Italian jazz beat maestros Koralle & Yawuh team up for their first collab album, 'Primo Quarto'.

'Primo Quarto' is a record full of late-night tales about beats and jazz (you guessed it) and a musical friendship that manifested itself in an apartment building in Bologna after dark. Thirteen tracks were produced and mixed on the first floor (where Yawuh lives) and on the fourth floor (where Koralle’s studio is located). With the help of an A-list of local musicians (Matteo Magnaterra, Piergiorgio Perrella, Giovanni Tamburini, Gianluca Arcesilai), three MCs from the US (Anti Lilly, Tiff The Gift, Physical Graffiti), and producer friends Saib (Berlin), Phlocalyst (Luz), and Lorenzo Morresi (Milan).
“'Primo Quarto' is an Italian expression that refers to the first quarter of the moon,” Koralle and Yawuh explain. “The lunar phase when the moon is half illuminated and half in shadow. For us, this moment captures the emotional core of the album: a balance between light and dark, the seen and the hidden, clarity and mystery.”

CTMF covern The Saints! Featuring Nurse Julie am Lead-Gesang! Die schwarze Vinyl 7" ist limitiert auf 300 Stück! Nachdem Billy ,(I'm) Stranded" gekauft und 1977 The Saints als Vorgruppe von The Jam gesehen hatte, dachte er, dass es eine coole Idee wäre, in naher Zukunft ein paar ihrer Songs zu covern. Schnellvorlauf ins Jahr 2025. Während sie bei einem Mittagessen ihre Silberhochzeit feierten, meinte Billy zu seiner Frau: ,Vielleicht sollten wir ein paar Songs von The Saints covern." Mrs. Childish (die Bassistin von CTMF) nickte leicht und meinte: ,,(I'm) Stranded` und versuchen wir es mal mit ,Untitled`." Ein Aufnahmetag wurde ordnungsgemäß in Jim Rileys berühmten Ranscombe Studios (ein semiprofessionelles Studio am stinkenden Ufer des Flusses Medway) gebucht. Die Childishes, begleitet von The Wolf (Mitglied von The Skins), stellten ihre alten Kisten in einer Ecke auf, probten ein paar Mal schnell durch - um eine Vorstellung davon zu bekommen, wie die blöden Songs liefen - und Jims haarige Pranke (stell dir die Hand eines Werwolfs in einem Hammer-Horrorfilm aus den 60ern vor) drückte auf die Aufnahmetaste und voilà! Jetzt habt ihr genau diese 45er in euren Ohren. Da man klugerweise entschied, dass eine weibliche Stimme diesen beiden Charmeuren eine frische, glänzende Note verleihen würde, übernimmt Mrs. Childish den Gesang, während Billy auf den Hintergrundgesang degradiert wurde. So sieht's aus!

Der Wald im Pazifischen Nordwesten ist das Leitbild. ,Eternity's Pillars" ist nach der Fernsehsendung aus der Mitte der 1980er Jahre benannt, die von der Jazz-Visionärin und spirituellen Guruin Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda kreiert und moderiert wurde und sich auf ihren unerschütterlichen Glauben an die Fähigkeit der Musik konzentriert, spirituelle Transzendenz zu erreichen. ,Raise the Chalice" ist nach einem Schlachtruf benannt, den die Hardcore Legende des Nordwestens, Ron Guardipee, Mitte der 1990er Jahre oft ausstieß. ,Reverential" zollt denen, die vor uns mit den schwersten Lasten kamen, Respekt und lobt sie lautstark, wobei Musik und Kunst als Materialien für einen Antiphon dienen. Live recordings of Humble Pie featuring both Steve Marriott and Peter Frampton are rare. These seven tracks, recorded in excellent quality by the BBC, show Humble Pie in their element onstage. The setlist includes cover versions such as Four Day Creep, Hallelujah I Love Her So and I Walk On Gilded Splinters which were not included on any studio LP. Coach Party are poised to make their mark on 2025 and beyond with their new album ‘Caramel’, it is a melody packed, infectious record born from the shared experiences and unity of the bands four members: Jess Eastwood, Steph Norris, Guy Page and Joe Perry. In Mysterious Ways was John Foxx’s final album for Virgin Records and is now set for a 40th anniversary release - as a gatefold LP on light blue vinyl. This limited edition version includes the track ’Spin Away’ for the first time on vinyl. Full lyrics are included on the inner sleeve. Recorded at The Garden studios, the album includes some of John’s most uplifting and dreamlike material, including the singles ’Stars On Fire’ and ‘Enter The Angel’ and the slow burn of ‘Morning Glory’', ‘Enter The Angel II’, ’Stepping Softly’ and the title track.

