Edoardo Florio Di Grazia is a Cantautore (singer-songwriter) and story collector from the Amalfi coast, born in Florence and living in Paris, of a Neapolitan family..
Edoardo tries, like an antenna, to pick up signals and transform them into songs. Writing songs allows him to travel and unite distant worlds, to create imaginary landscapes on which to dream up new music: the Amalfi rocks of Tangier harbor can lead directly to a house in Belleville overlooking a Florentine piazza.

Edoardo is also a writer, with a PhD in medieval history from the University of Florence, a podcast author, radio show host, and DJ Selector, a compulsive Digger constantly on the lookout for the rare gem. He will publish next spring "Italia Express" the podcast produced by Radiooooo. It is a journey in five stages through the main Italian cities (Naples, Rome, Bologna, Milan, and Genoa) to discover music and history, from the post-war period to today.

After a first EP “Indossare Il Mare” released in June 2023, the spring of 2024 will see the release of “Ambra e Corallo”, Edoardo Florio Di Grazia’s first album, produced by the Parisian afro-beat label Comet Records (Tony Allen, Ebo Taylor, etc.). 9 songs about journeys, a small collection of stories found in the deep and mythological Mediterranean Sea. Like bottles in the sea, these songs belong to no one and are timeless, messages whispering us the dream of a new path to explore. The story of his first album, "Ambra e Corallo" has the flavor of a novel, the aftertaste of a contemporary fairy tale.

Manchester independent Dark Red Records brings it's 4th instalment in the form of a multi-artist EP from Ego-Free Sequences, rising new French talent Sqimer (also on mastering duties for this release) and label regular Darsk, all coming together to provide a satisfyingly varied selection of dark, meditative Drum & Bass and Jungle tracks which meld together classic breaks and editing with a distinctly modern and experimental approach, all finished in a wholly organic and listenable style. Feedback and support has been very strong across the board with two tracks played by scene legend Klute on his Kool FM show in February.

Since her re-discovery in 2013 via cult favourite The Space Lady’s Greatest Hits, The Space Lady’s mission of galactic peace and celestial harmony has grown into a world-wide underground phenomenon. Recorded in 1990, The Space Lady’s original repertoire is a parallel universe greatest hits: songs familiar are transmogrified into shimmering bliss while new compositions amplify the message. The Space Lady’s Other Hits, released on April 20th for Record Store Day 2024, constitutes the songs recorded by Susan “The Space Lady” Dietrich Schneider as part of that repertoire that never made the original Greatest Hits, save for a limited bonus CD on the first CD pressing. Remastered by Mikey Love for vinyl, The Space Lady’s Other Hits completes the picture.

The Space Lady began her odyssey on the streets of Boston in the late 70s, then San Francisco ten years later, playing versions of contemporary pop music with an accordion and dressed flamboyantly. Following the theft and destruction of her accordion , The Space Lady invested in a then-new Casio keyboard, complete with a phase shifter, delay pedal and headset mic, birthing an otherworldly new dimension to popular song that has captured the imaginations of the underground and its leading exponents ever since.

The Space Lady’s Other Hits were recorded as they were played on the street, live, one-take, with Schneider playing, singing and simultaneously manipulating the various effects. Beginning with Elvis Presley’s iconic All Shook Up, the walking bassline underpinning the vocal, phasing in and out of this dimension, providing a fragile, extraterrestrial shadow to Presley’s original lust-driven performance. Slapback Boomerang is an original composition, written by Schneider’s then-husband Joel Dunsany a Rock ’n’ Roll pounder that could have been performed by The Cramps, its tale of relationship turmoil changed into a meditation on the nature of echo and feedback. There are moments where Schneider performs vocal caesuras, swimming in delay and phase for the pleasure of it, a pantomime drama performance that rings out. Closing Side B, Puttin’ On The Ritz is Irving Berlin’s 20s smash hit manipulated into a sombre ballad with its latent class struggle narrative brought to the fore.

