Von der Zusammenarbeit mit The Clash und Bob Marley über die Verschmelzung von Genres mit Big Audio Dynamite bis hin zur Moderation seiner eigenen Radioshow auf BBC 6Music, dem Gewinn eines Grammys scheint Don Letts alles erlebt zu haben. Mit der Veröffentlichung seiner Bestseller-Autobiografie "There and Black Again" im letzten Jahr und "Rebel Dread", einem Film, der sein Leben dokumentiert, in diesem Jahr könnte man meinen, er hätte es geschafft. Aber es gibt eine Sache, die der 66-jährige Universalgelehrte nicht getan hat... bis jetzt. Mit der Single "Outta Sync" gibt Letts sein Debüt als Solokünstler und einen Vorgeschmack auf sein Debütalbum, ein berauschender Cocktail aus dubbigen, basslastigen Rhythmen, Island vibes und Spoken Words, die mit melodischen Hooks und Harmonien kombiniert werden. Mit ihrem aktuellen Song "On My Love" mit David Guetta auf Erfolgskurs, hat Zara auch Details zu ihrer Frühjahrstournee in Großbritannien und Europa bekannt gegeben. Die Tour mit dem Namen "The Venus Tour" wird ab 3. November zum Verkauf stehen, zusammen mit den Terminen für Zara's schwedische Holiday-Specials "Honor The Light". Es ist ihre erste weltweite Headliner-Tour seit der Pandemie. VENUS ist ein Pop-Album, das einer Göttin würdig ist. Zara Larsson setzt ihre eigene Agenda und blickt darauf zurück, wo sie herkommt. Die erste Single "Can't Tame Her" war eine kraftvolle, frauenzentrierte Hymne, die über 16 Wochen lang in den britischen Top 40 verweilte, Platz #3 bei iTunes erreichte und Platz #1 im US-Dance-Radio belegte. The original pitch for the music was 'Castlevania meets Mario Golf,' and it took me some time to find a good balance that we were happy with. But I'm really proud of the end result!" Ai Phoenix album debut on vinyl for the first time. This record was originally self-released in 1998, and picked up a year later by Oslo based label dBut Records for a wider release. The 3 piece band rose quickly in the norwegian underground scene, getting a lot of airplay on national radio, touring and continued making critically acclaimed records for Racing Junior and later Glitterhouse Records in Germany.

It was made at home on 4-track cassette, but still showcased a band full of confidence in both songwriting and production, and even though it was never released on streaming platforms, it has remained a favorite among those who bought the album more than 20 years ago.

Hard- the third album from LA-based indie-pop-funk messengers Thumpasaurus - began in the studio. To capture the lightning-in-a-bottle magic of their shows, the band tracked live as a full band, and then sprinkled further funk on top.

"We set out to seek what would be the natural evolution of our sound," says Lucas Tamaren of the new album. "It showcases our development as a live band as well as our members' individual growth as producers in their own right.

The main success of Witchthroat's Serpent's self-titled doom debut lies in the contrast between the raw vocals and the fuzzy guitars, both of which are produced by Fredrik Bolzann.

David Nance & Mowed Sound, the first album by Nance to be released on Third Man Records, cuts deep. Memories sprout back, like the sounds of a great rock song blasting from the neighbor’s truck as it revs away into the night. There is a definite connection to the past, but the swinging guitar boogie and snarled blues you might expect from Nance and company sounds leaner and completely hypnotic. What remains are 10 tracks from a well oiled group so rhythmically together that the songs on the album seem as connected as links in a chain.

Founding member of Band of Horses, Tyler Ramsey, returns with his fourth solo, full length studio record “New Lost Ages” - finding him facing the harsh realities of the world as we know it. Fans of Ramsey’s former projects, Father John Misty and Lord Huron will find “New Lost Ages” to be a relatable reprieve - one that feels both familiar and starkly new. Traversing genre-bending terrain, the new record from Ramsey is as indie and psych-rock as it is singer-songwriter, showcasing his talent and dedication to the craft.

