The new 012 series opens with “Waveform Studies”, a project that brings together fresh talents on the platform, merging their visions of bleep and hypnotic techno through an interplay of deep and raw frequencies. To launch the EP, label head Claudio PRC sets the tone with “Pulse”, a deep and immersive techno journey, followed by the haunting and mesmerizing soundscapes of “Vacuum” by French DJ and producer Eman. Next, Italian artist Riccardo De Polo contributes “Aseptic”, a raw, hypnotic, and minimalistic techno banger, which seamlessly leads into the spacey and dreamy textures of “Voluta” by Venezuelan-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer Isabel Soto. Finally, emerging artist Leo Cologna closes the release with “Sinus”, a digital bonus that fully embodies the spirit of this compilation. The graphic design and visual aesthetics is curated by the Berlin artist Medas, adopting the light drawing technique, reflecting the rigor and abstraction of the sound and emphasizing the essence of the musical content.

Multidisciplinary Brussels-based artist Sagat steps up with a new mini album on the Basic Moves side label, Gems Under The Horizon, featuring a remix by Slovenian ambient bird e/tape. A few years ago, Wiet Lengeler, aka Sagat was invited by Basic Moves to create a live visual show using an analogue video synth setup to accompany a 5-hour dj set by e/tape at Face B in Brussels. From that moment on, the synchronicity between the two artists was clear - and this EP is the result.
Besides his visual work, Wiet Lengeler is also known for his contemporary techno music, primarily released on Brussels’ cult label Vlek Recordings. For this mini-album, Gems Under The Horizon 003, he presents four grainy ambient and textured electro-acoustic explorations. The tracks unfold organically — like ivy — gradually revealing layers of sound and hidden textures beneath babbling streams of electronics. e/tape’s remix feels like a natural continuation of Sagat’s sonic universe, together forming a mesmerising whole that explores the fringes of ambient music. In addition to the release, a limited run of the release + 30 x 3 riso printed posters from the visual show at Face B, made by Sagat and hand numbered are made available.
Mastering and lacquer cut was done by Frederic Alstadt at Angstrom Mastering. Artwork & inserts are designed by renowned Ghent-based visual artist Dieter Durinck.

Das fünfte Album der Newcastler Riffzauberer Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs (aka PIGSx7) ist geprägt von kalkulierter Aggression und selbstzerfrleichenden Texten. Zu den verblüffenden Boni gehören verspielte Synthesizer-Arbeiten und der Auftritt eines Hip-Hop-Masters. Mit seinem Titel, der Absurdität und Ernsthaftigkeit einander gegenüberstellt, ist dies Death Hilarious. Während Land Of Sleeper von 2023 als immersives Kopfhörer-Erlebnis konzipiert war, strebten Pigs dieses Mal nach etwas direkterem, böseren. ,Wir wollten, dass es ein Schlag ins Gesicht ist", grinst Produzent und Gitarrist Sam Grant. Dieses Ziel kam zum Teil dadurch zustande, dass die Band in den letzten Jahren sooooo viele Gigs gespielt hat. Die Band fühlte sich gut geölt und reif dafür, den Zuhörern zu Hause die Art von Prügel zu verpassen, die ihr Publikum von der Bühne aus erhält. Death Hilarious bietet einige Überraschungen, vor allem der Track 'Glib Tongued', bei dem El-P von Run The Jewels als Gastmusiker mitwirkt. Als Bassist John-Michael Hedley unwissentlich das schrieb, was seine Bandkollegen als ihr Äquivalent zu einer Hip-Hop-Nummer betrachteten, setzten die Pigs ihre Ziele hoch an und sicherten sich einen fulminanten Beitrag von einem der größten Rapper der Welt. Das soll nicht heißen, dass Pigs zum Nu-Metal übergegangen sind. Death Hilarious ist eine abwechslungsreiches, straffes Album, das sich zwischen sabbathianischem Doom, grotesk minimalistischem Noise Rock und zyklischen Post-Metal-Fortissimos bewegt. Auch die Pigs treiben sich selbst weiter an. Unpassende Synthesizer-Soli tauchen dort auf, wo normalerweise Gitarren-Histrionik Platz hätte. Klaviertracks lauern im Mix und verleihen dem Klangstrudeln eine fast unterschwellige Tiefe. Stitches" ist wie Motörhead, die versuchen, Glamrock mit einem beschwipsten Keyboarder zu spielen. Und dann ist da noch das 100-Meilen-Tempo des Cosmic-Thrash-Openers ,Blockage". Verzerrte Licks fliegen aus den Verstärkern von Grant und Lead-Gitarrist Adam Ian Sykes, während die Rhythmusgruppe dahinter brutzelt. Mit all dieser Power, die durch die Adern fließt, wird Death Hilarious mit Leichtigkeit eines der besten Rockalben des Jahres 2025 sein... und das ist kein Witz!

