Pop & Rock Vinyl New Releases - News

Strap yourself in and get ready for Snakes Don't Belong In Alaska. Somewhere between The Cosmic Dead flying and The Myrrors High Evolutionary Transcendance - Snakes Don't belong In Alaska have it in fucking spades my friends and as an introduction to them we have packed 2 of their releases pressed onto vinyl and packed as a double LP - Mountain Rituals and Ancient Alien Temple Ritual.
MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE TO COME IN 2019.

Newcastle collective Snakes Don't Belong In Alaska have been slowly but steadily making a name for themselves on the UK psych circuit, hosting numerous international touring acts and putting out some radical self-released (and highly limited) recordings under their own Infinity Mirror imprint. This however is the band's first widely available release - an absolutely monumental tome of heavy, droning kosmische freakout that blows away all preconceived ideas of what this group is capable of. Drawing on an aural temple map leading straight from Ash Ra to Acid Mothers, "Mountain Rituals" climbs from a deep earth drone into the sort of mind-warping guitar bliss that will leave you scrambling for the repeat button over and over again.

[C} A3. The Weight Of Love

There are few metal artists that need no introduction, but Sweden's SOILWORK are definitely one of them. Their reputation as one of the country's finest exports (aside from herrings, Abba and porn) is well-deserved. Few bands have melded the aggressiveness of metal with genuinely catchy choruses to such impressive results. Before you start
name-dropping the latest metalcore sensation, let's just get one thing straight, SOILWORK - which is not a reference to cultivation, but to working their way up from the ground - have established a solid reputation alongside fellow countrymen like In Flames, Meshuggah & Arch Enemy as well as influencing bands such as US heavyweights Killswitch Engage. Surfacing in 1997 with a five-track demo,'In Dreams We Fall Into The Eternal Lake', SOILWORK formed as a quartet before expanding for their first full-length release. 'Steelbath Suicide', the band's official debut, saw the light of day in 1998 and immediately caused a major positive stir in the metal underground. Their mix of modern, melodic and progressive metal has created a distinctive sound spearheaded by the soaring vocals of Bjorn 'Speed' Strid. Albums like 2002's 'Natural Born Chaos' (produced by Devin Townsend),the supreme double release 'The Living Infinite' and the most recent 'The Ride Majestic' (their 10th studio release) have effectively built a dedicated fanbase with every successive release. "The Ride Majestic" was SOILWORK's last album to feature longtime drummer Dirk Verbeuren, who left the band in July 2016 to join MEGADETH and was replaced by Bastian Thusgaard of THE ARCANE ORDER, while touring bassist is now Taylor Nordberg (THE ABSENCE).
Their new album 'Verkligheten' ('reality') maintains the quality control, being produced by Thomas - Plec' Johansson and featuring a guest appearances from Tomi Joutsen (Amorphis) on 'Needles And Kin' .SOILWORK singer Björn "Speed" Strid, assures that it still breaks new ground for the band though. "It's possibly the most epic and darkest album we've done. And it's also very melancholic, but it's also very sort of uplifting. I'm really happy with it."Asked if the musical direction of the new SOILWORK material is similar to that on the last album, Strid said: "I would say a mixture between 'The Ride Majestic' and [2013's] 'The Living Infinite'."From the brutal 'Arrival', via the mammoth grooves of 'Bleeder Despoiler' to the majestically melodic 'Stålfågel','Verkligheten' is another worthy addition to the Soilwork catalogue.

Cardinal Fuzz are excited to bring to you at last the long awaited Sunflare LP - 'ON'. After three previous releases of brain frying high volume pedal to the metal freak-outs Sunflare are at last back to bring some serious brain buzzing primitive punk scorch to a prevailing M.O.R. psych scene in need of some serious face melting. Hailing from Lisboa, Portugal - Sunflare are a scorchin' power trio specialising in High Energy Psychedelic Speed Freak wipe outs. ON is here to fry minds and with a driving rhythm section that brings new meaning to the word relentless and a guitar player that is perpetually free form feedback soloing over every second committed to wax via the gnarliest of fuzz and wah-wah pedal abuse. Over two sides of vinyl there is never any let up as Sunflare deliver a blazing eruption of ear piercing sound. With ON also comes a second LP of the long out of print 'C-30 Red Tape' release (only ever available as a Cassette back in 2010). As soon as you put this on you will see WHY we were so desperate to include this as part of the ON package and commit it to vinyl at long last. If you like High Rise, Comets On Fire and drinking petrol then this is the band and record for you.
ON is presented in a 320gsm Wide Spine Card Sleeve and comes with a download code. 130 for Europe

Disguised as the meandering outpourings of vacant
thought and activity dialed simultaneously from zero and
ten. Formed in the cauldron of a fevered mistake resolute.
Surrounded by ignorance, dis-interest, and the attention of
the carefully self-selected. Recorded and burned through a
thousand galaxies of dust and doubt and endless infinite
wonder, transforming both time and space. Forever exiled
to the very bottom of the world to reflect on the struggling
desperate pile above. Recognizing any contribution
as miniscule and insignificant when placed within the
greatness of the other, the dominant insolent preening
satisfied, continually shouting the pre-eminence of the first
world order.

