NA ZAROT opens a portal into a universe of darkness, chaos and spiritual upheaval. The sound is raw, jagged like cold iron and radically unpolished-an antithesis to any romanticized or völkisch fantasy, firmly rooted in an anti-fascist stance. NA ZAROT shapes lo-fi black metal infused with traces of punk as a counter-space: a place where archaic directness meets a dense, spiritually charged atmosphere that unfolds a hypnotic pull even within the noise. The production remains deliberately fragmented and unrefined-a kind of emotional excavation protocol that exposes the core of the genre without glorifying it. Lyrically, the tracks revolve around death, decay, isolation, spiritual disintegration and those threshold moments in which the abyss releases a strangely unsettling calm. Musically, sawing guitars, brutal screams, driving drums, sickly strings, ghostly voices and a distorted piano collide. Above it all lies a weight of leaden sorrow, until sudden ruptures drag the pieces without warning into even deeper darkness. Side A presents the tracks from the On Death and Dying tape, where literary spaces intersect with personal experiences. The lyrics brush against literary references such as Mallarmé's death poems, the legend of La Llorona or motifs from Romain Gary's The Dance of Genghis Cohn.Side B offers new, previously unreleased material titled "Alpensterben." The four songs preserve those unheard screams that would otherwise vanish into nothingness. Alpensterben becomes a blood-marked journey through the final hours of an existence scraping against its own ending-an intense, haunting echo of lived despair. Mit ‚The Regal Bastard‘ beschließt Nad Sylvan beeindruckend die Vampirate Trilogy. Im August 2017 begann er die Arbeit am dritten Teil der Reihe. Dazu schickt er seine musikalischen Ideen an die verschiedenen Kollaborateure, die am Album mitarbeiten sollen, und lässt sie ihre Ideen daruas entwickeln. Am Schluss wählt er dann aus dem Material aus, was am besten zum Album passt. ‚The Regal Bastard‘ ist ganz Nad Sylvans Vision, und er setzte sie mit Akribie im Studio um. Auch auf diesem Album vereint er eine beeindruckende Menge an musikalischem Talent. Steve Hackett spielt auf einem Track Gitarre, Guthrie Govan auf zweien, während Tony Levin auf einem Song am Bass zu hören ist. Jonas Reingold spielt Bass auf dem Rest des Albums, und Nick D'Virgilio ist an den Drums zu hören. Außerdem arbeitet Nad erneut mit denselben Sängerinnen, Sheona Urquhart, Jade Ell und Tania Doko.
Was können Fans von 'The Regal Bastard' erwarten? Für Nad ist dies das beste der drei Alben. „Ich bin mir sicher, die Fans werden es lieben. Es mag nicht ganz so heavy in den Riffs sein, wie die anderen, und es hat neben den gewohnt poppigen Prog-Elementen ebenfalls Einschüsse von R’n’B. Es ist der beste Weg, die Trilogie zu beenden. Jeder, der an dem Album beteiligt war, hat in großer Weise zu dessen Entstehung beigetragen, und geholfen, meine Vision in die Realität umzusetzen. Ich bin allen Musikern dafür sehr dankbar. Es ist ein sehr aufregendes Album geworden, eins, das den Fans sehr gut gefallen wird, da bin ich mir sicher.“
Das Album Artwork stammt erneut von Marcela Bolivar, mit der Nad bereits für 'The Bride Said No' zusammengearbeitet hat.

Nadja is a duo of multi-instrumentalist Aidan Baker and bassist Leah Buckareff—active since 2005—and making music which can be described as ambient doom, dreamsludge, or metalgaze. Nadja’s signature sound combines the atmospheric textures of shoegaze and ambient/electronic music with the heaviness, density, and volume of metal, noise, and industrial.
For their new album, Luminous Rot, the duo retain their overblown/ambient sound, and explore shorter and more tightly structured songs reflecting their interests not only in metal, but post-punk, cold-wave, shoegaze, and industrial.

Thematically, Luminous Rot explores ideas of 'first contact' and the difficulties of recognising alien intelligence. This was in part inspired by reading such writers as Stanislaw Lem and Cixin Lui -- in particular, theories on astro-physics, multi-dimensionality, and spatial geometry in "The Three Body Problem" -- as well as Margaret Wertheim's "A Field Guide To Hyperbolic Space," about mathematician Daina Taimina's work with crochet to illustrate hyperbolic space and geometry.
The album was recorded between their home studio, Broken Spine Studios, or Nadja’s live rehearsal studio, both in the district of Lichtenberg, Berlin. Luminous Rot marks the first album mixed by someone else, who in this case was David Pajo. The band comment, “as big fans of Slint, we thought he might fore-front the more angular, post-punk elements of our music - the mix is quite different from our previous albums. But, as usual, we had James Plotkin (Khanate, OLD, etc) master the album as we trust his ears and aesthetic, as he's mastered numerous records of ours.”