Als gäbe es noch nicht genug Drama auf dieser Welt, schickt sich die Bremer Postcore-Band Dramatist an, diesem Drama ihr ganz eigenes Kapitel an die Hand zu geben und euch auf ihren Trip mitzunehmen. Dramatist hauen uns ihr Debütalbum "Wasting Words" nur so um die berühmten Ohren und werden ihrem Namen zu 100% gerecht, denn Dramaturgie wird hier sowohl textlich als auch musikalisch mit großer Spielfreude gelebt. Dass sie dabei durchaus auch politisch daherkommen, zeigt vor allem die erste Single "Fat White Families" und auch die fast gleichnamige englische Band war sicher ebenso wenig für leichte Kost in musikalischer und textlicher Hinsicht bekannt. Zur Unterstützung ihres symphonischen Albums Magnification gingen sie 2001 mit einem neuen Ansatz
für ihre Live-Sets auf Tournee. Sie holten sich die Hilfe des European Festival Orchestra unter der Leitung
von Wilhelm Keitel, um ihren Live-Sets neue, üppige Texturen zu verleihen und so den Geist ihres neuen
Albums auf der Bühne zum Leben zu erwecken. Sie spielten nicht nur Titel aus Magnification, sondern
auch neu interpretierte Versionen ihrer zeitlosen Hits.

Acclaimed songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Dani Larkin has announced her highly anticipated new album Next Of Kin, set for release on January 23rd, 2026. The first single, End Of It All, out September 18th, offers a first glimpse at the stunning progression of her sound, fusing her signature storytelling with bold new sonic textures to create a track that is as urgent as it is unforgettable.

Die japanische Metalcore-Band Crystal Lake wird ihr neuestes Album "The Weight of Sound" über Century Media Records veröffentlichen. Das Quintett ist seit langem ein bekannter Name in der internationalen Metalcore-Szene. Mit Einflüssen sowohl aus dem Metalcore als auch aus dem Hardcore verschmilzt ihr Sound die Intensität beider Genres zu einem einzigartig schweren und mitreißenden Stil, der besonders bei ihren elektrisierenden Live-Auftritten zum Tragen kommt. Während die Band intensiv auf Tour war, wurde das erste Stück ihres neuesten Albums, "BlüdGod" (feat. Taylor Barber), bereits im Mai 2024 veröffentlicht.

Die aus Japan stammende Band hat sich eine globale Fangemeinde aufgebaut, tourt weltweit und gewinnt durch ihre kraftvolle und energiegeladene Musik an Zugkraft. Ihr neuestes Album, "The Weight of Sound'", ist weniger von bestimmten Aspekten inspiriert als vielmehr eine Reflexion über die Reise der Band und ihre Lebensweise im Laufe ihrer Geschichte, wie Gründer YD erzählt: "Bevor ich es realisiert habe, war Crystal Lake 23 Jahre lang aktiv. Die Leute sagen oft: "Die Zeit vergeht wie im Flug", aber die Wahrheit ist, dass wir eine lange Geschichte mit Freunden, Bandkollegen und anderen Musikern aufgebaut haben, die Blut, Schweiß und unzählige Kämpfe geteilt haben, um diese Band aufzubauen. Das Gefühl von Gemeinschaft und Zusammengehörigkeit spiegelt sich auf dem Album auch in den verschiedenen Beiträgen wider, an denen die Band mitgearbeitet hat - vom Eröffnungstrack "Everback" feat. David Simonich von Signs of The Swarm bis hin zum düsteren, aber verführerischen "Dystopia", bei dem Jesse Leach von Killswitch Engage mitwirkt. Mit "BlüdGod" (feat. Taylor Barber), das ursprünglich im Mai 2024 veröffentlicht wurde, spiegelt das Album eine ziemlich lange Reise und einen langen Entstehungsprozess wider, der das Warten für Fans und neue Hörer gleichermaßen wert war. Gemischt und gemastert von Jeff Dune (Knocked Loose, Make Them Suffer, Currents), enthält "The Weight of Sounds" alle Elemente der Härte und bleibt dabei den rohen Emotionen, die die Band in ihren Texten ausdrückt, treu. Mit insgesamt 11 Tracks wird "The Weight of Sound" von Crystal Lake sicherlich schwer sein - musikalisch und emotional.

