,Pneuma" ist ein Zyklus von acht Kompositionen des Kontrabassisten und Komponisten Henry Fraser, erschienen bei Kou Records, der sich mit Atem, Resonanz und der sich wandelnden Beziehung zwischen Form und Improvisation auseinandersetzt. Fraser betrachtet seine Solopraktik als eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Instrument selbst und arbeitet direkt mit der Materialität und den akustischen Eigenschaften des Kontrabasses, sodass Klang, Raum und Struktur durch tiefes Zuhören gemeinsam entstehen können. Aufgenommen, abgemischt und koproduziert von Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Thurston Moore) und Ben Greenberg (Uniform, Marc Ribot), erweitert das Album Frasers bisherige Solosprache durch ein erweitertes melodisches Register, vielschichtige Texturen und sorgfältig gestaltete Studioeingriffe. Ausgehend von sowohl vorgefertigten Motiven als auch neu improvisiertem Material entfaltet sich ,Pneuma" in einer Reihe prägnanter Sätze, von denen jeder einer eigenständigen rhythmischen oder harmonischen Idee Gestalt verleiht und gleichzeitig zu einer größeren, zusammenhängenden Form beiträgt. Die Aufnahme, bei der der Schwerpunkt auf natürlicher Dynamik und räumlichen Details liegt, bewahrt die volle physische Präsenz des Instruments und rückt die Resonanz, die Obertöne und die leisen Mikrogesten des Basses in den Vordergrund. Bestimmte Stücke bestehen aus mehreren übereinandergelegten Darbietungen, was den Umfang und den Ausdrucksbereich der Musik dramatisch erweitert. Das Ergebnis ist ein intimes und zugleich immersives Hörerlebnis - akustische Musik, die sich gleichzeitig greifbar und weitreichend anfühlt. ,Pneuma" dokumentiert Fraser in einem Moment künstlerischer Klarheit und bekräftigt sein Bekenntnis zu prozessorientierter Komposition und aufmerksamer Klangpraxis.

In Lande’s words: “It’s a daydreaming song about wanting a life of excitement and adventure rather than a dull and ordinary life - one where people underestimate you and belittle you. And where you’re forced to buy into capitalism and become a pathetic, losing player in a game that you hate. I’d rather escape and live in a queer space fantasy and be brave.”

It is with both pride and excitement that we announce the reissue of ‘House Without A View’, the out-of-print second album by singer-songwriter Lande Hekt – the first of a three-part reissue series on Circuitry, with ‘Going To Hell’ and ‘Gigantic Disappointment’ (first time physically) to follow in the coming months.

With a new album ‘Lucky Now’ released on Tapete in January, supported by an extensive spring UK tour (dates below), Lande’s contemporary twist on the classic C86 indie sound - with a queer feminist punk identity lyrically explicit throughout – is drawing in an ever-growing audience of devotees, such is the consistent quality of her songwriting, and the personality within.

The opening track of the album is ‘Half With You’ which “is about growing into yourself as a queer person, and enjoying who you are after not enjoying it for so long,” says Lande. ‘Cut My Hair’ is about how her relationship with her gender has changed over the last few years, becoming more comfortable in herself and understanding more about what makes her happy. “It’s also about how easy it is to not talk to people when you’re struggling, which is something I did for a long time,” admits Lande.

The title track of ‘House Without a View’ deals with childhood trauma and how events of our formative years “affect us so much into our adult lives and are intrinsic to our personalities and the way we cope (or don’t) with life and relationships,” says Lande. Although there’s darkness and sadness within the record, there’s also some shining beacons of positivity and a light-hearted side, albeit with a side of frustration. ‘Lola’ was written about Lande’s cat shortly after she came to live with her and her girlfriend. “She’s the first pet I’ve ever had and I wasn’t quite ready for how hard it would be to not be able to verbally communicate with her. I worried constantly that she was depressed because all she did was sleep, but my girlfriend assured me that that was regular cat behaviour.”

