Bitterviper is an all-new configuration of individuals and intent. Nikos Veliotis (cello), Taku Unami (synthesizer), Sarah Hennies (percussion) and David Grubbs (piano, guitars) have all participated - solo and as collaborators - in some of the most striking avant music-making of the past couple of decades. Mission is the title track of the recently released third studio album from the internationally acclaimed roots reggae chanter Afrikan Simba. Originally hailing from Nigeria & residing in East London, Afrikan Simba is well established in the roots reggae world, known for his conscious, spiritual, and uplifting lyrics. With a career spanning several decades, Afrikan Simba has worked with legendary sound systems like Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti, and Channel One as well as artists like Luciano, Nereus Joseph, Little John, Earl Sixteen & many more, performing at countless shows & festivals across the globe.

Mission 7" is produced by Mercury nominated producer Patrick Williamson in collaboration with Kris Kemist of Reality Shock Records, who has been working closely with Simba for over 20 years. The song features Backing vocals by Indra & brass by Tribuman. On the flip side of the 7" is a heavyweight dub version mixed by Kris Kemist at Reality Shock Studio.

Subconsciousology is a full reworking of Dot Allison's 2023's Consciousology, by producer Lomond Campbell, who, as the title suggests, has made it deeper, darker and dancier. Whereas the original album was all ornate avant-garde folk and psychedelic explorations, this new take is as hard-hitting as it is heavenly, as beat-driven as it is beautiful, and crucially it finds Dot re-embracing the electronic music with which she first made her name in One Dove. "I love that Lomond has brought a rich musicality and has created wild universes around the elements he has chosen to retain in the various songs," adds Dot. "It reminds me of working with Andrew Weatherall in a way, where the mixes were bold and reinventive departures. "The whole concept of the original record is about interconnectivity and the electromagnetic aspects to consciousness, so the remixed version is like a rainbow diffracted from a beam of light." Gone With Golson was originally released in 1959 and is saxophonist Benny Golson’s fifth album. A great example of the Hard Bop genre, the album includes 4 Golson compositions, plus “Staccato Swing” by Ray Bryant, who plays on the album, and the jazz standard “Autumn Leaves”. This new edition of the album is released as part of the OJC Series on 180-gram vinyl pressed at RTI with all-analog mastering from the original tapes at Cohearent Audio and a Stoughton Tip-On Jacket.

Das Album folgt auf ihr gefeiertes ,Sun Racket" aus dem Jahr 2020, ein berauschendes Werk voller harter und zarter Geschichten, gespickt mit surrealen Bildern. Das neue Album wurde von Kristin Hersh im Stable Sound Studio von Steve Rizzo in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, produziert und ist eine Sammlung von Schnipseln aus dem täglichen Leben - man denke an die Short Cuts von Raymond Carver, belauschte Gespräche, erzählte Begebenheiten und treffende Einzeiler, die alle zusammengefügt wurden, um die Zeit zu illustrieren, in dieser sie langsam heranreiften, gespickt mit dem Elan und der Kraft der Original Muses. "Drugstore Drastic" ist ein Selbstgespräch am Straßenrand auf dem Weg zu einem verlockenden Rendezvous. All diese Songs wurden an diesen beiden leuchtenden Orten geschrieben, was unserem Sounddesign half, sich selbst zu finden."

Between The Seed And The Timber is a cycle of six songs exploring ritual and mystical aspects of the modern era. At times both noir and psychedelic, they evoke a strong sense of nostalgia for a disappearing age. In contrast to industrial music’s dystopian semiotics, Jas Shaw challenges us to hear sounds inspired by machinery, electricity and mechanisation in a new light.

“I made the synth parts for a Swans gig,” says Shaw. “As SMD we’d supported Swans. James was away doing some production but I didn’t want to pass it up, so I offered to open solo. It turned out the gig was sooner than expected so I made all these synth things to do live.”

Shaw put the tracks to one side and forgot about them, only returning to them years later. “You know when you’ve changed as a person and you listen back to something from a different angle? I suddenly could hear what I had been after. It reminded me of experiences I’d had at Swans gigs. I wanted to achieve that energy and charge.”

Dubbing techniques are crucial to the sound of the record. “I set up a few synths on a table and had my mixer running loads of auxes back into the desk so it was all on the edge of feeding back. Then I realised that if I put a mic into the desk I’d have an extra feedback route. I found a setting where I could get it to build when I pointed the mic at the monitors but then turning it away you could put the brakes on the regen.”

