's 'On The Air' EP is a hugely sought-after classic by those who know. It came on Ralph Lawson's ever-reliable 20/20 Vision and now, as it turns 25 years old, he has decided it is the right time to get it remastered and reissued. 'On The Air' is first up on this fine EP from Carl Finlow and it has serene synths that bring to mind Detroit techno soul over pulsing bass and slick drums. 'Lockdown' has a raw vocoder vocal over punchy drums and twitchy synth stabs and 'Undercurrent' is another weapon that has more than withstood the test of time as it bumps along on funky drums and is overlaid with more playful synth patterns. 'Disconnect' is a crunchy and 8-bit closer with pixelated synths and screwy acid lines. Superb.

Gottwood Festival's imprint Gottwax returns for its eighth installment. At the controls of this release is the London-based duo 'Make A Dance,' whose playful, party-driven sound has been making waves in the underground since their inception. Delivering a lively four-track EP, which includes two originals and two reworks, all of which are club-ready and certainly have 'The dance in mind.' This is going to make it into a lot of DJs' bags this summer and is not one to be missed."
