About the album TEKHENU: Holistic, soundscape storyteller The Allegorist takes inspiration from the ancient world for her fifth studio album, set for release on her label Awaken Chronicles.

A sonic fable titled TEKHENU, it continues the trajectory that the Berlin-based electronic producer and sound-designer has been following since the beginning – conceptualising narrative-heavy LPs centered around mythical lands. Her new works depict a lost protagonist and her spiritual, inward search across ten enrapturing chapters.

The title of the LP is a nod to the towering monoliths by the ancient Egyptians. Known to most by their Greek-given name “obelisk”, they stand tall around the world and it’s their global dispersion that inspired The Allegorist for the title of the album, seeing it as an allegory of a common bond, a point of connection. Alles begann mit einer Gruppe von DJs und Beatmakern, allesamt inspiriert von den Techno- und House-Platten aus Detroit und Chicago und verbunden durch eine tiefe Leidenschaft - sowohl für UK Bass-Musik als auch US-Hiphop und 70’s Soul-Jazz. Diese Crew aus Zürich bündelte all diese Inspirationen und Einflüße zu einem Sound, den sie als B-Boy-House und Teknowsoul bezeichneten. Bereits die ersten Releases auf Drumpoet brachten den internationalen Durchbruch und Künstler wie Soultourist, Quarion, Cavalier, Dplay & Manuel Tur oder auch John Daly weckten weltweit großes Interesse in der Szene für elektronische Musik und hinterließen einen bleibenden Eindruck. Borgo Dora is a multiethnic neighborhood located in the centre of Torino. A perfect example of inclusion between different people from (mainly) the Mediterranean area and home to Porta Palazzo, the largest open-air market in Europe.

In 1991, a newly born studio located in the middle of the district guided by Biagio Puma decided to give birth to a dance lp called Teknoafro with the support of local Techno dj Bart Spinelli. The title almost speaks for itself, mixing the Italian "Afro" dj culture and the new Akai samplers with 909-driven Techno rhythms. The result was impressive, giving birth to a quite unique recording that reveals many aspects of the '90s Italian dance creativity and tapestry.
Dualismo Sound comes with a fully remastered selection of 6 tracks taken from the original lp.

Back in the washing machine for another high intensity Tekno wash cycle of gorgeous percussive mayhem with one more carefully selected EP from the vast Spiral Tribe repertoire. This time “Stormcore 2” from Crystal Distortion aka Simon Carter takes us on a high speed stroll with 4 tracks set at a solid 180bpm all throughout. Another masterful expose of early hardcore/tekno production techniques with endless layering and intertwining of percussive elements skillfully unfolding throughout long build ups of raw rhythmic intercourse. Aesthetically pioneering to say the least. Meticulously remastered down the street from Sound Metaphors at Manmade mastering.

Leks is back on legendary Vinyl Bleu with another bombastic tune !