Our director, Joe Stephenson, was looking for a bold, gothic, and dramatic score mixing traditional Hammer Films tropes with a modern sensibility.

Much like Jekyll and Hyde, this is a score of two parts, recorded with two different orchestras - the Budapest Art Orchestra and The Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
This helped to emphasise the split personality of the score: switching from sparse, haunting horror to the operatic gothic explosions we hear towards the end of the film.

A 30-person choir helped achieve a sense of scale where needed, and Hyde’s textural effects are performed on a variety of rare archaic instruments such as the Viola Da Gamba and Stroh Violin which help to evoke the sense of an ancient evil.

With a gorgeous smoky coloured vinyl, and Sean Longmore’s stunning bespoke artwork, this is a limited release that I’m eagerly awaiting to display on my own shelf.

NEW MISERABLE EXPERIENCE are a Philadelphia-rooted collective that reshapes heavy-music rigour into expansive, melody-forward songs through alternative synth-rock. What started as a file-trading collaboration between vocalist/bassist David Grossman (ex- ROSETTA) and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Mahesh Kost expanded into a full band that now includes ROSETTA drummer Bruce "B.J." McMurtrie Jr., technical-metal bassist Brett Bamberger (REVOCATION), and guitarist Brody Uttley (RIVERS OF NIHIL). The group forgoes technical exhibitionism in favour of mood and melody, composing introspective songs designed to reward close listening. Across the twelve tightly arranged tracks of 3rd album "Gild The Lily", the band pares its palette to essential elements: clear melodies, precise dynamics, and richly textured production. The album trades overt bombast for craft, building emotional weight through small gestures and patient arrangements rather than moments of spectacle. "We started saying `infinite sadness' as a bit of a catch phrase with the last album. I think that sums up the vibe of the album and project overall. We are very much in the `sadboi' world with Jeff Buckley, Puma Blue, Radiohead, Deftones, The Black Queen", says Grossman. Sonically, `Gild the Lily' combines alternative synth rock with chorus-tinted guitars, and a rhythm section that alternates between taut propulsion and roomy, reverb-soaked space. The arrangements both electronic and instrumental negotiates smooth and slick danceability alongside sinister edges. The band's aesthetic is one of deliberate economy: textures are chosen to serve mood and narrative rather than technical exhibitionism, and arrangements reveal their depth across repeated listens. Slick, sorrowful and cinematic in atmosphere, `Gild the Lily' is an eclectic collection that can not only groove in vibe and inspire movement, but also pierce to the nerve in ethereal lamentation. Composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist Yoshiharu Takeda's long-awaited first album, released in 2018, is now available as a reissue LP with obi strip.
He plays various instruments himself, including piano, clarinet, pedal steel guitar, and percussion.
Fantastical, crystalline melodies constructed through masterful use of multi-tracking and programmed elements.
This richly textured work possesses an organic quality, unfolding dynamically through colorful arrangements while maintaining a mysteriously serene atmosphere.

