It was never the acts plan to release a best-of album, especially at the unusual 15- year mark, rather, it rolled into motion naturally as a way to immortalise the victory of being around so long (in a scene where the shelf life for most artists doesn't last much longer than an album or two, fifteen years is something of a triumph). With that, Extrawelt invite those that were there from the start to join them in getting a kick out of being “officially mature”. And for those that were not, to have the chance to hear their story up until now, like it’s never been told before. And yes, while the listener may have outlived many of the clubs which first introduced them, it is unlikely that anyone has outgrown this brave,

The Berlin based Alexander Kowalski is responsible for projects like DisX 3 (Tresor, Konsequent), Mr. Discoteque (BCC), as Double X together with Stassy (Sender Berlin) and last but not least under his real name Alexander Kowalski exclusive for Kanzleramt. After his debut 12inch for Kanzleramt titled "Live" featured two unchanged live recordings, Alex released his second 12inch "Dark Soul" in 2000 which includes the first solo-studio-recordings for Kanzleramt. This 12" gives you a taste for Alexander Kowalski's follow up LP "Echoes". The acutely harmonic tracks on "Dark Soul" are a tribute to the dark side of Alexander Kowalski and may belong to one of the best productions without a doubt in 2000. Alexander released his really successful long-player "Response" in 2003 and his 12inch release "Alexander Kowalski With Funk D'Void And Joris Voorn" on Kanzleramt at last.

Thomas Schumacher represents one of those artists that was there since the very beginning, and he is the proof of how an artist can evolve in many ways during the years, but always been devoted to techno, and the meaning of it. 'When I Rock' was played all over the world for decades but now gets a brand new rework by label boss Emmanuel, and the creator itself Thomas Schumacher. Joseph Capriati updates three classic tracks from friend and Napoli legend Rino Cerrone's label Rilis. Known as an artist whose identity is inseparable from his home city, it is fitting that Joseph would revisit the work of a Neapolitan techno icon for his own label REDIMENSION. Capriati takes the unhinged spirit of early 00s Napoli techno and adds his signature touch. A must-have for fans of both these artists. In Joseph's own words: 'In 2003 I went to my first techno party, at Old River Park in Napoli, where Rino Cerrone was playing. I was into house music at the time but that day the Techno music changed my life. I'm happy to present three reinterpretations of his tracks all these years later, having become close friends over the years and working together on many projects. He allowed me to choose whichever tracks from his incredible, timeless Rilis discography and here are the results. Two new versions of Rino Cerrone originals, and one of a Gaetano Parisio remix.

After the last crazy studio session, Matt k created a brandnew remix from the legendary release from Carsten Fietz´s Rappelkiste. Matt k´s new remix is based on a crazy percussive baseline with some tribal elements. On the flipside we release the original mix from 1998 again, because it was a long time out of print !!
