Deep Purple: pioneers of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. Legends of Rawk. It's about time Music On Vinyl gave them the star treatment. And we're starting with an album that was never before released on vinyl: Purpendicular.

The legendary band's 15th studio album was the first one they recorded with new guitarist Steve Morse, who pulled the band up to new heights and made this the most experimental Deep Purple album to date. There was more focus on the guitar, they used pinch harmonies, they sounded like they were having fun again, most famously so in "Vavoom: Ted The Mechanic" based on a true story Ian Gillan once heard in a pub.

The excellent riffs and awe-inspiring solos appear on two 180 gram audiophile vinyl LPs, alongside the exclusive - and elusive - bonus track "Don't Hold Your Breath".

First cut of the song that would later become 'Smokesatck Lightning' backed with a thunderous rockin' country Blues offering

The Dutch Oven Series brings you the greasiest, sleaziest, weirdest and cheesiest rock and roll, rhythm and blues, rockabilly, doo wop and country recordings from the 50s and 60s on 7 inch 45rpm single! Ideal for dee-jays, jukeboxes, collectors, parties and barbeques, the Dutch Oven series demonstrates that the strange and smelly can often be pleasurable!

A1: Alligator in a Sputnik race eats girl over wild piano on this rockabilly gem from New Mexico. Listeners won't be surprised to learn that it was recorded in an area close to a nuclear testing facility.

B1: Fabulous vocals and instrumentation in this unissued-at-the-time doo wop mambo. Love the break with the guitar and the vibes climbing all over each other. Mambo Uh!

When Elvis joined the Army in 1958 his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, and label scrambled for material to release to quell the demands of his maniacal, adoring fans. A Date With Elvis is comprised of singles and unreleased material ranging from his early Sun days in 1954 up to 1957. Featuring songs all the way from Bill Monroe and Charlie Feathers, to Lieber and Stoller, this may be a filler singles compilation but it's all classic material from one of rock's all-time legends at the prime of his career.
