Mayhem formed in Oslo, Norway, in 1984 & is infamous as one of the early
Scandinavian purveyors of black metal, made even more legendary after the welldocumented murder of original Mayhem guitarist Euronymous in 1993. This live
album was recorded at a performance at the Rainbow Club in Milan, Italy in
November 1998. The line- up features the returning early Mayhem vocalist
Maniac, plus Hellhammer on drums, Necrobutcher on bass & Blasphemer on
guitar. The show also featured a guest appearance by now- current Mayhem
vocalist Attila Csihar on the track 'From The Dark Past'.
With its well captured sound & the noticeably stunning drum work of Hellhammer,
the band themselves considered this worthy of being labelled an official release,
as Mayhem storm through a strong set full of classics from old releases
'Deathcrush' & 'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas', to the post- Euronymous
compositions as featured on 'Wolf's Lair Abyss'. Expect nothing but dark &
chaotic black metal carnage.

“Toisten Todellisuus” compiles two 7”s by Helsinki, Finland’s YLEISET SYYT: their self-titled EP, originally released in 2019, and 2021’s “Umpikujamekanismi”. Despite members playing in well-known underground Finnish bands like KOHTI TUHOA and FORESEEN, YLEISET SYYT has flown under the radar in the Anglophone world, with only a small fraction of their records’ tiny pressings making it outside Finland. Fortunately for you, the hardcore fanatics at Sorry State and La Vida Es Un Mus have our ears to the ground, and we agreed that a band this killer deserves a much wider audience. YLEISET SYYT’s sound is both blistering and anthemic, moving nimbly from full-throttle rippers like “Hygieeninen Ruumis” to tracks like “Hyväntekijä” and “Luovan Keskiluokan Takapihalla,” whose big chorus hooks could have anchored a Riot City or No Future A-side. The combination of ferocious performances and songwriting chops might remind you of older Finnish bands like LAMA, MELLAKKA, and APPENDIX, but MINOR THREAT, THE FIX, and NECROS are equally apt comparisons. TRINITAS ist die unheilige Allianz der Drei, die den alten Geist des Black Metal huldigen. Die Mitglieder sind Vargher (Gitarren, Bass, zusätzliche Vocals), Tormentor (Drums) und Azathoth (Necromantical Screams, Lyrics). Die Idee zu TRINITAS kam im Jahr 2012 auf. Alle drei Mitglieder kannten sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits seit einigen Jahren durch ihre anderen Bandaktivitäten. Von Anfang an war klar, dass TRINITAS eine Hommage an die Black Metal Bewegung der frühen 90er Jahre sein sollte. Daher ist die Musik roh und in gewisser Weise primitiv - ein bewusster Gegenpol zu dem, was man heute als Black Metal bezeichnet. Es gibt nichts Progressives in der Musik von TRINITAS und die Texte handeln nur vom Tod und dem Teufel - so wie es damals sein sollte. Eine Hommage an eine Zeit, in der Black Metal mehr war als nur Musik.

Es dauerte bis 2018, als die ersten drei Songs aufgenommen wurden. Sie wurden auf der selbstbetitelten MCD und MLP über das deutsche Label War Anthem Records im Jahr 2019 veröffentlicht. 2021 kamen Azathoth auf die Idee, ein erstes Full-Length-Album aufzunehmen. Innerhalb von drei Wochen komponierte Vargher neun Songs für das Album. Kurze Zeit später vereinbarte die Band eine Kooperation mit dem deutschen Label Vàn Records, um das Debütalbum zu veröffentlichen, das den Titel Total Heresy tragen wird. Es wurde in mehreren Studios in Schweden, den Niederlanden und Deutschland aufgenommen.