Diagonal welcomes Scott Gordon to the fold. Scott has previously released on Editions Mego as one half of Oto Hiax, a collaborative project with Mark Clifford of Seefeel (Warp Records). For his Diagonal debut, Scott offers up "Metals", a double EP of sorts: two sides of wax with two separate titles, "And Away" on side one backed with "Tilts" on side two. Each set is a study in using mechanical means to seek tone, rhythm and texture via unexpected objects and instruments. Both sides feature Scott's custom made Spinning Plate Instrument SPI. The SPI is a large, motorised vertical frame that spins a series of metal plates. These can be struck via midi - mechanical 'beaters'. These recordings also feature Scott playing the SPI manually. Soul Visions is an instrumental journey into the world of Deheb, who, after several years of continuous sound research, continues to draw inspiration from jazz, soul, funk, and progressive rock records, first discovered through his father and then through his fellow collectors and DJs, including his partner DJ Marrrtin from Funky Bijou.
The Breton artist is renowned in the beatmaking world for his collaborations in New York in the mid-2000s (Moka Only, Sean Price, Torae, Tye Phoenix, Apani B, etc.) and for his album “LEAF”, released in 2015 with Swiss producer Chief. He is best known for producing classic Funky Breaks in the global breakdance scene with Marrrtin under the name Funky Bijou, whose tracks have been played at the world's biggest breakdance events since 2011 (Battle Of The Year, Red Bull BC One, etc.). All their tracks have been listened to more than 30 million times on various platforms and social networks.
A prolific artist who draws much of his inspiration from funk and jazz, he is based in Nantes and has collaborated with groups from the French Neo Soul scene, such as J-Silk from Bordeaux, Jo Wedin from Sweden, and Keysuna from Nantes. Close to the dance scene, he has also collaborated with dancer and choreographer Mackenzy Bergile, which led him to join the CCNRB's choreographic project “Earthbound” by choreographers Saïdo Lehlouh and Johanna Faye in 2023.
Deheb has also been composing for documentary projects since his first collaboration with director Shyaka Kagamé in 2015 for “Bounty”. In 2024 and 2025, he worked on two critically acclaimed projects: “Boulevard du village noir”, produced by Radio Television Suisse, and “IMIHIGO, le pacte rwandais”.
This year, 2025, he brings us “Soul Visions”, a journey through the cinematic sound of the early 1970s to the soul funk and jazz funk of the late 1970s, a pivotal period in his own musical identity that contributed to the funk sound of his guitars and the texture of his synthesizers and electric pianos.
Soul Visions is first and foremost a tribute to the artists and composers, the geniuses of that era, such as the Mizell brothers in “Larry and Fonce”, the Bell brothers in “Ron and Don”, and giants of the genre such as Isaac Hayes, Yuji Ohno, Roy Ayers, and Clarence Reid. All these masters of the genre had their own distinctive sound and arrangements, which were easily recognizable and which are among Deheb's major inspirations.

Fides Records pushes further into its 10-year anniversary journey with X3, the third chapter of the series. Staying true to the label’s decade-long commitment to forward-minded underground techno, this new instalment sharpens the focus with five cuts that move between peak-time impact, melancholic tension, and dubwise pressure—each one a different angle on the Fides aesthetic.

Side A opens with Dustin Zahn’s “Madness”, a no-nonsense peak-time weapon built on stomping momentum, immersive pressure, and relentless drive—proof of why the US veteran remains a constant reference point. Marco Bruno follows with “Aura”, where melancholic leads and detuned synths shape an introspective yet heavy-hitting groove, capturing the Italian producer’s emotional weight and versatility. Closing the side, JANEIN (co-founder of Seelen Records) delivers “Polaris”, a spatial, bleepy roller that leans into darkness while keeping the propulsion locked forward.

Flipping to Side B, Yant’s “Fractured” shifts the palette: playful yet precise, kinetic in motion, with textures that keep mutating as the rhythm snaps into place. DHÆÜR “Sealand” captures the mood of a young Italian artist carving a new lane in minimal, elegant, unapologetic techno—energized and raw, yet defined by clean design, confident restraint, and a sharp personal signature. The record concludes with Hadone’s “No Longer Observed”, a dub-tinged stomper rich in detail and low-end depth; club-weight with an emotional undercurrent, balancing elegance and power in a way that feels unmistakably Fides.

The incredible story that began with The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet (TMMS) now enters an exciting new chapter: Skyscraper, the debut album by FEX.