At the
Disco) und Sam Hollander (Fitz and the Tantrums, Neon Trees): das Resultat wie ein
Glamrock-Update anno 2018.

"Live At Third Man Records"
Hitsammlung verstehen.

The Broughtons' fifth album has never been as well-regarded as its predecessors - by 1973, after all, the Broughtons' brand of post-hippie revolution was feeling just a little tired, particularly in the face of the glam scene that had emerged all around, and no matter how strong the song writing and performances remained, there was still a sense of too little, too late. Which was colossally unfair. Indeed, the sheer diversity of Oora flies defiantly in the face of anybody hoping to pigeonhole the band with its past reputation, as Oora reveals a tight, concise, and extraordinarily melodic band whose members had clearly been listening to Neil Young as much as the Mothers of Invention, and weren't afraid to prove it.

LP beinhaltet u.a.

2018 Remastered audiophile edition of the classic Sun album on heavyweight vinyl the first 1,000 LPs on Limited Magenta vinyl The comprehensive remastering and repackaging upgrade of the Man In Black's

legendary Sun catalogue continues with the release of Johnny Cash's seventh and final album for Sun Records. Long after Cash's acrimonious departure for Columbia Records in 1958, Sun's release of 'Original Sun Sound of Johnny Cash'

proved that they still had a catalogue of high-quality unreleased Cash material, with four new songs: 'New Mexico', 'Goodnight Irene', 'Always Alone' and 'Two Timin' Woman'. In fact, Sun had released the leanest, most accomplished

album in the Cash canon. The record also featured Cash's perhaps careerdefining single 'Big River', which reached No. 4 in the country charts in 1958 and shows off his instinctive poetic ability.

Complete with sleeve notes by noted Sun Records authority Adam Komorowski and president of Sun Entertainment Corporation John Singleton, this LP has been remastered from the original Sun master tapes by Nick Robbins at

Soundmastering Studios and cut to lacquers at half-speed for unrivalled sound quality by Barry Grint at Alchemy Mastering in London. The Johnny Cash reissue series has been personally overseen by Singleton in

Nashville and Charly Records founder Jean-Luc Young, continuing the long relationship between the companies begun by Shelby Singleton and Young over 40 years ago.

'We applaud and congratulate Charly Records for ensuring Johnny Cash's legendary Sun catalogue continues to be available on the quality formats his music deserves, especially on newly remastered vinyl for the seven LPs that

were originally released by Sun Records in the late fifties and early sixties.' - John Singleton (Sun Entertainment Corporation)

'Charly Records have outdone themselves with this current Cash refresh. From first reveal of the meticulously reproduced physical product to that needle-onwax moment, it's clear that the team behind the magic here know their onions.

It's a series that's destined to enthrall any recent arrivals to Cash's oaky tones and add extra sonic dimensions for the diehards, while giving audiophiles a timely fix.' - Long Live Vinyl

ausgezeichnet, darunter zweimal SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR (2009 und 2012).
Die Platte enthält die Lieblingssongs der Fans - The Girl', - Lover Come Back', - Coming Come' aber

The Messthetics are an instrumental trio featuring Brendan Canty (drums), Joe Lally (bass), and Anthony Pirog (guitar). Brendan Canty and Joe Lally were the rhythm section of the band Fugazi from its inception in 1987 to its period of hiatus in 2002.

This is the first band they've had together since then. Anthony Pirog is a jazz and experimental guitarist based in Washington, D.C. One half of the duo Janel & Anthony, he has emerged as a primary figure in the city's out-music community.

The trio's debut includes nine songs recorded at Canty's practice space throughout 2017, live and mostly without overdubs. It's a snapshot of a band dedicated to the live ideal, where structure begets improvisation.

Aphrodite's Child last album 666 is a masterpiece and their most critically acclaimed album. It took more than a year to finish, and by the time it was released, in 1972,

the band had already split up. The psychedelic atmosphere of their early work in combination with their search through new music territories are done well.

This true classic became recognized as one of the most important efforts in early progressive rock.

The three band members showing their variety and the little twists they putted in the songs.