A staple of The Space Lady’s performances to this day, Golden Earring’s 70s global hit Radar Love retains something of the original’s driving gallop but in The Space Lady’s telling it is shorn of the tight-trousered, taut machismo. The Space Lady coos and reaches up into the heavens away from the road, the phaser waves drenching the composition with transcendence.
Schneider’s falsetto performances in the choruses do nothing but lift the spirits ever-arching upwards. Next, The Space Lady emasculated Jim Morrison’s performance in The Doors’ 20th Century Fox. Faithfully playing Ray Manzarek’s keyboard parts on her Casio, Schneider disintegrates Morrison’s lust into waves of echo and delay, creating a Dubbed out version of the song, sounding eroded and decayed in all its ghostly glory. Pioneering Rock ’n’ Roll outfit Pete & The Pirates’ 1960 hot Shakin’ All Over, something of a response to Elvis’ All Shook Up, is blown out in warm fuzz and the celestial hug of The Space Lady’s
spirit.

This tune has a long history. We recorded some tracks with Prince Jamo back in 2010, of which this was one of them. A couple of years back Andreas picked up this track again with the idea of making a new riddim for it with live musicians and a more organic feel. Linking it up with Earth Works studio & musicians at the studio aka Signal One Band.
The riddim was then sent to Aba Ariginal for horns overdubs.

Andreas did make this all happen, so this is a retrospect release, in the loving memory of our brother, a true rootsman soldier, Andreas Weslien.

FOLTERKAMMER bietet ein Klangerlebnis, wie man es noch nie zuvor gehört hat. Der komplett auf Deutsch gesungene Song leitet einen 45-minütigen thematischen Abstecher in die Tiefen des BDSM ein, wo Schmerz und Lust miteinander verschmelzen. Dieser Ausflug ins Tabu ist keine Überraschung, denn zur Band gehört auch der IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT-Gitarrist Zachary Ezrin, und das Album bietet ein wirklich verstörendes Covermotiv des bekannten Künstlers Eliran Kantor (Immolation, Heaven Shall Burn). Unbehagliches Zuhören hat sich noch nie so gut angefühlt.

Legendary cartoonist and illustrator Robert Crumb was also a captivating musician who with his band The Cheap Suit Serenaders specialized in recreations of both early popular and rural rooted music and newly composed songs in those veins

The very talented band was composed of Terry Zwigoff (who later produced the award-winning movie "Crumb"), Robert Armstrong, Bob Brozman, Alan Dodge, and Tom Marion. 'Singing In The Bathtub' offers some of their best work including the title track as well as Chile Blues, Hula Girl, Sing Song Girl, Pedal Your Blues Away, My Gal Sal, and many more. Crumb and the Serenaders always provided delightful music with great spirit, humor, and energy.

Andi Otto’s Bangalore Whispers gets finally repressed. The psychedelic track which he recorded together with the Indian singer MD Pallavi in 2016 has become a hit in the downtempo scene around the globe (“Saaaa - resa nisa”). Pingipung press a new edition of the much sought after single on the occasion of their 20th label anniversary. In this 2022 edition the original track is paired with the Peter Power remix which has not seen the light of day on vinyl before.The Brazil-based producer slows the track down a notch and adds even more space. A perfect tune both for the dancefloor or meditation.

