Close friend of the party and Bizarre Trax crew member Jhobei delivers a slick 3 tracker for 004. The EP has been crafted with a playful jingle and is demonstrated perfectly through ethereal synths, dynamic FX and addictive basslines. Structured on a house tip, each of the cuts explore different avenues of the genre and offer versatility throughout any set.

Bristol-based artist Void Cells returns on Blind Allies with a solid five-tracks EP, filled with atmospheric beats and raw, distorted pads.
The record, different to the previous releases, includes a special remix by NX1 and features vocals by Helena Markos.

Annie Hall once again proves why she is one of the most interesting producers right now, continuing to carve her own niche of future machine funk right in between techno, electro and IDM. Overturn delivers a razor sharp remix with plenty of attention to detail, while Inter Gritty closes the EP with some serious old school vibes.

A tribute to a lifetime dedicated to music and athletics, specifically the marathon. A mini album where the melodies are mixed with IDM and electro rhythms, creating a single trip and trying to transfer the listener to what Merinero lives in each marathon he runs.

Dutch multi-talent Oceanic debuts on Rush Hour with the outstanding ‘Total Comfort’ EP, displaying his skills as an increasingly confident producer, taking cues both from classic Detroit and UK techno whilst looking at the future with four slices of delicately woven post-modern breakbeat techno. Excellent stuff!

Long awaited reissue of Connective Zone's Qwerty EP. Originally released in 2002 on Emoticon, the deep electronica sister label of Headspace Recordings. Fully re-mastered for a fresh 2021 pressing. Connective Zone, aka Lincoln-based duo Graham Sims and Simon Button, have been making their unique brand of deep techno for many years. Warm strings, thick chords, multi-layered synth melodies and crisp beats are the order of the day, with influences coming from early Detroit techno and 'artificial intelligence' era UK electronics. All four tracks pack a soulful punch, drawing from the past but allowing their individual sound to shine through. Rhythmically they range from straight-up 4/4 beats to more syncopated patterns, and are sure to find favour with more adventurous DJs as well as home listeners.

Taking reference from the rave energy that has passed through decades of UK dance music and combining influences from harder, noisy, industrial tropes that carry a similar raw approach, Ploy (Timedance, Hessle) delivers his debut LP "Unlit Signals" for L.I.E.S. Records.
Across these eight tracks we move through contained intensity and stifling darkness met with flashes of light and space, reflective of the darker pockets of the grubby dance floors of which this record is aimed at.

This body of work represents the space Ploy has found himself occupying over the past couple of years, an injection of dishevelled closing hours delirium, applied across a spectrum of bpm.

Rhythmically taking influence from elements of broken beats, soundsystem music and organic percussion as opposed to a straighter Techno template, 'Unlit Signals' captures the visceral energy that is much needed and often missing in genres at the forefront of the dance music world.Moreso this LP is reflective of the grim state of current social climates, and the artist's experiences looking for the darker, introspective ends when hitting the nightclubs. Heads down as opposed to hands up, Unlit Signals puts forth an ominous sonic dread that works the system with texture, low end and militant drum play.

Similar to previous Ploy releases it's nomadic in terms of styles and never really slots into one category easily, which ends up being the true beauty of "Unlit Signals".

ohne kommerziellen Wert delivers musical variety with four electrifying tracks on OHNE004. Valura’s Faceless is a modern and fresh sounding interpretation of the classic breakbeat sound and will have you showing off your robot dance moves immediately before the BL Brixton track, React, changes the tone with pure acid and a groovy drum machine thunderstorm. On the B-Side, it’s the hypnotizing VUUDUU who implores you to Take Your Molly (in the name of global peace) before diving into the dubby abyss of Lifka’s eclectic Polymorph.

Ukrainian hardware lover AC130 is back on Lonewolf with his debut solo EP.The tracks included in 'The Journey' are the reflection of Yaroslav approach to dance music.The artists express his vision through psychedelic and trippy soundscapes, acid lines and bass-heavy grooves.On remix duties Paris based and Forest ill Records affiliate Muelsa.This EP is top shelf material from two talents on the rise! Next up on FT, young sound-king Nick León with an incredible 5 track EP. Miami-based León forms his massive world of sound production and design into Future Times shapes. The EP follows up releases on labels like NAAFI and Tra Tra Trax (and more) with a planet of sounds and modes, crossing back and forth into techno and his polyrhythmatic styles. The A-Side plays like a scene, all three tracks connected and growing, meshing classic synth pop hooks and serious percussion dexterity in "Blue Data" and "Scavenger Hunt", along with a stripped down pearl to start things off with in "Igneous Drums". B-Side sees the anthemic, levitating techno of "Gum Tree" and a collaboration with Miami's Greg Beto (NI UN PERO, LIES) in the tunnel-driving, splacked electro cut "Sewer System" - TIP!

