Dies ist das wichtige zweite Album von DARKANE. Nach dem Debütalbum "Rusted Angel", bei dem DARKANE noch nicht wussten, wie sie klingen wollten, hatten sie dieses Mal einen Stil zu entwickeln.
Christofer sagte 2001 in einem Interview: "Ich mag es, Musik zu schreiben, die aus technischen, brutalen Teilen besteht, die sich zu einem eingängigeren Refrain auflöst, bei dem man sich von all dem schwierigen Input erholen kann".

DARKANE wollten, dass "Insanity" schneller und melodischer wird, einfach mehr von allem im Vergleich zu "Rusted Angel". Diesmal luden sie auch einen größeren Chor und ein Orchester ein, um das Intro ("Calamitas") aufzunehmen, das auch als Intro für kommende Live-Shows dienen sollte. Lawrence Mackrory hatte DARKANE nach den Aufnahmen zu "Rusted Angel" und vier Liveshows verlassen, und sein Platz wurde von Andreas Sydow eingenommen. Nach fünf intensiven Aufnahmewochen bei Dug Out Productions in Uppsala, Schweden, wiederum mit dem Produzenten Daniel Bergstrand, war das Album endlich fertig.

In der letzten Nacht im Studio schlug ein Blitz in das Studio ein und zerstörte das Mischpult. Das war der Zeitpunkt, an dem DARKANE beschlossen, das Album "Insanity" zu nennen.

Nach der Veröffentlichung von "Insanity" spielten DARKANE unter anderem ihren allerersten US-Auftritt auf dem Milwaukee Metal Fest XV.

UNHERZ haben ihr mittlerweile 9. Studioalbum während der Coronazeit geschrieben, welche bei so manchem Bandmitglied Spuren hinterlassen hat.

So geht es auf "Sinnkrise" um die Aufarbeitung tiefer Rückschläge, den Umgang mit der persönlichen Lebenskrise sowie - und das ist das Wichtigste - der Erkenntnis, dass Aufgeben keine Option ist.
Das Leben schlägt manchmal knallhart zu und es gibt diese Momente, in denen man feststellt, dass man eigentlich nicht mehr kann und aufgeben will. Doch wenn man diese Krise überwunden hat, sieht man umso mehr, wie schön das Leben doch ist.
Das Album soll vermitteln, dass Krisen zum Leben dazugehören; es soll aber auch in diesen beschissenen Zeiten Kraft geben. Denn wie heißt es im Song "Ich falle" so schön: "Selbst im größten Dreck kann eine Pflanze gedeihen!"
Als Gastmusiker sind Richard Jung (ex-The Busters), Jessica Conte (Glanzmomente) sowie Jean Bormann (Rage) mit von der Partie.

CRYSTAL BALL took its time during the pandemic-related break to write lots of new material, so they could choose from over 30 Songs for the "CRYSTERIA" album.
CRYSTAL BALL's new guitar player Peter Berger also contributed many songs and ideas to this album. He was a very refreshing and motivating input.

The album features the vocal duet "Call Of The Wild" with Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, MSG) whom the band got to know at a festival in Switzerland in 2018.

Back in print ! Spittle Records present an expanded reissue of Massacre's Killing Time, originally released in 1981. Following the breakup of Cambridge's avant-rock legends, Henry Cow, guitarist Fred Frith moved to NYC in 1979, and soon found himself deep in the heart of the city's robust post-punk and free-jazz scenes. He performed with Bill Laswell and Fred Maher, from the group Material, as a power trio of sorts under the moniker of Massacre. The group quickly garnered a reputation around town, and around the world for that matter, as a heavy and heady band that experimented greatly with rhythm, time signatures, and tone. As Frith himself put it, "the group was a direct response to New York. It was a very aggressive group, kind of my reaction to the whole New York rock club scene." Massacre released one album, Killing Time, before disbanding for nearly 20 years. Their first wave as a group crashed fast and furiously and this one album, recorded in part live in Paris, and in part at Brooklyn's OAO Studio, is a perfect encapsulation of early '80s NYC. In addition to the original album, first released on Celluloid in 1981, this deluxe three-sided double LP includes eight bonus tracks recorded live between '80 and '81 at The Stone in San Francisco, and Inroads and CBGB in NYC. Avant-jazz-post-punk-noise of the highest order from several legends and one of the most important projects Frith and Laswell were ever involved in.

Guests on this daring symphonic experience are French chanteuse and multi-instrumentalist SoKo and Italian actress, singer and director Asia Argento. SoKo is signed to Because Music and her track 'We Might Be Dead by Tomorrow' was featured in the viral video 'First Kiss', which has garnered over 63 million views and debuted at number 9 in the Billboard Hot 100 last year. Asia Argento, who has starred in music videos for Marilyn Manson, Placebo and Tim Burgess, recently wrote the storyline for ASAP Rocky's music video and short film 'Phoenix', which has had over 5.5 million hits. "Flat Beat" is a piece by French house musician Mr. Oizo. It was featured as a bonus track on his debut album Analog Worms Attack. An accompanying music video was released on VHS. The music video features Flat Eric, a puppet, head banging to the track. Widely publicized by Flat Eric's appearance in many commercials for Levi's and the popularity of the music video, the track peaked at number five on the French Singles Chart.

Outside France, "Flat Beat" topped the charts in Austria, Finland, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. The track is instrumental, and is one of only twenty-five instrumental singles to top the charts in the latter country.

And over the course of (now) four releases, Index For Working Musik have seen to using the sprawling boundaries to great effect, flexing a polyglot of styles to convey the language of the moment. On Which Direction Goes The Beam, the murky, distant ambience that was 2023's Indexé has been fleshed out, incorporating everything from the Brian Aldiss laced, ground lightning shudder of Dome, to the chamber-like arrangements of This Kind Of Punishment. There's even a candle flickering in the window for Think Fellers Union Local 282 that warmed these ears. And if you're a fan of the great Dutch band, Trespassers W (who isn't?), the collective consciousness IFWM enunciates on here is a similar testament of a band growing more sure footed in the pursuit of not only knowing all the ways in, but carving a few of their own on the way out.
