Formed as The Age in the late 1960s in the gritty north London neighbourhoods of Wood Green and Tottenham, teen Glam band Hello signed to Bell Records after being auditioned at home by Argent’s lead singer Russ Ballard, the concept being that the band would be supplied with original material by former Zombies manager, David Blaylock, a sure-fire formula that gave them strong overseas followings. This essential compilation gathers the best of the singles they cut for Bell, as well as more obscure rarities, the resulting picture capturing the group in all their Glam Rock glory, from prime beginnings to bittersweet end.

Am 4. November veröffentlicht PJ Harvey eine Sammlung von B-Seiten, Demos und Raritäten.

«The Rarities» ist eine Zusammenstellung von Fan-Favourites, Raritäten und bisher unveröffentlichten Songs, die alle von Mariah selbst handverlesen wurden. Auf der zweiten CD gibt es als Zugabe die noch nie zuvor in voller Länge veröffentlichte Audioaufnahme von «Live at the Tokyo Dome», Mariahs erstem Konzertauftritt in Japan, welcher anlässlich ihrer Daydream-Welttournee 1996 stattfand

Anschließend an den Erfolg von The Turning Year, Roger Enos Solo-Debütalbum für die Deutsche Grammophon, im April 2022, fokussierte er sich weiter darauf, sein Repertoire zu erweitern und neu zu erfinden.
Das Ergebnis war eine Mischung aus brillianten Überarbeitungen und bisher unveröffentlichten Juwelen aus den Album-Sessions, die in Form von drei EPs veröffentlicht wurden. Rarities fasst nun die EPs des Komponisten, Piano, Bells und Quartets, in einer Vinyl zusammen und ergänzt das komplette Material mit dem brandneuen Bonustrack „Moving Chords“.

Before becoming World champion of acrobatic flight, Mr Marvin (aka Sasha Marvin) has been one of the most appreciate italian deep house producer and DJ. Let’s only, within the many, remind Sacro Cosmico, V.F.R. and Virtualmismo produced with Christian Horbostel.
The same joyful of his acrobatic flights is present in the variety of sounds that go throughout the four original versions all included in this new precious re-release of the 1991 Entity by Mr. Marvin. In this case we must say "fly to buy it".

Round number four on the Frank Music Rarities series: Music that deserves being cut on a platter. "Come Closer" may sound like a long-lost Chicago House record from the late 80's but it's new. Jakob Mäder rides on a melody you've never heard before, still all about the love. On the flip you shall find two songs out of Iron Curtis' & Johannes Albert's current "Moon III" album. Oui madame, the french touch arrives via "Enjoy" and a little pop music shines through "Something Unique" featuring Indie rockets Zoot Woman on vocal duties.

15 Heavy Funk Rarities Presented As A Double Gatefold LP. Cold Heat is Eothen “Egon” Alapatt’s a follow-up to the famous Funky 16 Corners set he curated in the early 2000s. And like that one, Cold Heat is overflowing with great bits that had barely (or never) been heard by the rest of the world at large. Egon went through a range of rare singles, masters, and demos and came up with tunes that burn with a brightness that's undeniable. The grooves are all on the harder end of the James Brown Funky People side of the spectrum and some tracks are by names that finally got their due here, thanks to Egon, Now-Again, and some of the other funky forces doing the good work over the years.

Rocksteady Disco returns with a remix record for the first time since 2018, with new versions from Igor B, Blair French, Dazzle Drums, and Eddie Logix. The whole EP takes heavy inspiration from Pan-African sounds, with Ontario-based Igor B leading the release with a drum and sub bass heavy dance floor reimagining of Moonlighter’s iconic “Give Us Rain (Ah Mila)”. Blair French picks up where Igor left off, channeling his inner King Sunny Ade for his remix of Sol Power All-Star’s “Every Time You Move”. He taps in Jazzanova’s Paul Randolph for electric bass duties, dubs out Frank Martin’s (Elcados, Shina Peters, Tyna Onwudiwem, and many more) guitar, and extends DC-based Besufekad Tadesse’s baritone sax solo for afro dance floor bliss. The flip side goes even deeper, with Tokyo-based Dazzle Drums giving Eddie Logix’s “Sunday Palaver” the hi-fi Afro Tech treatment, perfect for those dingy after hours parties. The release closes with Eddie Logix’s reinterpretation of Nois Land’s cult classic “Big Kahuna”, reimagining it in a balearic-esque disco-not-disco mid-tempo stomper that highlights Peter Croce’s electric guitar performance.

Funky is On by Funky Family, was never a popular commercial hit, but more an high valued rarity. Produced by Nicola Nicolosi from Nicolosi Family this tune represents a real example of proto-house. Since it first release in 1984, it became a Chicago classic and always an hot mix for most sophisticated Italo Disco Lovers.

Austin-based DJ and producer riding a tide of success, dj poolboi, makes his return to Shall Not Fade's Classic Cuts with the sequel to his Rarities EP which kicked off the series. Like its first installment, Vol. 2 is a blissful and warm listen with tinges of party experimentation set to get feet moving.

Easing in with fuzzy, crackling chords and house rhythms, 'i know you tried' is a stylish start to the record. It's straight lo-fi house sound palette fades into buoyant pads and a trance-like use of spaced out vocals in 'with you', which is full of texture and production skill.

'yesterday' uses stunning organic instrumentation and hyper-glitched vocal samples to great effect, to which the final track 'early you' feels like the perfect match with similar muted and melancholy chords. The B-side comes to an end with the romantic atmosphere this track builds.

Following on from the successful ‘An Idiot Prayer’ live album and livestream event released this year, Nick Cave Productions & BMG announce B-SIDES & RARITIES PART I & II to be released internationally on 22nd October 2021.

B-SIDES & RARITIES PART II was compiled by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis and features 27 tracks from “Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!” in 2006 to 2019s “Ghosteen”. Also features 19 rare and unreleased tracks including first recordings of ‘Skeleton Tree’, ‘Girl in Amber’, ‘Bright Horses’ and ‘Waiting for You’.