Mit "Classics Vol. 1" (CV1) veröffentlichen Modeselektor eine besondere Edition, die wie ein musikalischer Lebenslauf funktioniert. CV steht nicht zufällig für Curriculum Vitae. Eigentlich wollten Szary und Gernot alte Tracks aus ihren ersten beiden Alben "Hello Mom!" und "Happy Birthday!" neu aufnehmen. Doch was als Rekonstruktion begann, verwandelte sich fast vollständig in etwas Neues. Eine frische Sammlung von Stücken, die den Geist ihrer frühen Releases atmet, ohne sie einfach zu kopieren. Das Duo blickt zurück und erschafft dabei Zukunft. Tracks wie "KILL BILL Vol.4", "Edgar" und andere Albentitel dienten als Ausgangsmaterial, wurden zig mal auseinander und wieder zusammengebaut, neu interpretiert und dann doch in den meisten Fällen nur als abstrakte Inspiration verwendet. Das Ergebnis ist eine Rückschau, die sich emanzipiert hat. Ein mutiges Experiment, ein gescheiterter Versuch im allerbesten Sinne.

Seguim Records returns with its fourth release, SEGUIM004, presenting “Execute EP” by rising Argentinian talent Guile.

Execute EP navigates the space where tech-house precision meets progressive feeling, blending evolving textures with hypnotic energy. Across four tracks, Guile delivers a cohesive journey designed for long, club-focused nights.

The A side opens with “Execute”, the title track of the EP, a finely crafted cut driven by modulating basslines, acid-tinged riffs, and crispy drums. It’s followed by “Tren”, a deeper and more hypnotic track where chopped vocals and rolling rhythms guide the listener through an immersive journey.

On the B side, “Double U” sets the tone with a progressive edge, as stabs and melodic phrases carefully interplay, leaving space for each element to breathe while steadily building momentum. The EP closes with “Recycled”, a high-energy track characterized by its catchy melody and uplifting atmosphere, bringing the journey to a powerful conclusion.

Since last year's EP “rhyme09,” a quiet storm has been brewing around the label. This release is not only long overdue, but Vienna is also home to numerous new talents as DJs and producers. The label boss makes the selection here and kicks off this release with a completely crazy track that is unlike anything else out there. There is virtually nothing else like it, making this track unique with its bassline, offset kick drum, and acid grooves. The second tune on the A Side comes from Fabiano Jose’, a well-known DJ in Vienna who, with his brand “Merkwürdig” has been an important player in the local party scene for several years. A catchy tech house tune, “step in” if you can!

The first tune on the B Side is a collaboration between ZentaSkai, well known for his label MASK Berlin, and Thomas Grün, also a long-time DJ and producer in Vienna who releases house and tech house tunes also on his own label “Untitled100 records”.

With Manu Script on B2, we have a debut here. With his great taste as a DJ and producer, he delivers a powerful groove. Another true Party stepper! Be ready...

Mutant Volt emerges from the depths of the underworld with Bona Vista, a six track EP built from unreleased DAT recordings made during the early 90s. Drawn from a vast archive, much of the material had been long forgotten, written at a time when electronic music moved fast and rarely looked back.

Mutant Volt is one of several aliases used by Dan Piu, whose roots sit firmly in early European rave and club culture. The name was originally used to explore a stripped, machine driven sound shaped by early trance structures and bleep influence. Aside from a single release on Superluminal in 2020, much of this material has remained unheard. Recorded on a hardware setup that has changed little since 1991, the tracks were made instinctively and left behind to gather dust.

Today the tracks carry a different kind of weight. What was once made quickly and left behind now feels immediate, proof that some music does not belong to the past, it simply arrives there first.

The games continue! LEGRAM VG links up with Rubber Ducky Records as four noble producers enter the arena for another round of sonic warfare. A-side sees Lyon local hot off the press - Kiss The Future firing swaggy bolts straight into the future with “Crack Crack Crack”, while Kitchen Plug keeps the hotline sizzling with bat-signal energy direct from The Batcave. Flip it and Swin rolls in heavy with the chunky weapon “That Will Be Nice”, before Palorim tosses a cosmic coin on “Heads or Tails”, sealing the round with an electro-tech-house bomb.
