Teesy (Künstlername für Toni Mudrack) musste sich immer öfter Zweifeln stellen, hat die Freude am Musikmachen verloren - Doch irgendwann platzt der Knoten und er nimmt die Studioarbeit wieder auf. »Das war ein Gefühl wie früher. Eine Leichtigkeit, die ich sehr lange nicht mehr gespürt habe.« Die neue Motivation zeigt sich nicht nur im Texten, sondern auch in der Musik selbst. Er spielt Drums, Klavier, Gitarren und Bässe selbst ein. Keine Libraries, Loops. Kein Copy'n'Paste. Stattdessen handgemacht von vorne bis hinten, wie aus einem Guss. Eben richtige Songs. Mit Dynamik und Struktur. Keine Zweifel, keine Ängste. Wenig Kopf, stattdessen viel Bauch und noch mehr Herz. Teesy ist eben doch Kein Künstler.

On the Corner have taken a deep dive into the murky waters whereancient percussion are jolted through history with a high voltageshock of experimental electronics. Across the territory of 'When theWaters Refused Our History', Sunken Cages channels his ownjourney and that of the world of his ancestors and adroitly breachesthe porous frontiers being pushed by the cosmic adventures-led OntheCorner. Sunken Cages is the moniker for Ravish Momin, an Indian-borndrummer, electronic music producer and educator. For the pastdecade, Momin has been experimenting with enhancing his acousticdrum sounds with electronic ones, and has crafted a unique electro-acoustic approach. He triggers sounds and textures, layers live-loops and manipulates them 'on the fly', to blur the lines betweencomposition and improvisation. While rooted in Indian folk and BlackMusic traditions, Sunken Cages is also influenced by the streetsounds of South African G'com, Angolan Kuduro and Egyptian Mahraganat. He currently leads the electronic music focussed duo 'TurningJewels Into Water' with Haitian percussion virtuoso Val Jeanty.Ravish's unique approach quickly led him to work as a sideman witha diverse cast of musicians ranging from pop-star Shakira tolegendary avant-saxophonist Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre (of theAACM).

DJ and label owner Pete On the Corner has created a home for innovative, bordercrossing, genre pushing artists. The OtC vision is to bring music to the world that is knocking at the 'Door To The Cosmos'. The label is an inimitable mixture of Miles Davis 'call it what you want' attitude, Sun Ra's Afro Futurism and the ecstatic soul lifting influence of black music on electronic dance music. On 'Door To The Cosmos - Dancefloor Sampler' Pete has curated a volume of cuts from present and future label family. This first in the series, is not just knocking at the door but giving it a kick! It's club music referencing the source, be it Detroit, or UK bass culture combined with future sounds rising from cosmopolitan hotbeds of sonic heat. On this maxi EP Venezuela meets India via New York, the street sound of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania pulses through UK Jungle. Undergrounds pushing the dance, breaking borders and genre alike. Rhythms from the ancestors channelled for future times.