Like trudging through viscous air, I Lost All My Data is a blissed-out barrage of sub-bass that nods to a long-lasting passion for sound system culture.

Uploading turbo-charged wubs with molten glass melodies, the debut EP of Giovanni Bonelli (aka Notte Infinita) is a welcomed update for UK style broken-techno conventions. Booting-up with its title track, the record quadrisects the fabric of digital music, each cut a sonic reprogramming of its predecessor. ‘Slippery Tuff’ references off-kilter club, while on the flip, ‘Ecstatic Dub (Roller Mix)’ climaxes in an ultra-sensory faux-organic whorl. Unplugging the whole thang, ‘Oxygen’ manipulates post-dubstep textures, into a data-roused jungle tunnel.

UK electronic legend Carl Finlow makes his full debut on Avoidant Records with the clinical Engines Of Creation EP. Easily one of the most highly respected producers to come out of the UK, Carl has a discography going back over 20 years and spanning multiple genres. After his first outing the label as part of the "Defend Your Planet" compilation, Carl drops 4 classic, superbly produced cuts of hi techno electro funk.

Title track "Engines Of Creation" opens in true Finlow style with robotic beats and flexing, otherworldly synths. "Dead Centre" bangs hard with it's disruptive, fast paced percussion but leads down darker paths with ominous, spacial FX and atmospheres. The frenetic sounds of "Sonic Six" continue Finlow's innovative and funked up trajectory before closing out with the interstellar trip of "Reckless", that bounds through the the cosmos, radiating it's high energy output.

-Container is the solo project of American-born, London-based musician Ren Schofield, who over the last decade has refined a signature sound combining his background in drumming and lo-fi noise with techno and rhythmic electronics, cementing himself as a distinctive and disorderly force in modern electronic music.

-‘My intentions and goals for this record were to make it way more‘rock’ oriented than ‘techno’, almost as if it could be aband or adapted by one (albeit a rather non-traditional one), and Iwanted to incorporate some potentially awkward sounding timesignatures, but do my best to disguise them as something digestibleand not without a groove.’

Just like Freddy Krueger, Final Dream resurrects from the past to haunt your nights and deliver to the masses his threatening message. Author of a mighty album and three collector EP's on experimental techno label Audio Illusion Recordings from 1995 to 2002, British Electro veteran Phil Klein aka Bass Junkie returns with a vengeance under his most frightening alias. 19 years after his last transmission, he serves up a new four tracker full of his infectious strain of corrosive and weird electro.

The A-side opens with the mental "Dark Flow", a pounding tune based upon hammering beats surrounded by sinister strings and a gloomy atmosphere. The title track "Project Fear" coming next goes deeper into the realm, merging lethal frequencies to demonic beats.

The flipside introduces "Force Majeure", a milestone of an instant classic made of robotic drums sequences fused into subtle acid lines while "The Devil's Playground" concludes the 12" with 7 minutes of brain manipulations. Present "Project Fear EP" appears as an opened window to the future, an invitation to foresee what Evil is cooking for you in his laboratory. Just a reminder that there's no way to hide, accept your fate, nothing can stop the darkness!

Long term Seven Hills friend and collaborator Thee J Johanz returns to wax for the third instalment of our original release series.

This release runs close to the heart for Johanz as it was produced in the wake of his mother’s passing and stands as a profoundly personal eulogy for loved ones passed. Where Goes Your Soul? has all the trademark spiralling synth lines and hypnotic rhythm making that we have come to love in Johanz’s music making.

The title track of the EP: Where Goes Your Soul? stands alone on the A side but carries more than enough weight to hold its own. Stabbing synths build alongside a subtly haunting vocal, up to an awesome crescendo and intoxicating groove. Kicking off the B side is Two C Bee, an aptly psychedelic mix of soft pads and helical synth arpeggios. The EP closes with an impressive bubbling analogue landscape, Analex. This beat-less masterpiece with a sincerely cinematic feel, rounds things off in style.

Transparent Sound returns in 2021 with another well overdue reissue. Originally released on Solid Groove in 1999, Night & Day is an EP that showcases the versatility Transparent Sound offers as an artist. All while retaining the groove focused backbone which makes him a legend in the electro scene.