Thou Art Lord is one of the early influential Greek acts to fly the flag for the much
respected & distinguishable Hellenic style of black metal; often raw & chaotic yet
also infused with a degree of melody & underlying atmospherics. Comprising
primarily of "Necromayhem" - aka Sakis Tolis of black metal gods Rotting Christ &
"Magus Wampyr Daoloth" from the also legendary Necromantia, along with
"Gothmog" on vocals, Thou Art Lord first entered the scene with the 'The Cult Of
The Horned One' demo in 1993, showcasing a style of black metal standing
proudly among the "second wave" black metal acts of the time & including
influences from their own respective bands.'Apollyon' was Thou Art Lord's second
studio album & was originally released in 1996. A fine continuation of the
groundwork laid on the band's 1994 debut, 'Eosforos', 'Apollyon' featured a slightly
more refined studio sound, whilst keeping the often chaotic "attack" elements to
the compositions alongside slower & mid- tempo sections. 'Apollyon' also
featured an injection of thrash metal styled riffing among the black metal, along
with the returning keyboard presence, draping sections in an eerie layer of
darkness & including more classically arranged type interludes.

Treviso, Italy-based two piece Kill Your Boyfriend will release their fourth album 'Voodoo' on October 14th via Sister 9 Recordings (Europe), Little Cloud Records (North America) and Shyrec (Itay). A frantic and hypnothising bacchanalia of Psych & Industrial tinged soundwaves, the new album is a collection of reverb laden necromantic charms, summoning the souls and bones of the greats in the Rock & Roll pantheon of the 1950s. The duo delivers such glittery dark enchantment via 7 hoodoo hymns, travelling with a crumbling, ghostly and magically whizzing Rocket 88, in the company of Marie Laveau and madame Lalaurie. It's a relentless whirl of Voodoo-Psych, Industrial-Billy, Electro-GrisGris, which you can dance to. The new LP follows 'Killadelica', where Kill Your Boyfriend had refined their debut signature sound, bridging the gap between the semi-obscure but hauntingly fascinating tradition of Veneto's Post-Punk (Death In Venice, Evabraun, Pyramids, etc.) and contemporary Psych-Nouveau. With 'Voodoo', Matteo Scarpa and Antonio Angeli, explore new genres and expand the sonic borders, without losing their original intent. They replace the synth bass with a bass-guitar, adding more fluidity and weight to a renewed and punchier rhythmic section. Electronic and acoustic percussion are fuller and heavier, and the band's new stomp-machine is a hyper-convulsive version of the saturated Rock & Roll and R&B drumming, from the cheap garage studios of 1950s indie labels. Sida A is the most Rock & Roll of the two, and it is inspired by Michael Ventura's essay "Hear that Long Snake Moan", which brought forward the idea that "the Voodoo rite of possession by the god became the standard of American performance in Rock’n’Roll" where the performers "let themselves be possessed not by any god they could name but by the spirit they felt in the music”. Each song invokes one or a set of the lost souls of the Rock & Roll era, with 'The Day The Music Died' referring to the infamous 3rd of February 1959. Side B descends deeper into the magic swamps of Creole magic, with music taking on a much more liturgical function, conjuring shamanic possessions via extra layers of tribal percussion. The band says of side B: "we see it as a one long ritualistic descent into a psychedelic underworld made of echoing voices, claustrophobic spaces populated by lost souls, enchanters and witchdoctors."

Forged in Hell’s Fire, November 2018 Singapore, by SHYAITHAN – Guitars (also from IMPIETY). The band at present consists of long time komrades HADES - Vocals (also from and founder of BATTLESTORM), ASURA – Guitars (also from and founder of DEUS EX MACHINA), CRYPTOR – Bass (ex-founding member of DEMISOR) and lastly DIZAZTER on Drums (also from IMPIETY/ DEPRAVITY). XUL ANTICHRISTO from INFERNAL EXECRATOR held Vocal duties at the very beginning, but had to leave after the first EP recording due to his tight schedule (work commitment). DEVOUROR defines it’s sonic wrath arrogantly as ‘Bestial Deathcult Warfare’ with late 80s/early 90s influence from Possessed, Sarcofago, Necrovore, Blasphemy, Death, Sodom. With this being said, DEVOUROR is Not a project of sorts, but a brutal 5 Beast Blackened Metal of Death Squadron that scoffs, hacks and slays the rest of mediocre rubbish that currently saturates the underground. Obscure congregation SPECTRUM MORTIS was formed in somber MMXV and under the sign of Baal.