Das Album baut auf den Fundamenten des Vorgängers auf und setzt den von THE VICE über die Jahre geschaffenen Weg fort. Dennoch ist "Dead canary run" ein ganz anderes Biest. Dreckiger Rock, geschwärzter Metal, todgeweihter Pop, sie alle sind da und gedeihen wie nie zuvor. Und vielleicht kommt einem der Sludge, aus dem er hervorgekrochen ist, bekannt vor, aber es gibt viele neue Ebenen, die die Band mit diesem Album erreicht hat. Mit der Hilfe ihres alten Partners Joel Öhman (der bei einigen Songs das Klavier beigesteuert hat) haben sie im Spätsommer dieses Jahres das Studio Underjord mit einem Album verlassen, auf das sie nicht stolzer sein könnten. Seit "White teeth rebellion" haben sie einen langen Weg zurückgelegt, und "Dead canary run" ist ein schönes Zeugnis dieser Reise. The eagerly awaited debut album from the London-based four-piece * At the forefront of the new generation of Black British guitar music with Big Joanie and Bob Vylan * Supporting Slowdive on their UK tour in February * Singles playlisted by BBC Radio 6 Music, Spotify and others Whitelands are Etienne, Jagun, Vanessa and Michael and they are ostensibly a shoegaze band ever since Etienne stumbled across Slowdive's KEXP session in his recommended videos on YouTube a few years ago. However, they come at the resurgent, Gen Z-soundtracking genre from a refreshingly different angle thanks to their mishmash of musical backgrounds. There's also the fact that their line-up is fully PoC in what is traditionally seen as a predominantly white genre. "There's an underlying narrative that it's OK for white men to be romantic, sensitive, emotional and make dreamy music and, by contrast, young Black men should be making angry music," says Vanessa. "We've all grown up with these stereotypes and therefore I think people are mystified when they see Whitelands." "I consume a lot of media," says Etienne of his wide range of influences. "Videogames, music, news, paintings, manga, animations and film are my go-to, especially anime. There is this drive to want to understand and feel the whole weight of an expression. So, the songs are based on other songs, pictures, aesthetics, 'vibes', an emotion someone else felt. Fundamentally, you are what you eat." As a result of this diet, the lyrics are stunning, dealing with everything from unbalanced relationships and vulnerability to depression, being diagnosed with ADHD and, on the new single 'Tell Me About It' (featuring vocals by Dottie from the band's Sonic Cathedral labelmates deary), trying to navigate love following that diagnosis. The album is bookended by two poetically political songs - 'Setting Sun' and 'Now Here's The Weather' - that deal with imperialism, racism and performative ignorance. "We've experienced tokenism, micro-behaviours, envy and resentment," concludes Vanessa. "So we feel we have to continually prove ourselves. We know we're making a positive impact, but I want Whitelands to really break some barriers."

"Thee Headcoats, who put out their first album in 1989, have recorded raw, primordial romps that seem inspired by American Delta blues musicians like Sonny Boy Williamson or the Southern swamp rock of Hasil Adkins, while maintaining a decidedly English sound. They've recorded under a slew of monikers, and issued an amazing discography of full-lengths, EPs, 7"s, and what-have-you for virtually every cool indie label since they formed (including US-based labels like Sub Pop, Get Hip, Sympathy for the Record Industry, and K, among others). Whether he's covering songs with a Bo Diddley beat, garage rock chug, or playing one of his angry young man/dysfunctional family rantings ('The Day I Beat My Father Up', for example), Billy Childish has built up a solid and somewhat rabid fanbase by releasing songs that you wouldn't normally think would attract a huge audience to begin with. However, I Am the Object of Your Desire has the distinction of being the last album by this band, as their prolific leader Billy Childish moved on to a new band; they're called the Buff Medways, which is apparently an ancient and now extinct breed of chicken which had feathered legs. It's also the name of the UK imprint this record was released on. This collection kicks right off with the album-titled track reveling in pure Headcoats fashion: that warm, fuzzy vibrato guitar with Childish's fuzzy, electronically distorted voice (an effect repeated throughout the album); Johnny Johnson's soft, flowing bassline; and Bruce Brand's primeval drums. The group keeps this sort of mid-tempo riffage going for the next couple of tracks. Johnson plays a mean harp on 'Hurt Me (Slight Return)', but things don't really take off until 'In a Dead Man's Suit' and the swaggering, Texas blues 'Chatham Town Welcomes Desperate Men'. The band's punk roots show up in songs like 'An Image of You' and 'Your Crying Means Nothing to Me' while 'Come into My Mind' has a definite Kinks influence.