Jaded by a world in which receiving a notification justifies interrupting conversations and people travel from one end of the world to the other just to take selfies, 4 compadres in search of meaning find themselves in the depths of the Canadian forest to embark on the longest jam session of all time. Months of messing around have already passed when an elusive radio signal infiltrates their circuitry, giving hope of a Somewhere or Someone else. Get onboard their DIY spaceship and join the odyssey through their encrypted network.

Secret organisation Sunrise Inc. appears once again from the shadows revealing their mysterious new architects, Thru Zero...not much is known about this enigmatic force, yet they have left behind 5 traxx designed to take listeners 2 vast psychadelic space dimensions: Doomsday Ambience, B-Boy Battle Funk, New Beat and Subterranean Electrobass.

For it’s inaugural release, label boss Sepehr provides the first electrified soundtrack for Shaytoon records with “Crown Jewel”. Listeners should expect visions of monoliths, obsidian mountains underneath blood-red soaked skies and freaky soundwaves while listening. “Crown Jewel” EP should be listened to while hitchhiking across the country with only a bottle of wine in a knapsack, dreaming of dancing to the drum. Stuart Evans, aka Sordid Sound System is one of the founders of The Green Door Studio, a not for profit, analogue recording studio in Glasgow which emerged from an increasing disillusionment with the modern ways of music production. His sound holds outsider qualities, being everything but generic and predictable, mixing dub with movie soundtracks in the tradition of Carpenter and Italian likes.

On this 7” released on Höga Nord Rekords, SSS deconstructs and rebuilds music in an imaginative style, pairing tribe-ritual “back to ape”-beats with synthesized cosmic harmonies. In a way, we are enjoying straight up dub here but this record is also a display of the vivid and creative Glasgow scene centred round “The Green door studio” and record labels like “Invisible Ink” where krautrock and 80’s/90’s electronic music is part of the foundation. Boundless joy for every girl and boy!

AGT Records return to their Editions series with the reissue of a sizzling 4-tracker from Stabilizer. Originally released in 2001 on Boom Box records, its sound is a scintillating hybrid of breakbeat and electro and a prime example of the glory days of the early 2000’s breaks scene.

As electrifying breakbeats pound away beneath clinical high-hats and percussion, each track has its own personality and character. Mysterious samples and melodies are used to powerful effect, creating a sense of intrigue in amongst the beats. They are expertly placed and relieve the pressure of the tracks at just the right time, allowing the dancefloor to stay locked in, head down.

While all of this is going on, rolling basslines create warm grooves that keep things pushing forwards, the chunky bass weight balancing with the ice-cold elements above.

This record captures the hedonistic spirit of the rave from two decades ago, and with things beginning to open up again that feeling is due a return to the dancefloors. Moving from the living room to the main room, it feels right to get this one back into circulation, all in good time.

The inaugural release from TOHT is a 12″ trip that takes you from the banks of the Ganges to the break-beating heart of the equatorial rainforests.

This vinyl 12″ is a ‘white label’ style release, housed in white disco bag sleeve. It features ‘Breathe’ by User Only (Mat Carter & Stu Dunn), part of the TOHT family sound.

It launches project TOHT‘s entry into the audio abyss, aiming to cut through the noise and communicate a transcendental rhythm.

It is the first of three releases in the ‘Mask’ series and features two tracks chosen to whet your appetite for the TOHT sound.

Arad, real name Dara Smith, first joined the VOITAX catalogue in June 2020. Back then, the Irish artist served us up with "Radiance Haze" - a 6-track EP, spanning from heavy-hitting breaks to the ethereal ambience, with heavy features of Smith's vocals. Known for his multidisciplinary vision on music, he has also previously made seminal moves with his work as one half of Lakker, alongside Eomac, dropping groundbreaking music on heavyweight labels such as R&S, Blueprint and Stroboscopic Artefacts. For his second EP on VOITAX, Smith now returns with five beautifully crafted tracks that he titles "Augmented Fantasy". While following a similar approach, he does not fail to expand his repertoire of celestial dream-like atmospheres, which he carefully surrounds with a whole variety of vocals, and accurately placed broken drum patterns. In addition to his own singing, Arad also presents two impressive collaboration tracks, in which one of them features the voice of Stine Omar, also widely known as one half the Berlin-based pop duo EASTER. Driving rhythmics and processed, grainy vocals turn this piece into guaranteed hit material. Another collaboration with the befriended vocalist and music producer Nina Hynes serves as a touching closing chapter for this brilliantly produced, eclectic 5-tracker. All pieces are perfectly glued together while keeping their very individual character and soundscapes. The listener is certainly left with an augmented fantasy, as well as a curiosity to hear more to come from the Irish talent.