NANOWAR OF STEEL, the kings of masterful heavy metal parodies, will release their album Stairway To Valhalla on vinyl for the first time. The re-mastered edition will be available in two different colours and comes along with a bonus CD, which contains three yet unreleased fountains of fun, starting with party smashing “Uranus”, featuring Michael Starr (STEEL PANTHER). On their fourth full-length, the five-piece offers hits such as “The Call of Cthulhu” and “Barbie, Milf Princess of the Twilight” featuring Fabio Lione (Turilli/Lione Rhapsody). Now, in a time of uncertainty, Belgium’s NASTY is bringing the certainty of crushing sounds with their Century Media debut full-length, “Menace”. According to the band, “Menace” partially manifested itself during these globally turbulent times. “When the pandemic started it hit us all pretty bad during the recording and writing process. We wanted to write about the craziness in this world. This world is a menace for you, but you are also in danger of becoming a menace to this world through the input given by it.” “Menace” is 14 tracks of pure, pummeling musical violence. Recorded by Andy Posdziech (Any Given Day), “Menace” fits perfectly within NASTY’s mantra, “Four dudes doing fucked up music for a fucked up world.” Traditional song structures are sacked and replaced with stream of consciousness time signatures, breakdowns that drop like boulders with no warning, and Matthi - who handles all the vocals on the record - sounds like he’s screaming himself inside-out on every track. “Menace” could be NASTY’s most vengeful release to date. It is the sonic equivalent of a massive contusion. The front cover, done by artist Michael Shantz (Bring Me The Horizon, Your Demise, Drop Dead Clothing and many more), was already finished in late 2019, but turned out to be strangely fitting for these times. The band comments: “Our only guideline was capturing the insanity of the world including all kinds of nowadays’ additions. We gave him free rein and this is what he came up with.” Despite it’s caustic and chaotic nature, NASTY hopes that fans can find some catharsis in “Menace”. “We hope ‘Menace’ shows that you are not alone facing the problems the pandemic brings with it, and gives you new energy to fight through its effects.”

Former In the Woods... members deliver epic Norwegian Black Metal to takes you into the night sky!

It’s the moment just after the tree-root thick tangle of guitars come in and the luminous clean vocals light up the sky while the keyboards suddenly shine from below: when the singing enters on ‘Astrologer’, the first track of Nattehimmel’s first album “Mourningstar”, that one might actually hear a continuation from In The Woods...’s legendary “Omnio” album from 1997. None of the 5 members are strangers to one another, having met before in bands such as In The Woods... and Strange New Dawn.
We guarantee that the members regard “Omnio” pretty highly.
Enough to revere it though? The similarity is not likely to be incidental, and anyway proves fleeting in the context of the 8 songs on “Mournigstar”, this new union turning out
very creative in shaping their Black Metal with a variety of elements. Primarily, the vocals set Nattehimmel apart from many other acts of this nature by including a variety of tropes from harsh growls to monkish groans to undead rasps, plus other backing parts that overlay the slightly echoey production with a ton of reson.

On ‘Towards the Tomb of Times’ NAXEN consolidates their own contemporary take on black metal which is both truthful to the Scandinavian heritage and incorporates the atmospheric counterpart of USBM and Eastern European Melodies. With four tracks spanning over 47 minutes, the album explores the weakness of mankind, the unavoidable loss and the inevitable failure of our species. Acknowledging that all hope is lost and remains redundant in the end, transcendence is sought through fire, the perishment of flesh and death as the ultimate liberation. These feelings of existential disappointment, depression and despair flow through the melodies, revolve in the lyrics and are captured in the visuals (by Arjen Kunnen). The layout is crafted by Tobias Hahn. The album is mixed and mastered by Andy Roscyzk (Ultha) at Goblin Sound encapturing the veritable coldness and giving transparency to the multi-layered essence of the songs. All those elements constituting ‘Towards the Tomb of Times’ and their songs of darkness and loss engraved on this record are illustrative of how NAXEN has progressed dramatically in terms of sound and song-writing since their original conception in 2018.
