Formed in the mid-eighties Midlands, they are still not only eating pop but spewing it up in a chaos of thrilling ideas on new album ‘Delete Everything’. Their eighth record sees them further refine, define and deconstruct their melange of industrial rock, loop da loop techno, gonzoid hip hop and punk rock into a series of captivating sci-fi anthems. The band still look and sound like they have stepped out the pages of 2000 AD magazine with Graham Crabb and Mary Byker trading vocals like bouncing Duracell bunnies to the itching, compulsive beats surrounding them. Davey Bennett brings the bottom end and Cliff Hewitt plays the beats whilst Adam Mole delivers guitar aggro and sometimes waves his keyboard around with a delinquent glee. Still creative, still in a world of their own Pop Will Eat Itself have deleted everything and started all over again.

DEADLETTER frontman Zac Lawrence’s latest solo venture hones in on the songwriter’s love of the contemporary folk scene of the 60s. Though not necessarily a conventional “Folk” sound, the acoustic guitar led songs intertwine the singer’s passion for lyricism and literacy with heart-string tugging melodies and arrangements. With the first single from this project expected in the summer of 2025, he brings a new band together made up of Misty Miller on vocal duties, Blossom Caldarone (English Teacher) on Cello, and Nathan Pigott (also of DEADLETTER) on clarinet. Antithetical to what we know from him as the frontman of the aforementioned, expect laid back, fingerpicked numbers that take you anywhere from Hamburg’s most gruesome hotel, to him imagining himself as a fifty something looking back on a life that he didn’t live in the way that was intended.

If Punk culture and Aesthetics have a poet, it’s undoubtedly KŌ MACHIDA. Formed in Hakata, before moving to Tokyo in 1984 AKEBONOJIRUSHI were a six piece band who played a wild mix of New-Wave and Funk-Jazz elements condensed into unconventional Pop songs. Originally released on DIW in 1987 “Paradise Mambo” stands as a great example of pure 80’s Japanese post-modern sound.

At the dawn of the 80’s Osaka based band DENDÖ MARIONETTE were part of Japan’s legendary early Synth-Wave explosion. This essential album consists of their sole 7” release from 1981, plus a previously unreleased EP from 1982, plus lots of extra tracks from various demos. A double LP full of glorious, intoxicating, sounds from one of the most fascinating acts of the Japanese Post-Punk era.

Recorded and produced with the same crew as the previous one, Steve 'n' Seagulls have again found and torn down the limits of progressive bluegrass and newgrass. The album combines elements from genres that are hard to imagine together. Yet they meet and shake hands like old friends. Steve 'n' Seagulls' originals and some re-arranged classics form yet another interesting musical soup ready to be served on their The Dark Side of the Moo -tour around Europe in 2025.

This album is a slowly bubbling cauldron of eerie atmospheres and drugged-out sonics; amidst the ever-present haze of hashish and sulfur, it's by far one of the band's most authentically DOOM recordings. And at 47 minutes, the simmering slime MEPHISTOFELES here dole out so effortlessly sounds more like 47 hours, so ensnared by addiction you'll be.

Mit ihrem fünften Album kehrt das slowenische Trio Sirom zurück - und präsentiert ein klanglich wie thematisch weitreichendes Werk. In the Wind of Night... knüpft an das gefeierte The Liquified Throne of Simplicity (2022) an, geht aber neue Wege: melodischer, zugänglicher, ohne die hypnotische Tiefe und rhythmische Komplexität zu verlieren, die Sirom auszeichnen. Ana Kravanja, Iztok Koren und Samo Kutin verweben auf überlangen Tracks folkloristische Motive, dissonante Texturen und rituelle Klanglandschaften. Sie nutzen fast zwei Dutzend akustische Instrumente - viele davon selbst gebaut - und erschaffen so eine Musik, die sich jeder Kategorisierung entzieht. Die Stücke wirken wie Klangwanderungen durch imaginäre Landschaften, mal dicht und tranceartig, mal luftig und klar strukturiert. Das Album wurde live aufgenommen und spiegelt die kollektive Arbeitsweise der Band wider. Sirom bleiben dabei kompromisslos eigenständig - und sind heute eine der spannendsten Stimmen der europäischen Avant-Folk-Szene.

Supergrass kündigen die 20-Jahre-Jubiläumsausgabe von „Road to Rouen“ an, ihrem fünften Studioalbum,
das ursprünglich am 15. August 2005 erschien und Platz 9 der britischen Top 10 erreichte. Der Titel
bezieht sich sowohl auf die französische Stadt, in der es aufgenommen wurde, als auch auf das 1978er
Album „Road to Ruin“ der Ramones. Dieses Album markierte eine nachdenklichere Phase für die Band
und enthielt längere, orchestralere Kompositionen.
Es erntete viel Lob von Kritikern und erhielt 4- und 5-Sterne-Rezensionen von Publikationen wie The
Guardian, Mojo und Uncut. Das Album enthält die Singles „Low C“, „Fin“ und den Fan-Favoriten „St
Petersburg“, einen fesselnden und wunderschönen Track mit einem Hauch von John Lennons Einfluss. Es
ist wohl ihr persönlichstes Album und markierte eine Abkehr vom typischen, optimistischen Sound von
Supergrass. Diese neue, sanfte und introspektive Ausrichtung machte das gesamte Album zu einem Erfolg
bei den Kritikern. Zur Feier des 20-jährigen Jubiläums veröffentlichen wir eine erweiterte Neuauflage von
„Road to Rouen“ mit bisher unveröffentlichten Live- und Studioaufnahmen. Das Album wurde für 2025
komplett neu gemastert. Es erscheint am 3. Oktober als Gatefold-Doppelalbum in Petrol und Forest Green
mit bedruckten Innenhüllen und als Doppel-CD-Digisleeve, beide Formate mit einem 16-seitigen Booklet
mit Linernotes von Mark Radcliffe.

In den 1970er Jahren unternahm der experimentierfreudige Vibrafonist und Marimba-Spieler Bobby Hutcherson bei Blue Note einige Ausflüge in kommerziellere Gefilde. Ein absoluter Höhepunkt dieser Schaffensphase war das 1975 entstandene Album “Montara”. Angetrieben von einer exzellent besetzten Band mit
sechs Perkussionisten bietet Hutcherson darauf eine berauschende Mischung aus Latin Jazz und FusionGrooves, die vor guter Laune nur so überschäumt

Erstmalig überhaupt auf Vinyl erhältlich: "Blue Collar Sons", das zweite Album der schwedischen Streetpunker "City Saints"! 2012 gegründet machten sich die Ex-Mitglieder von Perkele und Chillihounds mit ihrer neuen Band schnell einen Namen in der Streetpunk/Oi-Szene mit ihrem explosiven Mix aus High-Energy-Punkrock, Oi! und von Bands wie Mötley Crew inspirierten R'N'R-Touch. Ihr Debüt "Kicking ass for the working class" ist mittlerweile zurecht ein Klassiker. Der nur ein Jahr später veröffentlichte Nachfolger "Blue Collar Sons" bewies mit Songs wie "Hooligan", "Punk, Rock & Oi!" oder "Working Class Rockers", dass die Göteburger ein besonderes Händchen für explosive Rough'n'Tough Hymnen haben, die sofort zünden! "The (City) Saints come marching in" war und ist kein leeres Versprechen! Nach mittlerweile 6 veröffentlichten Alben und ihrem erst vor ein paar Monaten veröffentlichten letztem Werk "EXPLOSIV!" darf man die City Saints getrost zu eine der großartigsten, schwedischen Streetpunk'n'Roll Bands bezeichnen!
