Panthers on Wax kicks off its catalogue with Night Prologue, a VA that dives head-first into the night from the dark pulse of the club to its most intimate afterglow.
Bringing together four defining voices of the contemporary French underground, the release unfolds like a nocturnal tale in two acts.

Side A hits with two floor-focused weapons:
P.O ignites LA VOITURE DE LA POLICE, a raw mechanical surge « It doesn't matter who did it as long as it burns. »
N2O pushes deeper with DISTO PIA, where distortion fractures, breathes, and rebuilds « Darkness dances, the heart cracks, and the night puts its pieces back together. »

The Horrorist, legend amongst lengends, brings us a hypnotic and trippy story very of his style.

Millimetric, one of the highest French Electro's representatives, delights us with a booming dance floor focused track.

VCO a.k.a Artik, Tresor's resident, debuts in the label with his first production.

Exterminador has recently published an EP in Marcel Dettman's new label (Bad Manners) and he has created another dancefloor designed bomb for our reference.

Orlok 101, a regular in BARRO, joins us once again with a track filled with touches of Electro, EBM and the Sound of Valencia.

Least but not last, Nöle, boss of the label, closes the compilation with a hard and speeding electro-techno-rave track.

The previous references have been supported by artists such as Phase Fatale, The Hacker , Lokier, NX1, Unhuman, Alienata, Reka, Years of Denial and more!

Walter Thomas’s “Chicago Knights” LP features a retrospective of songs written and released between 1987 and 2009, primarily with the Roland 1824 and the Fostex 8 track reel to reel. Channeling the spirit of underground soul and dance music specifically rooted within the greater area of Chicago, Illinois–a city known for its deep and healthy soul and r&b roots–this compilation features 8 of its 9 tracks on vinyl for the very first time.

The intro track “I Wanna Get Witcha” dates back to 1987, holds a proven track record of kicking off many a dance floor, rocking clubs worldwide in a blur of boogie-funk, disco, and soul. “Immaturity” and both versions of “Fed Up” echo the emotional differences and tensions between lovers in a spat. “Magic City” served as the anthem and homage to its namesake roller skating rink in 90s-era Waukegan, IL. While “Chicago Knights” is a relentless mid-tempo groove inspired by the aggressive motorists that dominate Chicago roadways, “2nd Chance” drops the tempo to a slow r&b roll, preaching the ethos of love, peace, and forgiveness.

Last but certainly not least, “E&J’s” was a real commercial jingle used for a once legendary BBQ joint “E&J’s” in Illinois: a short bonus track to close out the LP. These 9 tracks are just a touch of Walter’s expansive body of work, and we’re stoked to bring them to you on wax.


Walter Thomas is a singer, songwriter, producer, arranger, and composer from North Chicago, IL known for his soulfully smooth arrangements and vocals. Walter has toured internationally with quintessential soul groups like the Temptations and Friends of Distinction, as well as opening for performers including the Floaters, Bette Wright, The Emotions, and The Drifters. His decades of touring with nightclub and concert performances have honed this gifted artist into a seasoned and refined live act.

Limited 12" sampler for the forthcoming Curses compilation: As much musical memoir as compilation of often impossible-to-find tracks, 'Next Wave Acid Punx TROIS' has joined the dots between industrial, post punk and EBM from the 70s and 80s with the emerging rave scene of the 90s and proven that this spirit is still alive by unearthing some of the best unreleased dark disco, techno and electro produced today. Mr. K’s latest is a sureshot double-sider with two much-loved classics given the exclusive treatment from the edit master.

The Shades Of Love, a powerhouse female vocal trio led by the sensational Meli’sa Morgan, dropped an absolute boogie bombshell in 1982 on their first collaboration with superproducer Patrick Adams. ‘Body To Body’ has an easy midtempo swing that’s perfect for a dancefloor (or roller rink!) with a chunky bass line and crisp claps pushing things along, giving Morgan’s sultry vocals the perfect springboard. Previously only available as a 7-inch on obscure Dutch and Brazilian pressings… but that was a remix version, this custom edit by Mr. K is from the version Larry Levan made famous at the Paradise Garage, a welcome addition to any dance 45s crate.

Taking things back to the early days of disco music, Crown Heights Affair provide a shimmering slice of uplifting magic on ‘Dreaming a Dream’. Originally an instrumental break of a vocal song, this wordless take became a hit in its own right when it was released as a single in 1975. That famed version, however, sadly ends far too early.