Between The Seed And The Timber is Jas Shaw’s inaugural release for the London based, Kindred-affiliated TEETH label. TEETH is rooted in a reverence for texture, space, and sonic decay - amplifying experimental sounds that blend dreamlike melodies with weathered landscapes. Each release informs the next, with every track as vital as the last to complete the whole set.

Orchestrated by Jojo Mathiszig-Lee, founder of London’s Kindred, the label celebrates like-minded talent from the community, providing a platform for transgressing music.

The Nicky Newarkers were a short-lived—but now legendary—soul‑dance group from Newark, New Jersey, most active in the mid‑1970s. They’re known primarily for their hard‑to‑find 45 rpm single released on Mercury Records from 1976, featuring these two songs “Woman” and “Leave Me Or Love Me” both produced by Cuban‑American Jesus Alvarez with Jerry Ross.
The original Mercury pressings are super rare and highly coveted on the Northern soul and soul‑dance scene on the strength of the highly in demand “Woman”

One month after releasing “Vitalogy” , Pearl Jam performed ten songs on a radio show hosted by Eddie Vedder on January 8th, 1995 in a Seattle home-studio. This recordings was also the live debut for their new drummer Jack Irons, one of the original found- ing members of Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Producer and sound artist Massi NPL has spent close to a decade honing his craft as a producer with an impressive growing list of accolades that have seen him try his hand at everything from scoring award winning video games and theatre productions at the Zurich theater to DJ at events and radio stations around the globe.
While the producer’s output may be slim it is considered and precise. His new Fragments EP is a deeply personal project that is the product of years of work.
These select 3 pieces are crafted from a series of field recordings spanning 3 cities that have shaped much of the producers life. These ambient club adjacent works are equally promising at decibel sound system shaking volumes as they are within tucked away headphone and home listening environments. They exude expansive soundscapes, featuring a rich array of washed out synth backdrops and percussions.

Free Metal. Dieser letzte Batzen elektrifizierender Instrumentalstücke wurde live in der Inselumgebung des Ocean Sound Studios aufgenommen, einer hölzernen Scheune mit Grasdach am Rand des norwegischen Meers. Dort konnte das HEDVIG MOLLESTAD TRIO vor dem Frühstück im eiskalten Wasser schwimmen und mitten in der Aufnahme den Blick schweifen lassen. Es ist keine Überraschung, das solch weiten Ausblicke zu epischen Konzepten führen, so dass der erste Track ,Sing, Goddess" seinen Namen aus der ersten Zeile von Homers ,Ilias" erhält. Inspiriert vom weiten Himmel sind ,Shawshank" und ,Ghrá Rúnda" mehr nach innen gerichtet und baden im kontrollierten Feedback. Following their rattling 45 Cry / I’ll Be There Now and the wiry full-length My Mother Was a Friend of an Enemy of the People, Blurt returns to All City with Mecanno Giraffe - a new 12" capturing Ted Milton’s band of beat-punk absurdists in full, surreal stride.

The A-side delivers the title track: Mecanno Giraffe, a spiky, off-kilter groove threaded with Milton’s unmistakable bark, rhythmic sax blurts, and angular momentum that feels both mechanical and oddly animal. It’s Blurt as alwaya: driving, dry-witted, and defiantly out of sync with any prevailing trends.

On the flip, Milton shifts gear with a number of spoken word pieces. Stripped bare, intimate, incantatory. More Artaud than Allen, these pieces reveal another facet of Blurt’s singular frontman, echoing threads found in recent interviews tracing his ongoing collision of poetry, punk, and performance.

Third strike on the label and still no sign of softening. Mecanno Giraffe proves that Blurt still remains gloriously out of step, part animal, part machine!.

In the vibrant city of London, a talented French producer named Swimming Paul made his mark. While he had already spent several years producing music for others, Swimming Paul felt a strong calling to embark on his own creative project—one that would redefine the concept of dance music and infuse it with meaning.
Paul drew inspiration from the early days of house music, recognizing it as more than just a genre. It represented a cultural movement that united people from diverse backgrounds. Motivated by this spirit, Swimming Paul sought to create music that not only made people dance but also brought them together and conveyed powerful messages.
With each composition, Paul approached his work as an artist would approach a blank canvas. He poured his heart and soul into every beat, melody, and rhythm, meticulously crafting a sound that blended elements from various genres while bearing his own unique touch. His music pulsated with the infectious energy of a crowded dance floor, yet it also possessed the ability to evoke deep emotions and provoke introspection.