Greek influences playing an important role in the long jams and greater use of electronic keyboards, studio experimentation and expanded instrumentation.

666 is an odyssey through the realms of progressive music and one where all their talents ultimately blended together.

After releasing their first EP Fuse, Cranes expanded to a four-piece band and recorded Self-Non-Self. The increased textures and drum slams showing their improvements. The dark sounds are a combination of industrial and post-punk music. 'One From The Slum' is an instrumental piece and one of the highlights of this versatile record. Alison Shaw's lonely voice is setting the tone on this breathtaking album. She's singing with deeper tones on a track like the industrial 'Focus Breathe'. The re-release bonus tracks include the live song 'Reach' and the rough and doomy 'Nothing In The Middle, Nothing At The End'.

Siblings Alison and Jim Shaw formed the band Cranes back in 1989. They recorded several successful albums, including 1991s Wings of Joy and 1994s Loved.

The album which was named after the studio Death in Vegas recorded most of their records is the crown on their career. It's an album full of surprises from one of the most interesting electronica groups to come out of the '90s. The production and arrangements from the duo Richard Fearless/Tim Holmes are combined with the greatness by guitarist Ian Button and bassist Mat Flint. It's a fine combination of their electronica sounds and the more rocking music. The vocal guest appearances by Iggy Pop, Jim Reid of the Jesus & Mary Chain, Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream, and Dot Allison are incredible and they're pushing this record to a higher level. This album's beauty lies in the complexity of the emotions it exhibits.

Richard Fearless is the only active member of the original Death in Vegas line-up. Their sound is influenced by rock, dub and industrial music.

I am Kloot is the second album of the band by the same name. Their music is haunting, melodic and smooth. This second piece yielded five singles, including the hits 'Life in a Day' and '3 Feet Tall'. It's much more than just a standard rock album as it's expanse their dark and fractured sound. Songs like 'From Your Favourite Sky' and 'Proof' are just brilliant and shows how they developed after their first release from two years earlier. It's all a bit more streamlined than before but that's the strength of the band. John Bramwell is a fine songwriter who created this beautiful marvel.

I am Kloot was as one of the most interesting bands of its time. Formed from the ashes of The Mouth they stood up and released some very successful releases.

After a limited self-financed release, this self-titled album can be seen as the proper debut by Indigo Girls. The album immediately boosted them up the charts, earning them a Grammy back in 1989, eventually reaching platinum in 1991. Featuring the complementing songwriting of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray and guest vocals by R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, the album is a showcase for jangling folk-rock, beautiful balladry and poetic lyrics. A delighted piece in which their harmonies are easy and lovely and the whole record is infused with a kind of gentle innocence.

In the wake of the new acoustic song-based styles of Suzanne Vega, Tracy Chapman and 10,000 Maniacs, Indigo Girls would manage to garner respectable mainstream success and maintain their rabid core following throughout the three decades after this release.

In the early 60's in France, Léo Ferré leaves the cabaret's stage where he used to perform for the music-hall scene where he keeps singing the Paris of lovers, night owls and misfits.

'I see music in shapes and colours, I write because I'm alive. I fervently believe in magic, in the moments of transcendence when everything makes sense. Through this I stay awake, I stay alive.'

Growing up on a Hertfordshire cul-de-sac then flying back 'home' to Kenya where her parents were born, shaped in Mara the traveller, the outsider and the romantic, that have become hallmarks of her music. Mara performs with her band (Poppy Ackroyd, Fiddes Smith, Jools Owen, Jamie Patterson) as well as solo.

Mara is classically trained in composition, piano and guitar as well as fine art. She has performed over 300 shows, both on festival stages and intimate concerts, most recent stages include Fusion (Germany), Kaltern Pop (Italy), Together the People (UK) and Sazavafest (Czech). Mara's music has taken her across Europe, to New Zealand, Australia, the US and around home shores in England, performing in venues small and large, some conventional, some extraordinary (including canal boats, caves, and a hospital!). She's become known for captivating audiences with her soulful melodies, rich lyricism, captivating voice, unassuming charm and wicked laugh

Metallica became huge stars after the August 1988 release of And Justice For All. The following month they embarked on the mammoth Damaged Justice world tour. This remarkable show captures them in ferocious form, performing many of their best-loved songs, a perfect heavy metal live show from the band's creative peak! Volume 2 of a killer live broadcast in glorious remastered sound quality.

By early 1992, the success of Ten had established Pearl Jam as absolute superstars of grunge. This show at Chicago's Cabaret Metro, recorded live by Q101 FM, features stunning live versions of almost the entire album, along with a killer performance of "State Of Love And Trust" from the Singles soundtrack. An essential live broadcasts from one of the biggest bands of the 90s.