Engineers songwriter and guitarist Mark Peters' new EP features guests including former One Dove singer Dot Allison and pedal steel legend B.J. Cole. The EP includes two brand new tracks alongside two remixes of songs from last year's acclaimed album `Red Sunset Dreams'. The Dot Allison-featuring `Sundowning' gets an almost Balearic makeover by Richard Norris which flows perfectly from `Silver River', featuring B.J. Cole, which has been turned into awe-inspiring ambient Americana by the Indianapolis collective Dawn Chorus And The Infallible Sea. The two new tracks, despite sharing a common theme with the album in terms of their sunset-related titles, signal a change in musical mood. Both are much more propulsive and driving, inspired by Mark's recent live shows which he has played as a trio with bassist Dean Roby and drummer Chris Smith. In fact, adding the title track to his live set finally brought it to life after 20 long years. Yellow 10" vinyl!

Specimen Records will kick off with "Zero Plague" January 2024 after a long hiatus from 2022 through to 2024. Specimen are now proud to present such a prolific artist as MANASYt whose level production has reached so many labels, along with extensive Dj work throughout Europe.

Zero Plague - another neurovision broadcast by replicant agent MANASYt. The opener - is a dystopian death march anthem, guided by a rolling snare, thick kick and throbbing bass. Arpeggios sounding like wasps on acid hover in the background, adding to the atmosphere of imminent danger!
Angellust - a hectic breathless industrial electro monster. Fuzzy distorted bass is driving us through a dark desolate territory. Complete with chaotic claps, minor synth stabs, a siren-like clinical pad and Petar's hopeless vocals (reminiscent of his days fronting metal bands).

Next is the Pestilent Mix for SNS Sensation new wave masterpiece "Mirror Radio". Sebastian is also the voice of UK duo Heartbreak (with synth wizard Ali Renault). Petar says : "It's a very impulsive work that sounds nothing like the original! Blending two different beats, mangled voices and psychotic off-kilter leads. Total madness."

First on the flip is the Novichok Mix for Poladroid. Petar and Vadim go way back to Roulette Rekordz in 2003, so this colab is natural, to say the least. It's the only time where the tempo slows down a bit on this EP. Bubbling worm-like bass, metallic percussion, cold windy pads and a classic electro lead take you on a journey to a soulless barren planet.

At last "In Deep Tongues". A heady schizophrenic exercise. A commanding beat, a grotesque polka bass followed by a paranoid synth lead pull you through a darkened maze with no exit. Underwater gurgles and fearsome corroded effects fill the air, no escape!

After 20 years, MANASYt hasn't slowed down or mellowed his intense immoderate sound one bit! And "Zero Plague" is undoubtedly a true testament to that!

He is an artist who couldn't care less about trends or hype, and whose main driving forces authenticate passion for this genre. Some of his tunes resemble future horror movie soundtrack, others a visit to a mental clinic, but most sound like what hostile aliens would listen to while attacking Earth.

Bulgarian dark mastermind Petar Tassev Manayst has been rocking his brand of Nuroelktro since 2003. He is responsible for a vast array of menacing titles on labels such as Touching' Bass, Kommando 6, Musar, and the infamous Bunker, along with 40 others.
MANASYt is currently based in Xiamen, China.

One of his best albums from the mid-Sixties, Yusef Lateef's 1984 is a truly experimental work. With bassist Reggie Workman, pianist Mike Nock, and drummer James Black, it goes from the eight-minute title track that opens the album to the two-minute, angular modal ballad "Try Love." Reviewer Thom Jurek gave it four out of five stars in AllMusic, stating that "1984 certainly seems to be shaping up into one weird record.

The title is an experimental, noodling improv with Lateef moaning as if in mourning. But then with 'Soul Sister,' featuring Lateef's deep, bluesy, tenor blowing around a gorgeous lyric figure, and Mike Nock's stunningly beautiful soloing on 'Love Waltz,' the entire album moves in another direction, even if it isn't terribly focused. In all, a complex yet emotionally and musically rewarding effort by a master.”