The Selenites Band - Journey on Az Ma'ar Moon An Ethiofuturist odyssey With Journey on Az Ma'ar Moon, their third studio album, The Selenites Band continue their exploration of ethiojazz, deconstructing and reinventing it to project it towards the stars.
Conceived as a journey to an imaginary moon, each track becomes a stage in an interstellar narrative, where myths, ancestral rhythms and Afrofuturism intertwine.
Between heritage and experimentation, the group deploys a groove from elsewhere: a mystical, cinematographic and resolutely modern trance.

Switch is the tenth studio album by Dutch rock band Golden Earring, released in 1975 as the follow-up of the band's international
breakthrough album Moontan and their bona fide classic track Radar Love.

All tracks have been 24 bit/192 kHz remastered from the original master tapes.
Last but not least: the original IBC Studios master tapes of Switch reveal the legendary ’50 Hz roll off’ note.

On request of executive producer Freddy Haayen, the cutting engineer @ IBC was commissioned to cut all frequencies below 50 Hz,
which meant that a large chunk of low-end frequencies was eliminated from the final mixes during vinyl cutting.

So, for the very first time, on LP1 of this remastered issue,
Switch finally sounds as it was recorded and mixed – with all (full range) frequencies intact.

Switch (remastered & expanded) is available as a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on white coloured vinyl,
it's housed in a gatefold sleeve, 2 printed innersleeves and includes a lyric sheet.

Zum 100. Geburtstag von Peter Thomas erscheint erstmals eine umfassende Sammlung seiner Musik zur ZDF-Krimiserie DER KOMMISSAR (1969-1976). Die Serie gilt als Meilenstein deutscher Fernsehgeschichte - gesellschaftlich relevant, stilbildend und musikalisch überraschend. Thomas steuerte zu 22 Folgen Musik bei, die von klassischer Filmmusik über Beat und Soul bis hin zu experimentellen Soundcollagen reicht. Die LP/CD enthält erstmals veröffentlichte Titel, darunter Highlights wie "Du lebst in deiner Welt" (Daisy Door), das 1971 die Charts stürmte. Besonders spannend sind die Stücke aus den experimentellen Folgen unter Regie von Zbynek Brynych, in denen Thomas Volksmusik mit Pop und Rock kombinierte. Die Aufnahmen entstanden mit renommierten Studiomusikern wie Jan Hammer, Jiggs Whigham und Olaf Kübler.

ROTTEN, FOUL, DERANGED!

Around the end of the 1980s and the first years of the 1990s bands like PUNGENT STENCH, DISHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, DISASTROUS MURMUR or MIASMA made a name for themselves by putting out some classic albums. "Been Caught Buttering", "Changes" or "Expositionsprophylaxe" were records spawned by Austrian hordes which were globally hailed by devotees of Death Metal. As fertile a soil Austria once seemed to be, throughout the last 30 years not one single Death Metal album was put out that would match the quality of the pioneers.

Apparently, it took Brenton, an Australian settling in Vienna, to eventually put Austria on the map again. After having founded FESSUS with 3 other members in 2023, the quartet put out their first demo "Pilgrims of Morbidity" in the same year.

Now, two years after the very promising demo, FESSUS return with their first full-length. Cryptically entitled "Subcutaneous Tomb" the album's six lengthy songs stylistically continue where the demo left off. Whereas other bands focus on hyper-speed, over-technicality and brutality, FESSUS' brand of Death Metal is mostly played in moderate tempi with outbursts of speed and aggression scattered throughout the album. The songs are foremost characterized by memorable compositions and groove. Every song literally oozes with morbidity and conjures a dense macabre atmosphere. Brenton's vocals which are partly reminiscent of NECROPHAGIA's Killjoy are one of the highlights of the album. With his performance being equal parts versatile and deranged, Brenton spews vile bile and brimstone like not many lunatics before him. Although there are hints of other bands like AUTOPSY or PURTENANCE found on the album, FESSUS actually managed to come up with a sound that’s distinctly their own.

"Subcutaneous Tomb" is a perfectly produced album that those worshipping at the altar of morbid, rotten Death Metal can't afford to miss out on.

For over two decades, Dub Inc has been a cornerstone of the French-speaking reggae scene, embodying both power and authenticity. und markierte die Rückkehr der Berliner Band nach sieben Jahren mit einem frischen und modernen Sound.
Das Album kombiniert wie gewohnt Reggae, Dancehall, Hip-Hop und Pop zu einer abwechslungsreichen
Mischung, die sowohl tanzbar als auch eingängig ist. Man erkennt: Die Band hat sich menschlich und
musikalisch weiterentwickelt, jedoch ohne ihre Wurzeln und ihre Message zu verlieren.

Mit treibenden Rhythmen, präzisen Bläserarrangements und markanten Stimmen bietet SEEED eine Bandbreite von Songs, die sowohl energiegeladen als auch sehr tiefgründig sind.
