The floor stompin’ Down By The River 'O' was written by longtime Levellers collaborator, Rev Hammer and tells the story of the Great Flood of 1968 in his hometown of Buntingford. B side is a reworking of Battle Of The Beanfield. Both are produced by Sean Lakeman and mixed by Al Scott, Down By The River ‘O’ and taken from the forthcoming album 'Together All The Way'.

Through ‘La Croix des Cros’, the French Musician delivers a loner-folk eclogue about the fantasized inner demons of a country dweller. Just like clay, audio recordings here are a malleable substance, slowly reworked over a year, following a sinuous production process where all mishaps are welcomed as breaches to step into.

Far from the spaghetti western myth of the reckless bounty hunter, riding his faithful horse in the great outdoors to spill blood; this 14-track album is the grieving lament of a wistful cowboy, longing for a simple patch of peace where one’s free to cultivate the earth and noodle on the guitar.

Die renommierte Singer-/ Songwriterin Katie Melua die Details zu ihrem kommenden neunten Studioalbum „Love & Money“ bekanntgegeben - ein atemberaubendes und höchst persönliches, insgesamt zehn Tracks umfassendes Werk, das einen tiefen Einblick gewährt, was innerhalb der letzten zwei Jahre in Katies Leben geschehen ist. Mit 56 Platinauszeichnungen in ihrer nunmehr zwei Dekaden andauernden Karriere ist Katie Melua zu einer der meistverkauften Künstlerinnen Großbritanniens avanciert, nachdem sie mit ihrem Debütalbum „Call Off The Search“ die Charts stürmte und anschließend nicht weniger als acht aufeinanderfolgende Top-10-Alben in Großbritannien veröffentlichte - zuletzt geschehen im Jahr 2020 mit dem „Album No. 8“.
Die Neuigkeit über die Veröffentlichung von „Love & Money“ am 24. März 2023 via BMG folgt auf die erst kürzlich erfolgte Bekanntgabe von Katies bevorstehender UK- und Europa-Tournee im April und Mai diesen Jahres, die mit einer Show in der legendären Royal Albert Hall in London am 16. Mai ein absolutes Highlight beinhaltet.
Produziert von Leo Abrahams (Ghostpoet, Brian Eno, Regina Spektor), wurde „Love & Money“ im Sommer 2022 in Peter Gabriels Real World Studios aufgenommen, während Katie mit ihrem mittlerweile neugeborenen Sohn schwanger war. Das Album ist eine exquisite Sammlung von Songs, die wesentlich von Dankbarkeit und einer Positivität geprägt sind, die sich mit einer neuen Liebe einstellt. Darüber hinaus geht es auch um Selbstakzeptanz angesichts von einschneidenden Veränderungen und wohl auch um den Versuch ist, „die Überzeugung loszulassen, dass Glück weniger schwer ist als das Gegenteil".
Katie Melua stammt ursprünglich aus Tiflis, Georgien, und hat es in jeder Hinsicht weit gebracht. Durch moderne Klassiker wie „The Closest Thing To Crazy" und „Nine Million Bicycles" unsterblich geworden, war ihr letzter Longplayer - das 2020 erschienene „Album No. 8“ - der bisher von der Kritik am meisten gelobte. Es zeigte eindrucksvoll, wie sie als Lyrikerin gereift ist, in dem sie sich sanft gegen den romantischen Idealismus in herkömmlichen Popsongs auflehnte und stattdessen nach etwas suchte, das sich näher an ihrer eigenen Erfahrung anfühlte. Doch ganz gleich, wann es das letzte Mal war, dass man mit ihr in Berührung gekommen ist, es gibt vermutlich keinen besseren Zeitpunkt, die Entwicklung von Katie Melua als Singer- / Songwriterin genauer unter die Lupe zu nehmen als jetzt mit der Veröffentlichung ihres neues, mittlerweile neunten Album „Love & Money“. Das Album wird sowohl digital als auch auf Vinyl und als Standard- oder auch Deluxe-CD erhältlich sein. Die Deluxe-CD enthält vier Bonustracks, darunter ein atemberaubendes Duett mit dem deutschen Künstler Philipp Poisel.

One of Alan Vega’s greatest talents was his ability to bring the past and the future together • into a suspended place of timelessness. His groundbreaking duo Suicide was often seen as future primitivism and most of his musical output has exemplified this blending of the primordial human condition and visionary thinking. With Invasion b/w Murder One, the next release from the now infamous Vega Vault following 2021’s Mutator, we see this innate power in full effect.

The two tracks “Invasion” and “Murder One” were recorded two decades apart from one another in New York City. “Invasion” was recorded toward the end of the 2012-2015 studio sessions for the posthumous album IT and was one of his last recordings, while “Murder One” was recorded in 1997-1998, (after the Mutator sessions) and is part of a cluster of material that was recorded but never mixed prior to the sessions for his album 2007, released in 1999. Pairing these two songs together as a release illustrates the timelessness of the 30 plus years of unreleased material that he deemed the Vega Vault.

This release continues the collaboration of Mutator’s mixing and producing team, Liz Lamere and Jared Artaud. Liz provides a bridge to the past, having performed throughout the recording process of “Murder One” and “Invasion” while Jared opens a bridge to the future having been chosen by Alan himself to carry the torch and ensure the vision stays intact. Alan trusted no one more than Liz and Jared, and gave his blessing and encouragement to continue releasing material from the Vault. As Alan stated in the song “Vision” from IT, “If you destroy the vision, you will suffer the whirlwind.”

'Water Temple' is the debut album of the Berlin-based group Property. Comprised of Marijn Degenaar (NL) and Vivant de Non (AUS), the group use the theme of hydromancy to straddle the poetics of reverb from a post-punk perspective. The album wanders through dense end-of-world sensations without keeping away from piercing melodic instrumentation. As hazy as 'Water Temple' can get, Property just as easily trade the murky side of their post-punk sound for analogue synthesisers that feel almost celestial. Used to striking effect on 'Water Temple', the chorus-heavy bassline is interwoven with a strident melody that punctures the rhythm and accents the Neue Deutsche Welle energy that the pair play on at certain moments. Similarly, the vocals on 'Water Tempel' flirt with our cracked times from another angle, rendering a remarkable first transmission from this new duo. Foggy synthesisers fill the cavities of every track, though the driving leads ensure the ambience never overtakes the song-structures across the album. This tendency is best captured on the downer-anthem Blood Cube with its sharp drum machine rhythm, just as Clear Boys reprises this rowdy pop edge for a forceful album closer.