Skyscraper features ten original tracks recorded in the early to mid-1980s-carefully re-transferred, remastered, and brought back to life. The album cover, designed by Darius S., brings the story full circle. Darius is the very person who preserved the now-iconic track Subways of Your Mind by recording it from NDR radio in the mid-80s. Without him, FEX may never have been discovered.

FEX's debut opens with its namesake, Skyscraper-a brooding, previously unreleased track the band once described as part of their "psychedelic phase." With haunting synth-helicopter textures and deep guitar riffs, it immediately sets the tone and raises tension.

The release flows naturally into the energetic and fully remastered studio version of Subways of Your Mind. This version of the TMMS - re-discovered on the "yellow label tape" by Reddit user Marijn-was long believed to be from a smaller home studio, but was actually recorded in November 1984 at Hawkeye Studios in Ganderkesee, near Hamburg.

Goldrush, first teased in raw form on FEX's YouTube channel, bends toward mechanical rhythm and shimmering synths, a snapshot of the band's experiments with programmed drum machine sound. Rückwardt's lyrics point to greed and criticizes materialism, and while the music leans toward pop sensibilities, it carries a raw, fractured edge.

Heart in Danger and I've Got My Eyes On You offer contrasting experiences-one rooted in classic post-punk tension, the other floating in melodic synth layers. The latter in particular feels like a fragment from a parallel radio history: a precise and one of a kind synth pop love song with a progressive touch.

From a rehearsal tape comes Dirty Slapstick, its urgency intact. Missing keyboard parts were later reconstructed by Michael Hädrich using his original DX7 synthesizer-recovering lost elements without rewriting the past. The lyrics take a wry look at forced optimism. Also included are the songs Talking Hands, Jenny and Strange Feeling, the latter being a slower blues-tinged cut, revealing yet another facet of the band's reach and Rückwardt's songwriting diversity.

The album closes where the legend began-with the original radio recording of Subways of Your Mind from Darius' cassette. This version of The Most Mysterious Song features alternate vocal effects, contributing to the track's enigmatic aura. Digitally transferred using a high-end Revox machine and carefully remastered, it now has its long-deserved official release.

The cover features a photo of the Eichenberg Bunker in Kiel-one of FEX's original rehearsal spaces and a symbolic monument to their sonic legacy.

Over the past year, No Drama, the label founded by Roy Rosenfeld, has established itself as a space for creative independence and artistic authenticity. Known for his refined fusion of house, techno, and downtempo, Rosenfeld channels the same principles into his imprint, prioritizing artistic freedom, emotional resonance, and sonic exploration.

The label's fourth release, No Drama V.2, delivers a cohesive four-track EP spanning over twenty-six minutes of forward-thinking electronic music.

Opening with Dubi, Rosenfeld crafts a composition built on contrasts and playful percussion set against a wistful melodic backdrop. Over nearly seven minutes, the track unfolds gradually, expanding into a hypnotic crescendo that captures both dance floorintensity and introspective depth.

Next comes Coral by Dulus, a Colombian-born artist, based in Santiago, Dominican Republic. With roots in guitar and vocal performance, his understanding of musical structure permeates the composition. Layers of subtle vocal textures, resonant basslines, and scattered sonic details create a sense of depth and movement. The track's hypnotic progression rewards close listening, revealing intricate nuances beneath its steady groove.

The third track, Pink Hearts, by Sydney-based producer Luka Sambe, draws from his experience in Australia's festival scene. Sambe blends melodic house structures with acid-tinged flourishes and offbeat sonic details. Each element lands with intent, building an infectious energy that feels effortless yet deeply crafted.

Closing the release is Oscar Wave by Darco, a rising artist celebrated for his immersive live performances that blend electronic textureswith organic instrumentation. The track channels early trance influences and Middle Eastern tonalities into an uplifting, psychedelic journey. Its central section bursts into a wave of euphoric release, bringing a fitting conclusion to a compilation that celebrates both diversity and unity in sound.

No Drama V.2 stands as a testament to Rosenfeld's curatorial vision and sincerity. Each track resonates with purpose, offering a glimpse into a global community of artists united by their shared pursuit of creation.
